The Lawyers are complaining because they will now have to pay a percentage of their fees in the form of a business tax. At $400/ hour how terrible to ask them to do such a thing. They need to hire a Lobbyists to go buy the Legislators so this will not happen. Strange thing is if you read all the BS in the article about the Senate tax plan you will get an idea of how terribly the taxpayer who doesn’t make $400/hour is about to get screwed. The count continues to go up 37 RINOs in the House, DEWHURST and PERRY (UNLESS HE VETO fred hill’s PHARMACY LEGISLATION) need to be voted out of office.

Excellent Ad. It is up to the people in Friendswood to send a message or shut up and pay.

Twice in the past 4 years I have protested my
tax appraisal to HCAD. I brought information with me that satisfied the examiner. In both cases, I prevailed. I was much impressed with the professionalism, and the efficiency of the process. In both instances, i was able to see an examiner within 15 minutes of my scheduled
    time.

About 6 years ago, I worked with an examiner
who showed me how the County taxes business
property. The examiner gave me all the data I
needed to lower my business taxes in succeeding years.

My hat is off to Paul Bettencourt and the HCAD
staff for the job they do in serving the
    public.

There are also some school board elections this Saturday. The teachers associations are advocating candidates who want to build more brick and tile monuments and give them more money. Vote for someone else. Teach the kids in modest buildings; not monuments named after former educators.

Go get em. These liberal spenders need to be stopped at the grass roots level. Friendswood is a great place to start.

I hope the full-page ad works. If so, we need to consider something similar in Richardson, maybe even a TV ad buy with Fred “Hoe” Hill’s comments being replayed…

There is a school board election this Saturday in Alief ISD. If residents read the campaign material they received, only two candidates speak of fiscal responsibility and respect for the tax rate. They are Bill Cork for Pos. 4 and Nghi Ho for Pos. 5. These are traditionally low turnout affairs and your vote will count immensely. Take 5 minutes on Saturday and do it. While we may not have had success fiscally at the state level, we can achieve it at the local level. There are three polling places and if you’re an Alief ISD resident and don’t know where to vote, send me an email with your precinct number and I’ll let you know.

Williams is concerned about our TAXES so he is going to introduce SJR 35 to cap appraisal increases at 5%. ADD HIM to the list of RINOs with DEWHURST and 37 state reps plus perry (unless he vetos the pharmacy bill). After the election on Saturday in Friendswood it will be interesting to see what kind of BS these RINOs can pull out of their hats to try to save their butts. No Chance they all have to go down to make a point.

Friendswood City Council is a runaway governing body throwing their desires down the tax payers throats.
The tax appraisals are coming out. There is one thing very apparent. INEQUALITY. It is amazing how the chosen few benefit from no tax increases but under valued property also. There are cases where homes are valued as low as $62/sq ft and down the street( sometimes the same block) homes have $95 -$100/sq ft valuation. Sometimes the tax advantage is hiddern in the land value. Where some home owners land is valued at $2.00/sq ft others have there real estate valued as low as $0.50/sq ft. There also appears some favoritism has been given by increasing the homestead exeption. There is on property found on this tax rolls with a market value of $$651,300,an exempted value of $414,370,and land valued $1.07/sq ft.
As you are aware most these low appraisals are given to the Friendswood elite. These same people are running our city and school board.
Now they attempting to create what they call thhe Main Street Project. It involves changing the downtown area into a combination Heights and Kemah boardwalk. The council is doing this without any voter approval. It will involve the condemning of 60 pcs of property. According to one of the candidates Clout is backing, the City has a $12 million any (slush)purpose fund. with this iin mind our”city fathers” are still wanting to (for a third time) push for another sales tax. This is on top of what they already milk us for. Several of our “city fathers” are already trying to purchase property in the planned revival zone.
As a Friendswood resident I can’t believe how deep this” #@$@*” can get.
This may be another topic Edd may want to bring this up after the election. Most of Friendswood has no idea what has been happening behind “CLOSED” doors.
    Sincerely,
    Mike Margerum

This is the text of my e-mail to Perry for this week! I am reminding all republicans in Austin that we will not forget thier betrayal on a weekly basis. Do we control our government or do we let it control us? IT IS TIME WE TAKE CONTROL OF OUR ELECTED OFFICALS!

ANY new taxes or higher sales tax will cause you too LOSS the next election. Republicans who supported you and worked to get you elected are fed up with the lack of leadership we have received from you.

We are no longer asking, we are demanding!

VETO ALL new taxes and ALL spending bills

Call a special session to address a 3% property appraisal cap for ALL real property effective immediatly upon the end of this session May 30th.

Republicans better get the job done or you will all be saying goodbye to your political careers. NO MORE EXCUSSES!

ITS TIME FOR A RECKONING and republicans will answer for NOT getting the job done

Saturday is election day in Friendswood. The past and current elected officials have sold us down the river. They won’t conserve & cut waste so each year these little piggies come to the trough demanding that you and I (the taxpayers) see to it that they get more this year than they had last year - even if you and I don’t have more this year than we did last year.

    Enough is enough!

I’ve had enough of these taxing authorities holding a proverbial gun to my head and threatening me with the loss of my home if I don’t fork over the cash! It’s nothing short of robbery! They do it this time every year, yet we (you and I) hand over the cash.

Friendswood - get out and vote for candidates who are not part of the same old tax and spend group that has been in control for years! Look where allowing them to remain in office has got us.

    What can you do?

VOTE SATURDAY for Chris Peden and John LeCour!

THEN file an appeal on your appraisal! Mine went up another $15,000 this year and I’ll bet yours did too! Take a copy of the mayor’s, the city councilpersons’ and the city manager’s tax appraisal history with you when you protest and tell them you want the same deal these guys got. Under the law we are supposed to receive equitable treatment. Don’t forget to take a copy of the letter from the ARB supervisor to the FISD school superintendent and tell them that you know the whole danged process is crooked and corrupt!

Write Lt. Gov Dewhurst and Gov. Perry and let them know you were not fooled by the piece of nonsense they touted as tax reform. Demand a special session to address property tax reform - REAL REFORM.

JOIN CLOUT - send them some money so they can help take the RINOs who betrayed us out of office.

If you don’t do all of the above - you don’t have any right to complain.

It has never ceased to amaze me how persons in elected positions can spend someone else’s money. Where is their honor, pride, since of duty, and self respect?

Dear Dan and Ed and all other involved, thank you so much for all you do for us. Keeping us informed and being honest when teaching those of us who are as naive as i was when I first began listening to KSEV. God Bless You in all your work. It is really appreciated.
