    If they took the Sunday coupons out they would have no circulation at all.

    Maybe they should include articles about the Tampa Bay cheerleaders…

    …including full page photo spreads…

    I’m sure you can’t get the real #’s, since they are obviously so dishonest as to try to up their #’s this way.

    I would just love to see what the real, true actually SOLD circulation is. I get it dropped in my yard to from time to time.

    The Chronicle is a great paper. It has many uses. I get them from my school library (mostly unread, I might add.) They are perfect for litter boxes as well as putting under a vehicle that may leak a drop or two of oil occasionally. Wait, I forgot. They are wonderful for waste processes like peeling shrimp and/or wrapping and throwing out fish entrails. I’ll bet there are hundreds of other uses I haven’t even thought about.

    Lemme make sure I understand this…

    Houston, TX population (Metro): 5,180,443

    Houston Chronicle circulation: 521,419

    10% of the population…

    THAT’S something to be proud of!

    from the free republic:
    “The Newspaper Association of America said on Monday that overall daily circulation for the six-month period ending September 2005 for 789 newspapers fell 2.6% to 45,153,192 copies. For the 627 papers analyzed, Sunday dropped 3.1% to 49,394,406.”

    and the chronicle is minus 6 percent. way to blow the curve !

    MMNI;
    And every year they keep trying to go up 5-10% on their rates. One of the companies I consult for spent over a quarter of a million dollars annualy wiith the Chron. for several years in a row. Every year the results got less and less and every year they wanted more and more dollars. Something had to give. It did. It was the $250,000 budget that went away. We haven’t looked back since. If more advertisers did that,well,you get the picture…..
