PETA employees arrested for animal cruelty
by Owen Courrèges · 06/17/2005 9:18 amI know that criticizing PETA is just about the easiest thing to do, but I just couldn’t resist posting this story:
Two Hampton Roads employees of Norfolk-based People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals have been charged in Ahoskie, N.C., with animal cruelty after dumping dead dogs and cats in a shopping center garbage bin, police said Thursday.Investigators staked out the bin after discovering that dead animals had been dumped there every Wednesday for the past four weeks, Ahoskie police said in a prepared statement.

PETA euthanizes animals by lethal injection, which it considers more humane than gassing groups of animals, as poor counties are forced to do, O’Brien said.
"PETA has provided euthanasia services to various counties in (North Carolina) to prevent animals from being shot behind a shed or gassed in windowless metal boxes, both practices that were carried out until PETA volunteered to provide a painless death, free of charge," Newkirk said.
But veterinarian Patrick Proctor said that authorities found a female cat and her two "very adoptable" kittens among the dead animals. He said they were taken from Ahoskie Animal Hospital.
"These were just kittens we were trying to find homes for," he said. "PETA said they would do that, but these cats never made it out of the county."
This is really sick. Then again, after PETA started suggesting that college students drink more beer and less milk, and started handing out gruesome comic books to little children, it was only a matter of time before they turned on the animals.

PETA is more concerned with a deadly posionous frog or an insect than cats and dogs who could be a loved pet. Or is it that they just want attention and claiming to “protect” the insects and frogs and animals is thier way of gaining attention the desire. Seems more likely that they are driven by some unfulfilled need to be noticed than any desire to protect any form of life.
Owen writes,”Even the threat of annexation has proven to be an effective means of extracting tax dollars for Houston city hall. Thanks to a state law passed in 1999, cities can perform “limited purpose annexations,” which aren’t actually legal annexations, but involve suburbs forking over tax dollars to avoid really being annexed.”
Meriam-Webster Dictionary defines blackmail as:” a tribute anciently exacted on the Scottish border by freebooting chiefs for immunity from pillage”.
Limited purpose annexation sounds like it fits, either pay the highway man or get pillaged.
I always knew it was going on with PETA, but I am so glad they are finally exposed! Poor dogs and cats………….I feel so bad for them, and I HATE PETA.
This is absolutely sick. I never thought that something so atrocious could ever happen in my little town. I’ve lost all respect for PETA.
