Fur flying on City Council

According to KPRC-TV, there may be a cat fight developing on Houston City Council. At-large councilwoman Shelley Sekula-Gibbs and Mayor pro-tem Carol Alvarado went at it on Tuesday.

Sekula-Gibbs and other council members said Alvarado repeatedly called her by a derogatory name.

"Every time I bring up the word T-ML … expletive depletives come out of her mouth. That’s unfortunate, but actually they’ve been coming out all along. Would you like to speak in the microphone?" Sekula-Gibbs said to Alvarado.

When Alvarado was asked what she said to Sekula-Gibbs, she replied, "No, I mean, you can listen to the tape. There’s nothing on the mic."

It is not clear what “expletive depletives” are, but Mayor White rode to the rescue by telling the council members to settle their differences like the women in that beer commercial who ripped each other’s clothes off.

Actually, he just told them to fight for their neighborhoods instead of with each other.

Just another liberal bad-mouthing a conservative.

Too bad they don’t throw out their trash. Alvarado should be sent to “sensitivity training,” since her side prefers feel good measures rather than constructive efforts.

Pmartin, that would be Texas Municipal League, those arseholes who take city of houston money (and Alvararado is president elect, or rather WOULD BE, if the city pays it’s dues) and then go and lobby in austin to stop appraisal caps…. Your tax dollars at work…

Well, since I do care about Houston and like it here, I’m not gettin out. What we can do is be a pain in the a$$ to our elected officials to do the right thing…. Like maybe put a muzzle on Sheila BitchJackson Lee, but that’s besides the point. At least I’m not in her district anymore.

if Shelley Sekula-Gibbs called Carol Alvarado a “female dog”…

the reverse reaction from all the liberial establishment would occur…

….there would be weeks and months of telling Sekula-Gibbs to resign

…there would be press conferences from lulac etc of such derogatory statements that
dehumanize hispanics and another example of the underlying cancer of disrespect and rascism,
the call for to create more hispanics districts to represent them, more opportunities and other non related demands,etc

but since its Carol Alvarado who “punk” Shelley Sekula-Gibbs its just difference of opinion…
