Hammer, I also recall snow flurries that stuck so well the old Houston Post had a FP pic of a dude snow skiing down Broadway Blvd in Galveston! (The Great Snowstorm of 1988)
As for me, I’ve rode out Michigan and Montana blizzards, and I’ll take the blond haired blue eyed bikini beach babes every frigging day of the week! :^D
unghhhh Mornings come to early. Somebody get me a cup of coffee. Anyway since there is a movement to remove Christ out of Christmas I thought this memo is appropriate.
Ever notice that your friends and family always spam you with the new chain letter du jour at the begining of every season. Somewhere deep in the bowls is a box of floppies that has a copy of every joke letter Mrs. Squawk has ever received over the past 9 years on the net. I may give it as a gift along with the traveling fruitcake to an “outlaw” that spams me the most with jokes, solicitations, chain letters, fyi’s that they think are new and I have seen at least 100 times in one incarnation or another. Anyway for your Christmas Enjoyment consider your self spammed by Uncle Squawkie.
Click here for a list of Christmas jokes and stories. They are complete and you too can exact your revenge on that Aunt that never writes you a real letter but forwards everything that she receives in her email box. Be warned you will probably get them back.
Yes indeed it is time to celebrate. As I told you all yesterday Hillary is just too strong for the GOP in New York. Hmmmm what does that mean for the rest of us. Good news for all. http://www.nypost.com/news/regionalnews/58821.htm
“December 2, 2005 — ALBANY — Embattled Republican Senate hopeful Jeanine Pirro will hold an "emergency summit" with Gov. Pataki today as she weighs pulling out of the race against Hillary Rodham Clinton. A leading Republican official said Pirro was "weighing her options, weighing her future as a Senate candidate”
Yo Feagan
Sparkin for an early argument huh? Hillary discussion on a Saturday morning? You are a cruel man or a glutton for punishment, I just don’t know which.
LOL just joshin with ya.
Not sure, I think I am a glutton for punishment. I know I will be hamnmered on this. But I am used to it here on LST. Besides Hillary gets the blood pumping better than Coffee.
Feagan
I already knew about that one. Doesn’t surprise me at all. Ain’t no denying that Hillary has the financials to get the push. Pirro has had some mega problems for a long while.
As for good news well that is an empty argument for me. You like her, I don’t.
Actually Squawk, My jury is still out on her, and I have said her I don’t think she will be the Presidential candidate for us Dems in 08. I think it will be someone un expected. But you would have to admit Pirro was a light wieght.
Hillary wants to be president so she can steal the rest of the stuff from the White House that she and Bill failed to take the first time. She’s a joke. Also I don’t think she will spend her $$ on the senate campaign. She’ll use it on the presidential campaign.
I cringe every time I even think she might be in the White House.
Oops! The Texas v. Colorado game is on!! GO ‘HORNS! gotta go watch it.

I got this from a newsletter I read. I thought you would enjoy the humor. I hope I don’t get into trouble for posting it.
“NEW ELEMENT FOUND!
The recent hurricanes and skyrocketing oil and gasoline prices helped to prove the existence of a new element. In early October 2005, a major research institution announced the discovery of the heaviest element yet known to science. The new element has been named “Governmentium.”
Governmentium (Gv) has one neutron, 25 assistant neutrons, 88 deputy neutrons, and 198 assistant deputy neutrons, giving it an atomic mass of 312. These 312 particles are held together by forces called ‘morons’ which are surrounded by vast quantities of lepton-like particles called ‘peons.’ Since Gv has no electrons, it is inert. However, it can be detected, because it impedes every reaction with which it comes into contact. A minute amount of Gv causes one reaction to take over four days to complete, when it would normally take less than a second!
Gv has a normal half-life of 4 years; it does not decay; but instead undergoes a reorganization in which a portion of the assistant neutrons and deputy neutrons exchange places. In fact, Governmentium’s mass will actually increase over time, since each reorganization will cause more morons to become neutrons, forming ‘isodopes.’ This characteristic of moron promotion leads most scientists to believe that Gv is formed whenever morons reach a certain quantity in concentration. This hypothetical quantity is referred to as ‘Critical Morass.’
When catalyzed with money, Gv becomes “Administratium’ (Am) - an element which radiates just as much energy as Gv, since it has half as many peons but twice as many morons. ”

