What a jackass. I sent my letter. Will it see the light of day? Nope! I think I will just let Dan take care of him! Hmmmmm! That feels good!

  2. pmartin on March 5th, 2006 at 11:30 pm

David, I think you posted that House Journal transcript once or twice. Where can I go to take a look at it?

  3. pmartin on March 5th, 2006 at 11:38 pm

David, just tried to go back in and comment with anoher email address and they have taken down that screen. The only screen you get is if you want to register to receive “newspaper”.

  4. KRAUT on March 6th, 2006 at 6:16 am

Does anyone actually expect the truth from a newspaper or Fred Hill and his ilk? Where is our local paper on this?

  5. PBFloyd on March 6th, 2006 at 6:30 am

That they (DMN) would be willing to post a quote like that is such a well documented lie, without calling him on it, makes them complicit in spreading this misinformation.

Sounds like they are as truth challenged as our local ‘Pack-of-Lies’, otherwise known as the Houston Chronicle.

Look at the rats running for the scuppers! Just another example of another typical, lying, mealy-mouth politician.

  6. PBFloyd on March 6th, 2006 at 6:32 am

1st paragraph: ‘which is such’, sorry for the oversight…….

  7. golfer1 on March 6th, 2006 at 6:36 am

I was routed to the “Letters to the Editor” section, where I used both quotes and told the good folks of Dallas that Fred Hill is responsible for their higher property taxes.

  8. Unfair Tax on March 6th, 2006 at 8:53 am

I only hope that Dan wins without a run off. He needs to get back on the air and really turn up the heat on these lying politicians. I hope bush’s, hutchinson’s, perry’s, dewhurst’s and cradick’s a_ _ gets so hot they have to set in a tub of water too cool off for all their uncaring attitude toward the voters. I know I won’t be voting for any of them come November as they haven’t done jack squat to lower taxes, reduce spending or stop illegal immigration.

  9. An Observer on March 6th, 2006 at 9:14 am

Someone tell Fred Hill that we know he is lying about his voting record. He is NOT for reducing taxes, and has demonstrated this with his attack against lowering the ‘tax cap’

  10. EdwinE on March 6th, 2006 at 9:15 am

It all depends on the meaning of “that”.

  11. LTC on March 6th, 2006 at 11:03 am

will be only voting on the contested ballots and not the unopposed.

just to send a message to the incumbents

    p.s. “remember the alamo !”

  12. bweldon on March 6th, 2006 at 12:16 pm

Fred is a career politican.. When his lip are moving and sound is coming out, he is lying… does that really supprise anyone.. The key is to hold him accountable for those lies.

  13. gadboy on March 6th, 2006 at 1:33 pm

I still don’t think Dan is going to be effective. No other legislator is going to want to work with him to get anything passed.

  14. ihaterinos on March 6th, 2006 at 1:45 pm

So gadboy (#13) you are saying just leave things the same old way in Austin because Dan won’t be able to get along with RINOs? You know what I say, “Get rid of those “RINO’s” that do not work with Dan because he is starting the Texas “Reagan” revolution! I hope we get a Dan Patrick in Montgomery County to get rid of RINO Judge Barb Sadler!

  15. gadboy on March 6th, 2006 at 1:59 pm

Dan couldn’t get anything done in Harris County. It just amazes me that you think he can get something done in Austin. I would have faith in him if he knew anything about compromise and tolerance for people who think differently than he does.

  16. pmartin on March 6th, 2006 at 2:30 pm

    Gadboy,

Have you ever seen a precinct map of Senate District 7? It is huge, the biggest in Harris County and probably the rest of the state. This represents a huge block of voters. No one running for a state office ever won without Harris County. No, Dan will do just fine!

  17. skigib on March 6th, 2006 at 3:07 pm

I agree with Gadboy, Dan won’t be able to get anything done. In fact if there is more than one Senator up there we might have a difference of opinion and nothing could get done. I think Gadboy is right- just have Fred Hill as the only Senator. I mean, won’t more get accomplished if there is no difference of opinion? Whatever you do don’t vote for someone who thinks like you do, it might not work out. Jeez Louise Gadboy!

  18. DanielJames on March 6th, 2006 at 4:17 pm

I think what gadboy is missing is that Dan will be an insider with a radio to spew the insider gabage from.

Talk about dirty laundry. Maybe gadboy is afraid of change?

And you say he hasnt gotten anything done?

I say he has stirred the hornets nest and gotten many voters off their asses.

I have family members that never vote….this time round they early voted for DAN!

  19. pmartin on March 6th, 2006 at 4:54 pm

Dan couldn’t get anything done in Harris County. It just amazes me that you think he can get something done in Austin.

Just what was Dan supposed to getting done in Harris County? He has not held an elective office in Harris County. As a citizen, he has done more than our supposed “elected officials” insofar as the property tax caps are concerned. His work against the Stadiums, even though they were approved, were approved with high voter turnout, both pro and con. Had it not been for Dan doing what he had done about the stadiums, the measure would have passed 80% - 20%

Dan has done more than most politicians and most good citizens without holding office!

BTW…Someone has trounced or removed many Bear Creek yard signs.

I am just waiting for my signs to be jacked with!

I will protect my private property! LOL

The main reason the stadium issue passed is the fact that too many voters are too lazy to vote, they do not care, they only keep complaining.
And the minorities were promised STUFF, (which they had not yet received) and they voted overwhelmingly for passage.

    You going tomorrow night?

  23. Big45Iron on March 6th, 2006 at 8:02 pm

Gadboy, Dan is just the first one. When the political hacks in Austin see him win without a runoff, and they know CLOUT is targeting their district next (like we did with Carter Casteel who is backpedaling faster than Lance Armstrong can go forward), they will change their tune. If not, then we’ll target enough for defeat until they vote our way. It’s as simple as that. CLOUT’s last count has 22,000+ HOUSEHOLDS as members. Count those 44,000 votes and those they influence. After this election it will grow big time. Now if you get 22,000 households to kick in $20-$50 bucks each, that can influence the information that gets out to voters.

Couple that with more conservative talk shows in Texas voicing the message, and you’ll watch them shun the lobbyists just so they can stay in office and keep their pension (something else I hope Dan does away with).

Gadboy, this is a prairie fire that Fred Hill has lit, and there isn’t a fire department big enough to put it out.

As another commented earlier, “I’ll be there with bells on!”

Gotta be up at 5:30 to get ready for the polling. Put up signs, get ready for he 7:00 “crowd” and hand em push cards till 10:00! I don’t get up for ANYBODY at 5: freakin 30 in the morning. To me, that’s the middle of the night! But, Dan is worth it and nobody stepped forward to do the polling job.

  25. Maximus on March 6th, 2006 at 8:44 pm

    #13 Gadbot,
Effective is moving people to action; Dan has done this and will exponentially when elected!

I don’t remember any politician, at any time, speaking about appraisal caps. Now the main line in every political ad starts with “I’m fighting for the taxpayers” “to lower our taxes” “I will fight for appraisal caps”! These have only recently been adopted as the huen cry of the ‘hopeful to be’ Re/Elected politicians. Only when asked specifically in direct live discussion did any politicians ever speak out about these once taboo catch phrases, and even then the subject would be confused with doublespeak!

I would say Dan has made a great difference already, and you would have to be stupid not to know that any sitting politician will do any thing they think is popular so they don’t get left behind, read ‘voted out’!

“Build it (a popular ‘cause’ like appraisal tax reform) and they will come”
Gadboy, wake up and smell the river!
