About 64 new students, “angels” from New Orleans, showed up at Scarborough on Thursday 9/8/05. At lunchtime a large number of these “angels” started trash-talking Houston, Tesxas, and Scarborough High School. A number of the Houston students, verbally defended their school, city, and state. Lunch period was cut short to avoid a fight. Students were herded back to their classes without further incident.
I understand that these “angels” have lost everything and are angry, but that’s no excuse to come into OUR schools and trash-talk our schools, city and state . . . all of which have gone way beyond neighborliness to help out.
Unbelievable!!! We can give and give to the New Orleans refugees, but can’t even get our own legislature to pass school funding legislation for OUR kids!!!! How are we supposed to educate these new students when we can’t even get funding for the current students???