#8 didn’t we have a nice ice storm in Winter ‘96 or maybe in Jan-Feb ‘97?, too? Took out a lotta pine trees in Cypress and we had a nice little power outage. We were living in some apartments at the time and had the only gas grill in the area, so like 5 or 6 families were emptying out the refrigerators and cooking up a storm on the grill. Actually, that part of it was fun…
“In this country, the state lacks the authority to ban protected speech on the ground that it affects the listener’s or observer’s thoughts and attitudes,” Kennelly wrote.
Since when is “Grand Theft Auto” protected speech, and why should minors be able to buy violent games with explicit sex, in some cases, without parental permission?

The reason the gubment changed the rules is simple. When ever the highly trained TSA people find an 89 year old Grandma with nail clippers they have to detain her. During her detention the TSA people have to do a full body cavity search and wait for the 4-12 hour database search to verify her identity. Too many people were complaining that Grandma was getting molested.
Actually I am not too far off the mark. Think about it. Take an inventory of all the prohibited items that we are not allowed to carry on the plane. Technically when one of those objects are found, the person carrying the object must be stopped and scrutinized. Mrs. Squawk was stopped for 40 minutes because she had a small Bic lighter in the bottom of her bag. So instead of bringing common sense into the equation the gubment swings the pendulum the other way in sensibilities under the guise of “we are changing the focus of our searches.” By removing the number of items in violation they reduce the number of people detained, thus making the flying public happier.
Since the new search technique now includes under the arm checks I am going to make sure that I go in with really sweaty pits. Nope no Right Guard for the kid. All this so called airport security is pablum for the public. A placebo if you will. Take a look at this story. The story is a bit dated, but I believe relevant since it was written when, one would think, airport security would have been the highest.
Suddenly everyone is whining that Congress changed something (their shorts?) in the 1990’s so that someone somewhere is supposed to call Christmas “holiday.” So, that’s like Holiday Tree, Holiday Gifts, ‘Twas the Night Before Holiday, Holiday fruit cake (arrgh), Merry Holiday, etc? SO what? I never heard anything about it, But most of Congress dirty work is hidden from the voting public as long as possible, OR just sound-bite blurbed for the sake of confusion.
BUT MY POINT IS, OF COURSE it’s HOLIDAY this and that. ‘Tis the season to be jolly. Every Christian should have already figured it out, it’s JESUS HOLIDAY. It was the “H” in Jesus H. Christ, remember? Puzzle solved, newspeak lovers. Happy Holly Daze, Americans!! Eat a turkey, or if you’re vegan or what, shape your tofu that way.
Pass the eggnog (or tofunog) & Merry Jesus Holiday!
If I were a reporter, here are 10 questions I would ask El Presidente Jorge dub-ya Bush.
1) If a person enters the country illegally, are they an illegal alien?
2) How many illegal aliens will live in your gated, security laden, secret service protected neighborhoods, now or in the future?
3) How many times, now or in the future, will you ever have to wait in the hospital because several illegal aliens are in line in front of you?
4) How many of your children or grandchildren will go to public schools that are overcrowded with illegal aliens?
5) What does Article 4 Section 4 of the Constitution mean?
6) Does it bother you that taxpayers are bilked billions of dollars to pay for illegal aliens health care, education and incarceration?
7) Have illegal aliens ever trespassed on, trashed or broke into your ranch like many in Arizona, New Mexico and Texas?
Should English be the official language of the USA?
9) Did you know that 30% of felons are illegal aliens?
10) Why is it OK, for someone who entered the country illegally to stay here and continue to break the law for 6 more years? This is your proposed plan. How will we know they have gone back? What about all the children they have in the six years here? What do we do about that?
Not one leg-showing Fox babe or Fox GQ dude has asked any of those, have they?
Forget cnn\cbs\nbc\abc\msnbc……….They are disciples of Joesph Goebbels journalism.
Phil, snail mail your list to President Bush at the White House, our two Senators, and your Representative. Let us know what kind of response you get. I’ll modify the list {slightly} and send it to the same bunch.
JimB, no surprise here, but I bet Gov. Pakaki and Mayor Bloomburg are a little shall I say Frustrated.
