you know, I just might vote for Rick Perry again, since he took charge of a problem that Louisiana’s governor wasn’t competent enough to handle…

I’ll give credit where credit is due. Perry stepped up when he needed to.

Perry earned some respect from me for this… but I still think he’s a dope

Now if we could get him to to do something about school finance before the schools run out of money….

Finally, Governor Goodhair steps up to the plate. Too bad he did not show the same leadership with the legislature this year.

    Simple is as Simple does

Perry got some points on this no doubt, this next term will be his last if he wins. Depending upon who runs against him, I feel atleast I have an idea where he is coming from. Just remember if a dem. majority ruled not only would taxes be up, but every other social agenda would be up as well. Perry did step up on the eminent domain and gay marriage issue and so others.

If there was ever a solid argument for Cloning- Honore would be it. Kick booty and take names, head ‘em up and move ‘em out. Let’s face it when comes to honorable our military people are on the whole the most honorable federal bunch we have in this country!

What we have not seen step up to the plate are many politicos that could make decisions that immediately have fiscal impact.

    1. Immediately cut all pork from the highway bill. See cagw.org (Citizens against guvmint waste). They have a faxable form that you can well, fax, to your representatives asking them to rescind the pork for their states. To date many Repubs have sent back their pledge, others such as HRClinton have not, among others. Repubs are guilty as well.

    2. Immediately enact either a Flat Tax or Fair Tax system. The first party to do this will be swept into office in the next election.

I don’t see the Dem’s even giving this a second thought. Repubs could seal the election if this were a plank in the platform.

I still do not know if the Forbes et al, flat tax could end up being a VAT but by gawd it seems to be working in the former Eastern Bloc countries. I am still out on the “Fair Tax” but any change would bring releif and more money for people to send for the Katrina costs.

    3. Rescind the Fed tax on gasoline and heating oil for 120 days to get us thru the winter. People not only vote with their feet they vote with their sweaters on and those sweaters have a checkbook in the side pocket and nothing worse than a mad cold voter who is broke.

    4. Eliminate or at least cut in half the state gasoline tax for 120 days. I want to buy a nice aqaurium (with fish and all of the accutrements) for my granddaughter for Christmas. I may not because of the price of gas and taxes. She may just get a goldfish bowl with a fish I won at the State Fair.

Now, do any of you want the sadness of my granddaughter on your conscience? I think not… ;-)

    5. This is more difficult than it sounds. Make our by gawd at the State level and inside loop DC level rep’s accountanble for their current nasty deeds and I say we buy them all a Smith and Wesson 9 MM and shoot every lobbyist that comes within 50 feet or put the weapon to better use. Lobbyists have killed this country and ruined our rep’s. Can’t we return fire?

The problem will be this. They will ask for the funds to buy the bullets. And that funding they will take away from Texas Parks and Wildlife.

Give it all a thought good reader and you be the judge. Right now I need the Repub leadership to step up and make a difference on the double quick. I am waiting for so powerful a message to come from some super-hero in the House of Rep’s I could just scream. What the hell are they afraid of? Hell they get their lifetime pension either way.

I am looking for a Superman. And I ain’t the only one. Did all of the Repub’s we have now get “noogied” in high school? You would think so. They are getting “noogied” now. Wimps.

    Your Servant,

    Deke
