I wander if his “clients” were male or female? He looks a little swishy to me. Not that there is anything wrong with that!

  2. headshaker on February 17th, 2006 at 1:18 pm

I think he should hook up with Jeff Gannon.

  3. Owen Courrèges on February 17th, 2006 at 1:18 pm

His clients were definitely men. I googled his prostitute stage name — Todd Sharpe — and found this:

You guys are missing the real scandal.

Evidently, Mr. Malin was a “Mary Kay” man.

Tom was recognized as one of the top recruiters and sellers with Mary Kay and one of only 3 men to ever earn the use of the highly coveted Pink Cadillac.–ToddMalin.com

He sounds like a perfect Democrat to me. I don’t see what all the hub-bub is about.

His biggest problem is that he is running in a “red state”. He needs to move up North somewhere, maybe around Boston, and run. He’ll do fine.

Except for the Mary Kay(TM) stuff. He needs to get that off his resume pronto (Northerners don’t “get” Mary Kay(TM).

He’s running for a seat in the House from Dallas, he should be fine. He’s a Democrat and Dallas is a very liberal city. If he had been a Republican, the party would not even let him run. Democrats elect this kind of candidate all the time. Look at Barney Frank!

There are Gay Republicans in office.

    The gay conservative?
The success of Log Cabin can be seen in the re-elections of Congressman Jim Kolbe of Arizona, a gay Republican supported by LCR. Additionally, Mike Gin, the current mayor of Redondo Beach, is also openly gay and was endorsed by LCR.

I’d bet there are more than these 2.

  11. Robert on February 17th, 2006 at 2:22 pm

This guy is not worried. He figures he’s a Democrat and that automatically gives him a free pass by the liberal media. Heck!! If they can pass Bill Clinton on his harmonal indiscretions, this should be okay. The only problem the Democrats have is how do we tax this guy on his earnings????

Oh!! And Barney wants to know if he does parties??

  12. fouralarm on February 17th, 2006 at 2:49 pm

He’s just following the trail blazed by “Fred Garvin, Male Prostitute”

D’oh! It is not being gay it is because he is a prostitute, just like Barney Frank’s partner did. It would be the same if a straight candidate came out and said he/she had been a prostitute!

  16. Jeremy Weidenhof on February 17th, 2006 at 3:55 pm

Maybe this guy is bucking to get on the Vice Squad for that Virginia Sheriff’s Department. The one that allows sex acts as “evidence gathering.” Surely they must need someone to work the male prostitution detail, and this guy seems rather well equipped.

  17. pmartin on February 17th, 2006 at 4:01 pm

Malin said he’s been sober for 13 years after being addicted to alcohol. He said he grew up in an abusive household and that he was abused physically, emotionally and sexually as a child.

Well, there you go! He was forced into prostitution because of his childhood circumstances! That alone should get him some sympathy votes! And he wants to bring “ethics” back to Austin? Yeppers, typical Dem!

  18. greenb on February 17th, 2006 at 5:16 pm

So he was a prostitute, so anyone who wanted to get “screwed” called him. However all the politicians in office “screw” us, why are they not called prostitutes as well? The only difference being the politician does not give you any warning when your getting “screwed”. I think he would do a good job in office. There is not a big difference in job duties. Both are in it for the money/favors. The only difference is the prostitute is making the people he/she sees happy. One may be politically correct however both are the same in the end…… Someone’s end….

  22. Freeman on February 17th, 2006 at 7:11 pm

pmartin #10: maybe you or someone can help me. I’ve always been curious. And I shouldn’t even be asking this. But the Gay GOP call themselves the “Log Cabin” republicans. So what does it mean? Log Cabin? Its not what I think is it? Well you know… Log > Cabin. Or is it Log

You are correct and that rear end is the American people’s end.

As I have stated before, the American people are Ned Beatty’s character and our Politicians are the Hillbilly man in the movie Deliverance.

    Sooooouuuuuueeeeeeee!!!!

  24. Freeman on February 17th, 2006 at 7:21 pm

22 cont’d: (my last msg got cut in half) Or is Log Cabin or the “Log” part some kind of phalec symbol? And of course the “cabin” part is self explanatory. Hey I know this is a clean chat board. I’m pushing the envelope here. But one must stay informed must’nt one? The quest for knowledge is an important motivation. But anyway is there some sort of symbolic meaning to their name? Or am I just nuts? Or both?

  25. gregg aka"T-Bone" on February 17th, 2006 at 7:32 pm

If I were a gay man,not that there is anything wrong with that,I dont think I would be attracted to a guy with a 8″ member. Me thinks I would be hanging around the gay Chinese bars. Just my two cents.

  26. neocon on February 17th, 2006 at 7:34 pm

The situaion is not GAY but PROSTITUTE! It is one thing being gay (not that there is anything wrong with that), but the prostitute is the subject>

  27. Golden Adam on February 17th, 2006 at 7:51 pm

If “bottom” means what I think it does, he would make a terrible Rep. I thought it was the other way around when it comes to representative government.

You raise an interesting point. Would the Sheriff’s squad in VA go after gay prostitution, next? Will they allow touching and oral contact in that case?

I bet not. Because they “aren’t enjoying” the hetero duty, they would then have to do it “both ways” in order to be equally enforcing all laws.

I believe Log Cabin Republicans caim they are the Republicans of Lincoln party (i.e., log cabin).

  34. squawkbox on February 19th, 2006 at 2:50 pm

    pmartin & Freeman

    Log Cabin Republicans
From their webpage and history section

The name of the organization is a reference to the first Republican President of the United States, Abraham Lincoln, who was born in a Log Cabin. President Lincoln built the Republican Party on the principles of liberty and equality. The party should return to its roots. When the organization was founded, the name, “Lincoln Club” was already taken by another GOP group, so organizers settled on the name Log Cabin Republicans.