Sorry Jim, you miss on your attempt to point to NY as a liberal bastion. Re read my first comment here, pay close attention to “Gov Pataki” and “Mayor Bloomburg”. Liberal bastions don’t usually elect conservative leaders.
So I guess this proves GWB really does not have a plan for the situation in Iraq. Well Sarge here is your shot at a good amount of money.
IRAQ: Strategic City Stabilization Initiative
“The United States Agency for International Development is seeking applications for an Assistance Agreement from qualified sources to design and implement a social and economic stabilization program impacting ten Strategic Cities, identified by the United States Government as critical to the defeat of the Insurgency in Iraq. The number of Strategic Cities may expand or contract over time. USAID plans to provide approximately $1,020,000,000 over two years to meet the objectives of the Program. An additional option year may be considered amounting to $300 million at the discretion of USAID. Funds are not yet available for this program. ”
Estimated Total Program Funding: $1,020,000,000.00
Award Ceiling: $1,320,000,000.00
35, Yeah he ran as a Republican for Mayor. With the support of the Repuplican Party, with the funding of the Republican party. Hmmmmm guess he is a conservative.
35 MikeSmith, here you go from the New York GOP website.
New York GOP Headlines
CONGRATULATIONS TO LOCAL REPUBLICANS!
The NYGOP is proud of our victories all around New York State this year, and of all the excellent local Republican candidates who ran for office. Together, Republicans will continue working hard to keep our state moving forward.
“Mayor Bloomberg’s victory is testimony to the strength of the Republican Party across this state,” boasted NYGOP Chairman Stephen Minarik. “Not only did he win the support from 58 percent of New York City residents; he succeeded in a city where Democrats outnumber Republicans 5 to 1. This is a fantastic day for the Republican Party and for the City of New York.”
Well I guess the strength of the Republican party is, well not that strong when it comes to Hillary.
If you really love your humble moderator squawkbox and would like to get me something really unique and thoughtful for Christmas , oh sorry I meant as a Holiday Gift, may I suggest this. Hey it only lists for $120000.
Feagan, referring to Bloomburg as a “conservative”, because he’s a Republican is the same as referring to all Democrats as being the same as the slobbering imbeciles at the DU.
Bwahahahaha the Texans are about to engage in yet another futile attempt to win a football game. Even though they are playing against the Baltimore “rookie” quarterback I predict Balitmore by 7 1/2.
If the Texans should win (snicker giggle, did I really say that?) I like my crow beer battered and deep fat fried.
40, yeah Squawk, just saw a “review” the that truck on “Motorweek”. I also saw the real thing at the last Auto show here in Houston. Kind of puts the Hummer to shame. But what is it ? a 73 gallon tank. So a fill up runs close to 200 bucks.
But hey with an 40,000# towing capability who cares.
Feagan
You run out of reading assignments or what? Bloomberg in word and deed has demonstrated his Democratic leanings. I can pull out the sources if you would like and I promise no campaign contribution records.
As for Rudy he is one of those moderate Republicans in that if you were to keep score on issues he leans Republican. Yes I would vote for him on two issues, crime and national security.
Feagan
I love big trucks. I saw that review on Motorweek too. Mrs. Squawk said that since I just got my new camera equipment that I could not have it so I figured why not put in a shameless solicitation here.
Do you do the auto shows regularly? I used too but since my best bud moved away I have not found anyone else that shares in my enthusiasm.
47, Every year for the past 10 or so. Last year I did not find too much of interest. It is kind of a tradition for me. Infact I have been known to go twice in one year, for about the last 10 or so years. Good news for me, My wife likes it too.
You are welcome to join me anytime. My wife likes it, but she grows tired about 1/2 way thru it, so I have to go back to really look at the stuff that I like.
Feagan
“Besides Hillary gets the blood pumping better than Coffee.”
You can’t mean that! Tell us it isn’t true!
She’s about as “purty” as homemade soap! It’s no wonder Bill had a wandering eye and another thing as well!
I read somewhere that she was once nominated as the poster girl for birth control! Well, maybe not!
PS I know what you were referring to. Just a little tongue-in-cheek remark for you!
