Troops have support of LST
by David Benzion · 06/29/2005 7:58 amPresident George W. Bush, 6/28/05:
In this time of testing, our troops can know: The American people are behind you.
Next week, our nation has an opportunity to make sure that support is felt by every soldier, sailor, airman, Coast Guardsman, and Marine at every outpost across the world.
This Fourth of July, I ask you to find a way to thank the men and women defending our freedom — by flying the flag, sending a letter to our troops in the field, or helping the military family down the street.
The Department of Defense has set up a website — AmericaSupportsYou.mil. You can go there to learn about private efforts in your own community. At this time when we celebrate our freedom, let us stand with the men and women who defend us all.
To the soldiers in this hall, and our servicemen and women across the globe: I thank you for your courage under fire and your service to our nation.
I thank our military families — the burden of war falls especially hard on you.
In this war, we have lost good men and women who left our shores to defend freedom and did not live to make the journey home. I’ve met with families grieving the loss of loved ones who were taken from us too soon. I’ve been inspired by their strength in the face of such great loss. We pray for the families. And the best way to honor the lives that have been given in this struggle is to complete the mission.
I thank those of you who have re-enlisted in an hour when your country needs you. And to those watching tonight who are considering a military career, there is no higher calling than service in our Armed Forces. We live in freedom because every generation has produced patriots willing to serve a cause greater than themselves. Those who serve today are taking their rightful place among the greatest generations that have worn our nation’s uniform.
When the history of this period is written, the liberation of Afghanistan and the liberation of Iraq will be remembered as great turning points in the story of freedom. After September the 11th, 2001, I told the American people that the road ahead would be difficult, and that we would prevail.
Well, it has been difficult — and we are prevailing.
Our enemies are brutal, but they are no match for the United States of America, and they are no match for the men and women of the United States military.
May God bless you all.

Do not be fooled by our left wing media. They like to see America fail. I am unsure why they get such joy out of it.
Please know that I and most all of my family and friends understand why we are in Iraq. WMD was just one reason. Over 3,000 people died at the World Trade Center. We never hear that those buildings had over 50,000 people in them at the time of the attack.
You our our defender’s of freedom. I know that the Iraqi people support the US troops. It is the media trying to make a political story out of it.
I know that we have sacrificed many great soldiers. But know that over a million people were slaughtered under Saddam’s rule. You are the Iraqi people’s hero’s.
I would serve next to any of you and fight for freedom. You all have my gratitude and my family prays for you.
You are part of us, and we will never forget you, or forget how you are sacrificing for our freedom.
Peace, and God’s love be with you.
As a former United States Air Force pilot of the Viet Nam era, I heartily support you! I am taking to the public forum America’s cause for defending itself in spite of the treasonous and traitorous actions of many of our citizens who are uninformed and have a bent toward Socialism and Communism. Have we forgotten so soon the World Trade Center attacks of ‘93 and 2001? Have we forgotten Oklahoma City and TWA 800 so soon? Until my dying day, I will put my life on the line too, for the defense and preservation of the freedoms we enjoy, so that our children and grandchildren can also enjoy America!

I’ve often wondered what would happen if, God forbid, our government turned socialist with a commmunist mentality? The media would then be controlled by the government with a heavy hand.
There would be no open dissension by the media or their ever present attacks against our President, Country and Military. The news outlets (1 or 2 owned by the government) could only print what they were spoon fed. The media, that so lovingly embrace the kooky spooky left, would find themselves replace by some real talking heads and thrown into the gulags they compaired GETMO to.

A gentleman came to our office on Friday with a nice Red shirt. A few comments were made as to the Red shirt and he said some people in his company had decided to wear a Red shirt on Friday to show support for our Troops defending the country.
That sounds like a good idea.
If the readers of LST really want to help the troops they should consider this suggestion from the President’s speech: “To those watching tonight who are considering a military career, there is no higher calling than service in our Armed Forces.” Matt, Owen, the ball is in your court
RE:Raymond Traylor Esq. absurdity
Raymond,
Check your meds, take the tin foil off of your windows, check for phone taps, and ignore the shadows of the silent black helicopters as they hover over your house.
Although you threw out the tired standards of “Bush lied” and “the evil US created Saddam Hussein”, you introduced a new one….IRAQ WAS ON IT’S WAY TO BECOMMING A TOP NOTCH NATION??????
WOW, I haven’t laughed that hard since Democrats lost the Presidential elections….TWICE. I appreciate your sarcasm.
To think that someone with multiple functioning brain cells actually calls the Stalinist Iraq “top knotch”…..you are a comedic genius.
If your statement was not intended to be funny, you should seek immediate medical care. I think that the fabric dye in your pitted out SAVE THE WALES BUT KILL THE BABY HUMANS T-shirt is reacting with your incense and patchouli oil and poisoning your brain.
Dude..you’ve lost it.
Sir, you are absolutely correct as the socialist or communist would throw the media in jail (if they are lucky)- usually a short walk around the corner with a bang at the end. This is a typical solution since the new party in power realizes real quick that the traitors will turn against them just as they had been a traitor to the country that gave them the freedom to be a traitor in the first place.
Just look at John McCann how he has turned against the conservatives. If he thinks he can win the 37% conservative vote he is nuts. Neither the liberal left nor the conservative right is going to support him. So he winds up destroying the conservative position and allows the liberals to take over the legislature.
I just read your comment in regard to the Iraq war. All I have to say on this is you are a real bonehead.
I am behind the troops 100%.
That being said, Bush is a JERK!
Close the borders where any terrorist can move across freely! (and probably have)
