This weekend, during the Oklahoma-Kansas State football game, a student killed himself with a suicide bomb outside OU’s football stadium. OU officials were quick to dismiss the event as the action of a screwed-up kid, not a terrorist:
"We know that he has had what I would call emotional difficulties in the past. There is certainly no evidence at this point which points to any other kind of motivation other than his personal problems," said University President David Boren over the weekend.
But it looks like there may be an Islamic terror connection after all, according to WorldNetDaily:
Doug Hagmann, a seasoned investigator, told WND he was informed by multiple reliable law-enforcement sources familiar with the investigation into the incident that authorities recovered a "significant amount" of "jihad" materials, as well as Hinrichs’ computer.Hagmann also said those same sources indicated police and federal agents "had pulled additional explosives from [Hinrichs'] house," including triacetone triperoxide, or TATP, "homemade explosive [that is] very potent but relatively easily manufactured."
TATP was also used in the July mass transit bombings in London, CNN reported, and was used by attempted bomber Richard Reid, who packed his shoes with the compound in an unsuccessful attempt to destroy a U.S.-bound American Airlines flight in December 2001.
Maybe Osama is a K-State fan. Meanwhile, the kid’s family is in denial:
His sister, Berkeley Hinrichs, says her brother said he wasn’t sure what he wanted to do with his life.She also says it’s possible her brother was doing an experiment and didn’t mean to kill himself.
All in all, this is a sad, frightening story that should’ve been covered better by the national media.

Speaking of media coverage, I cannot find a SINGLE mention of this in the Houston Comical.
The coverage has been really limited.
I would only caution about putting TOO much credence in World Net Daily and the “seasoned investigator” they talked to.
That’s not to say that paranoid kooks aren’t sometimes right (people really WERE out to get Nixon after all!), but frequently they are not.

I’m surprised MSM hasn’t gotten to the bottom of the “missing” roommate. That could be an interesting bit of information.

You do not even know how true that statement is! I spent 5 years as a volunteer at the Polunsky Unit near Livingston. What I saw and heard through direct observation/conversation is disturbing.
Maybe he saw the ok offensive and could not take it anymore. seriously, at what point does islam crooss from being a religion to recognized homeland security threat? will it take a 70,000 plus dead and maimed to make the distinction? i pray not , but i think that wil be the case.
I am absolutely disgusted with the cowardly and anti-American actions of the “main stream media”. I was watching KTRK Channel 13 in Houston, but after two days in a row hearing their Minerva Perez call President Bush “Mr” Bush (yet, it is still “President” Clinton), and now not a word about this bombing in Oklahoma, I am through with them. I e-mailed them about both issues, of course, with no response. They don’t care what the viewers think.
I believe that if a major network would stop pandering to the terrorists and leftists, and would come out with a strong pro-American stand, they would get more viewers than any in history. My family and most of my friends would certainly be with them. Fox was better, but they are not reporting on this either.
Does anyone know what they are all so afraid of? I simply cannot figure it out.
Why are the news media not reporting - because they don’t want to be a target when it all starts. What will happen at Mosques once the jihadist begin to blow themselves up on buses, at school, hospital and football games - Bubba from Cut & Shoot shows up and things get technical.
Don’t forget their recruiting during the Hurricane Katrina evacuees at the Dome - it ain’t just in prisons.
I just received a reply e-mail from KTRK stating that they ran the story twice yesterday - and that it “doesn’t have anything to do with terrorism. The man committed suicide outside the stadium”. !

KTRK, like most of the DLWM (Declining Left Wing Media) obviously hires their reporters from individuals who attended the Dan Rather Ethics and Abilities in Journalism on line courses. Once again the bloggers are going to make fools out of the liberal journalists. According to the poll I saw in November of 2004, FOX and talk radio are now the MSM, the the alphabet networks like SEE BS.

It is terrifying to think that this didn’t reach any Main-Stream media source. Just think, if this has an Islamic terror connection, and we just ignore it… then we send terrorist the message, that we don’t take the small individual bombings seriously.