Have a lovely, left-leaning day!
Three more years!
Three more years!
Three more years!
Feagan
I will keep that in mind. I would enjoy the tour with ya. Mrs. Squawk does not mind going but it does not rank real high on her interest list. The tradeoff is I get dragged screaming and kicking to the Houston Quilt show with her.
Feagan - I gotta go with Squawk on this one. These ‘Republicans’ in New York are no conservatives. They’re ‘moderates’ at best. Besites, I would imagine that most of them don’t pass my pro-life ‘litmus test’. Anyway, the rural areas of NY may be somewhat conservative, but the cities aren’t.
#47 Squawk, are you talking about Autorama, the custom show? I never miss it in November. Last couple of years have been a little dull but OK. I also go to a local show by Sam’sa on SH 6 @ I10 on nice Saturday nights. Cool cars an a lot of cool people.
Kid
#53
Yeah I like it. It is my firt DSLR. I have been shooting the Nikon N90 for years and wanted to give digital a whirl. I thought about the new D200 (not out yet) but I am leary about new technology. I figure I will learn to use this first and then move up after the second or third production.
SC
Yep I was talking about Autorama. I used to make the local shows too. I’ll have to get myself out to SH6 some Sat night. The locals here in Conroe gather around the county courthouse during the Summer.
SC and Feagan
I hit the Nirvana of car shows in Detroit and Chicago about 12 years ago. Between the new car roll outs and prototypes, the custom/classic show were sights not to be missed. Geez I wish I was rich instead of so darn good looking.
#58 Squawk I started going to the Autorama with my dad back when it was in the Albert Thomas Conventiuon center Downtown. The world has changed much since then.
SC
#60
That had to be great times. I never got to go to those shows. I did see a few concerts and wrestling matches there. Awww but I digress. I also like to make truck shows. Not these monster trucks but tractors.
#62 Went to a few monster truck shows with the kid before he grew out of it. That is a different crowd. Oh and the concerts downtown, that started a whole new topic a few weeks ago when we all started to show ur age.
#62 Just thinking back a little more, my dad was nor really a car guy, but had a couple of MGs before the parenta; gene kicked in. Going to the car shows with him and buying a Hot Rod Magazine on the way to New Mexico for a snow Vacation as a kid got me into cars. I would ahve rather ridden in the truck of one of those MGs than in that Ford Falcon Wagon.
Well Baltimore did not cover my spread but, the Texans once again found away to lose AGAIN. I think the tax payers of Houston should demand a refund for the stadium they built, cause their ain’t no team in it.
well squawk no that you have a camera words of warning DO NOT buy any media at Best Buy Circut City Ect. unless it is on a rebate if you want a good deal try fry’s(ok normal prices) or http://www.tigerdirect.com or even http://www.newegg.com(better for computer parts though)
all the normalo retail stores are a ripoff unless they have rebates so either stoop so low to get the chronical on a sunday or check out online adds
Thanks Kid
Will keep that in mind. I’m not a fan of Best Fried or any of those box stores. I will get my media from Tiger. My camera equipment always always always, did I say always? comes from a camera store.
If Houston had suffered the type of hurricane damage done to New Orleans and Houston’s mayor was as incompetent as Ray Nagin, would you be inclined to return if the mayor begged…like Nagin?
Squawk, I have been thinking about going to Chicago or New York for the car show one of these years. I am sure it is quite a bit (read a lot ) better than here in Houston.
I would like to make it a good weekend trip. Not sure which is better these days.
Speaking of Big trucks, when I was a kid, 13 or 14, we had family friends that were contractors, so I spent summers cleaning up around the job sites for a little pocket change, there was a guy who hung sheet rock, he had a late 60’s or early 70’s Dodge Power Wagon. As a kid that was my idea of a real truck. To this day I love those models.
Feel free to leave a comment... and oh, if you want a pic to show with your comment, go get a gravatar!
Actually around here it’s kinda normal.
PS: be sure to work on your Christmas tans! :^D
This is not the first time. I can remember as a boy being in shorts and short sleeves not only on Christmas, but New Years, and Thanksgiving too.
Hammer, I also recall snow flurries that stuck so well the old Houston Post had a FP pic of a dude snow skiing down Broadway Blvd in Galveston! (The Great Snowstorm of 1988)

