I don’t know whether this is the fault of the Chronicle or the Houston Police Department (yes, we still have a police department), but this story could use a little more information:
Masked gunmen fatally shot a man tonight inside a northwest Houston car wash, police said. The shooting occurred about 7 p.m. in the office at Top Shine Hand Car Wash, 7503 North Main.
The owner of the car wash and an employee also were in the office at the time but were not attacked by the gunmen who wore black ski masks and were armed with semi-automatic pistols, police said.
That’s the entire description. No age, height, weight, build, scars, tattoos, eye or hair color, vehicle description or anything else. And you sure can’t mention their race. We’ve got a better description of the guns than we do of the bad guys. That’s pretty troubling when you consider the brazen and violent nature of the crime.
All we have to go on is this: If you see two or more guys with ski masks and guns (semi-automatic!), you should call the police. Gee, thanks.

I saw this on the news while I was getting ready for work this morning.
I think that’s all they have. Apparently, they walked in, said nothing, shot the guy several times, then ran away.
What I’m wondering is what else might’ve been going on at that car wash, other than hot foam.
There has to be more. At least tell me how many guys there were. Was it two, five, 80, or what?
It was two, according to the witnesses. Wearing masks. Running away, with guns.
As you said, any running men wearing masks and carrying guns should be reported.
I think they said on the news it was 2 guys. Apparently the race could not be determined because of the ski masks. You would think if the witnesses were observant enought to recognize that they were carrying a semi-auto gun, that they would have seen the skin color of their hands. Maybe they were wearing gloves too? Who knows. The ski masks could have been covering the hair, so there goes that. Height, build, clothes, shoes, were not mentioned.
Either these guys were 2 very nondescript pro assassins, or there’s more to this story than we know yet. Sounds sort of suspicious that the guys who saw the thing go down seem to have covered all the angles of non-identifiable information so well.

I thought the same, and I’m sure the cops are doing GSR (CSI term) tests on them to make sure their only involvement was, indeed, as witnesses.
#5 - remember, it’s HPD we’re talking about here, although I give at least one of them kudos for calling out the department over its chase policy. It sure was fun watching that mom trying to put some smackdown on that idiot this morning…
Definitely.
No money taken? Robbery motive ruled out.
Two men in ski masks? A crime of passion ruled out.
Isn’t it true that victims of murder are statistically more likely to be familiar with their murderer(s) than not?
There is a lot of gang action in that area, including MS-13.
Yesterday there was an Amber alert out for a kidnapped child in a gray Chevy. Gave the plate number, but didn’t say if it was a car, pickup, or SUV, 2 door, four door etc. This was on the TxDOT signs over the freeways.
Would like to get TexasAC’s view on this.
Big45
I saw signs on 610 saying it was a pickup truck in the morning on the south loop. It was also on a couple of web sites dealign with Texas News.
I got robbed and went to the police station. I gave them a detailed politically correct description of the culprit. This is what they came up with. Anyone sees this guy call the police.
