Elmo Impersonator Accused of Harassment

The red and cuddly Sesame Street Muppet Elmo has learned a new lesson: ‘H’ is for handcuffs. A man dressed as the character was one of three impersonators arrested last week for allegedly harassing tourists for tips after posing for photos on Hollywood Boulevard.

Ah, sunny Los Angeles. I can hear it now: “Hey kids, “C” is for cheap. As in ‘Your dad is too cheap to tip me!’”

Nice.

Wow. There’s a living for you - harass tourists for tips because you went out to a street corner and dressed up as Elmo.

I would demand more than your average Elmo-costumed harasser. I actually SOUND like Elmo too. When I am trying, that is. Not like I sound like that ALL the time or anything.

I wish the guys around here would dress up like Elmo. That would be much better than just looking for handouts and not doing anything at all. Even worse is when they want to “wash” your car windows. The kids in Brazil juggle tennis balls for money… that’s the idea… at least entertain me while you’re annoying me.

I am obviously in the wrong line of work! You have to give the fella credit for coming up with a creative way for panhandling. I have had individuals hit my window when I refuse car wash services before. Thank God for a better temperment now or I would have made local news.

However, I feel if you can ask if I have any spare change, you can also ask, “Will you like fries with that?”

Geez….
