As a retired Texas educator, I have real difficulty thinking the administration in Friendswood ISD did not violate the Educators code of Ethics and Standard Practices, which is enforced by SBEC, the State Board for Educator Certification. Standards 1.1-1.8 deal with ethical conduct, practices and performance, which the folks in Friendswood ISD have violated or pushed to extreme limit(s). If they deny this, it is akin to Bill Clinton and his comment about the meaning of the word “is.” These ethics can be viewed by going to SBEC’s website at http://www.sbec.state.tx.us and hitting the link on the left side of the page.

Just as teachers and building level administrators can have their certificates held or revoked when cheating on TAKS can be discovered, so too should the administrators in FISD have their certifications held and/or revoked. Cheating is cheating and their actions with GCAD is nothing more than cheating the taxpayers and patrons of their school district.

What an embarrassment to the profession in which I spent 36 years of my life they are!

We hold these truths……certain unalienable Rights….among theses are Life, Liberty and the pusuit of Happiness…….That whenever any Form of Government becomes destructive to these ends…..it is the right of the people to alter or abolish it, and to institute new Government…..

    We need to start instituting

I couldn’t agree with you more, RB. While the following quote from Jerry Doyle is not directly relevant to what you’ve said, but I thought it worth passing along:
“This is a sad day for all of US. While Terri’s life has ended, an angel is born. We are all better for coming to know her and worse for letting her go.”

R.B.: I’ve heard someone say they went and re-registered to vote, changing their party affiliation to Independent in protest. Neither the Democrats nor the Republicans represent me. Since there is no viable third party, I think that’s a good idea. I plan to do that on Monday. Maybe Washington will get the message if enough people do it. My letters, e-mails, and phone calls have been ignored. Registering as an Independent is my way of saying “I’m mad as hell, and I’m not going to take it any more!”

I’ve never heard of anything so obscene as a bunch of millionaire syndicated radio hosts, book sellers, and authors trying to raise money for a website! I’m far, far right-wing but this is absurd! It’s not enough I’ve bought their books, got a couple of “back-stage passes, 24/7’s” etc, now they just want me to give them money?
Ann gets $25,000 per speech. They’re all nationaly syndicated. Hannity could write a check from his spare change account and fund townhall.com for a year! Talk about innapropriate.