TSA to reduce restrictions as far as sharp objects that can be carried on board commercial airliners.
Reason: Politicians don’t fly commercial.(My take on it)
Same reason Jorge w Bush doesn’t secure the border. Everywhere he has a home it is guarded better than Fort Knox.
So if it does not effect you, who the Hades cares?!!

Well I guess the strength of the Republican party is, well not that strong when it comes to Hillary.
35 Mike Smith, just in case you want to read it all for yourself.

Bloomberg is RINO. He ran under the Republican banner on the coat tails of Giuliani.
WARNING SHAMELESS SOLICITATION
If you really love your humble moderator squawkbox and would like to get me something really unique and thoughtful for Christmas , oh sorry I meant as a Holiday Gift, may I suggest this. Hey it only lists for $120000.
Feagan, referring to Bloomburg as a “conservative”, because he’s a Republican is the same as referring to all Democrats as being the same as the slobbering imbeciles at the DU.
He is a liberal in Republican clothing.
Squawk, Mike. If NYC is 5:1 dem to repub, why in the world would Bloomburg need the GOP ? by your standards is Giulani (sp?) not a RINO as well ?
Please show me the political philisophical differences between the two. I see none.
Also if he is a Liberal, why did/does he receive the enthusiastic support of the NY GOP ?
Squawk, Have to take a longer look at your new Camera, I love photog. Not a lot of time lateley,so I have not kept up for a while.
And what “boy” does not like big trucks ? The bigger the better, oooops did I say that, I mean I am a liberal environmentalist…….. uhhhhh gotta go…
49 Malcolm, blood pumping Politically. Only politically.
yeah the D70 is NICE

Bwahahahaha man that was funny.

#59 Ditto the rich part

That had to be great times. I never got to go to those shows. I did see a few concerts and wrestling matches there. Awww but I digress. I also like to make truck shows. Not these monster trucks but tractors.
#62 Went to a few monster truck shows with the kid before he grew out of it. That is a different crowd. Oh and the concerts downtown, that started a whole new topic a few weeks ago when we all started to show ur age.
SC
#63
Yeah I remember the concert thing. Anyway I have this thing for old machinery, trucks, and cars.
Ummm excuse me squawk.
Yes
you are flaming and ranting here.
Ok I’ll stop.
bwahahahaha
Two great reads for all who think El Presidente JWB is looking out for the USA……..

I would consider that an acceptable flaming. The sad thing is that the RAVENS SUCK TOO.
This has got to be a Houston Texans fan right now. Fan is on the right btw.
well squawk no that you have a camera words of warning DO NOT buy any media at Best Buy Circut City Ect. unless it is on a rebate if you want a good deal try fry’s(ok normal prices) or http://www.tigerdirect.com or even http://www.newegg.com(better for computer parts though)
all the normalo retail stores are a ripoff unless they have rebates so either stoop so low to get the chronical on a sunday or check out online adds
