   this will be blamed on Pres. Bush too. Would someone show the Americans what the chain of command might be. Why have a mayor ? Why have a governor ? Who is suppose to organize ? Who is suppose to make the calls for HELP ? What is the correct procedure for asking for federal assisstance.

   That doofus affirmative-action mayor of New Orleans now says that he fears George Bush may have the CIA “take him out” for his attacks on the administration…. Are these people completely deranged? What thought process leads to this type of statement? People who elect this type of individual deserve the lack of leadership they get. This man is clearly a fool and has no business acting as mayor. He is a foolish, ignorant man who was clearly elected based on the principles of affirmative action. He should resign.

   OMG, the Mayor needs to be hung over the fact they did not utilize these buses for evacuation!!!! Think of the lives that could have been saved!!! NOw these buses are trash!

   After any disaster it is easy to seek blame from others such as the Federal Government. Even the best laid plan when faced with reality will have faults. So I don’t blame you for it all. But what were you doing Mayer Nagel when Katrina crossed over Florida and was headed your way? What were you doing Governor and Senator? When you ordered a mandatory evacuation (was it mandatory??) what plan and action was taken to get people, who did not have a means of evacuating the area, out of town? What did you do? What did you do?

   The 3rd video is of prticular interest because it shows what’s left of Waveland; nothing.

   There is plenty of blame but this is also a very large disaster and all effort were bound to come somewhat short.

   One of the problems is that so many people have been reeducated to thnk like bureacrats and there are laws that if you are not qualified to, fill in the blank, than some government official will arrest you for doing that. Wanted to pickup survivors in a bus, government officials said that you could not because you were not qualified, etc.

   Want to see who’s at fault, everyone look in the mirror, starting with those who were hired to prepare for these events and ending with those who elected/hired the inepts.

   What was your disaster plan? And who was supposed to administer them?

   WHy weren’t school busses used to ferry those without cars or who were too infirm to drive out of the area til the threat was over? Like on Sat or Sunday before the storm hit??? All it would have cost was some gas and overtime salary for drivers…

   I am from NYC, tho I am not living there now. The city is so well prepared for disaster, Remember 9/11 when the mayor was right there in them middle of things and firemen and police didn’t wait for an engraved invitation to begin rescue procedures!!!

   1. Governor:
   a. Proclaim a State of Emergency.
   b. Issue supplementary declarations and orders, as the situation
   requires.
   c. Authorize and direct the use of State government personnel and
   other resources to deal with the emergency.
   d. Authorize and direct the authorities of non-risk parishes to
   coordinate the opening and operation of shelters with DSS in
   conjunction with ARC, and to lend all possible assistance to the
   evacuation and shelter effort.
   e. Request Federal government assistance as needed.

   It seems to me they had a good plan in place but the good Guv of La. chose to come on TV and cry. I got bored and read the whole thing and other documents as well. Throughout the plan the Governor of La. is directed to initiate all of the appropriate actions INCLUDING requesting additional aid from the feds. It seems to me that the government of La. waited for the feds to start the recovery process.

   Soooo the President Bush bashers get some intellectual honesty ahhhh never mind it ain’t gonna happen. Here is the info, read it if you wish.
