Damn, I went to pick up some Mehicans to work today and they were all downtown protesting. Damn Republicans!! Maybe we can get some of those cheap Chinese slaves to immigrate to Texas. Those pointy straw hats will help them in the Tejas heat.

It’s funny, because these kids are just jumping on the bandwagon (unless they happen to be the ‘anchor children’ of illegals).

What’s sad is that they actually buy into the line that opposing illegal immigration is the same as opposing legal immigration.

What’s even sadder is that Bush is telling people that opposing illegal immigration is the same as opposing legal immigration.

Where’s the excuse for this, Sarge? And I vote REPUBLICAN…

I bet though that the students with good grades stayed in school and worked hard to make something of themselves.

  4. jimb on March 28th, 2006 at 5:33 pm

I actually heard some kid from one of these protests saying that ‘their’ rights were being denied. I was scratching my head a bit on that one.

I don’t know, but I doubt any of the Asians are looking for work. I also doubt that we have a lot of Asians on welfare. They seem to do really well in school as education seems to be a high priority, and in general they are a great asset to our country.

be a senior copy editor for the Comical?

    Bah!

I have my hands full right now being the features editor for a website that has four articles a month that are written by a marginally educated, semi-literate, needy, clingy broad who has the journalstic skills of a typical third grade ‘Slam Book’ author…

Come to think of it, that describes the Chron reporters, eh…

  7. Astrosmith on March 28th, 2006 at 5:57 pm

Wouldn’t “Yes We Can” actually be “!Si, Podemos!”

    Tontos…

  8. KRAUT on March 28th, 2006 at 6:05 pm

On the positive side, our local TV stations actually have somthing to report, even if they seem to be on the side of the lawbreakers.
At least they are able to break the monotony of house fires and car wrecks.

  9. MAXAMUS on March 28th, 2006 at 6:12 pm

    #6 AL,
You work for Max Kelly on You’ve been left.net?
No offense to marginally educated, semi-literate, needy, clingy broad who has the journalstic skills of a typical third grade ‘Slam Book’ author…
    E-D:)

Damn, I too when to pick up some Mexicans to work today and they were all downtown protesting. And the ones who were not there were in the ER.

Solution to all, this is to annex the counties south of the Rio Grand, Send the Texas Rangers to clean up the lawless in the new Texas counties. Next year do the same till we reach Mexico City or points south. They would not be ILLEGALS Via Texas!

  11. kidwittehtape on March 28th, 2006 at 8:00 pm

can i skip school to blog and protest looser restrictions or i could skip school and volunteer on the border with the minute men?

  12. Rahman on March 28th, 2006 at 8:19 pm

Those kids are participating in our political process.
We may agree/disagree with the issue they are protesting but they should be applauded for becoming politically aware at this young age.
I hope politicians everywhere in the country are taking notice that suddenly America has woken up from it’s long trance!

  13. Matt "Zilla" Bramanti on March 28th, 2006 at 8:23 pm

Rahman, no one is saying these kids shouldn’t participate in the political process. We’re saying they should do it outside the hours of 8:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. or on the weekends.

And I don’t know how “politically aware” these guys are. I’d bet you dollars to doughnuts that if you asked the average truant protester why he’s protesting, you’d get an answer along the lines of “because this country is racist.”

    In Spanish.

  14. kidwittehtape on March 28th, 2006 at 8:50 pm

now i f i skipped school to protest, i almost did oneday last year, for some KSEV protest i don’t remember what in austin but my dad could not take me at the last minute

  15. Golden Adam on March 28th, 2006 at 9:01 pm

Film at 10 I’m sure. Should be fun to watch.

  16. neocon on March 28th, 2006 at 9:10 pm

These kids are “protesting” so that they don’t have to go to school. “Sensitive” principals let them do their thing. Keep their asses in school. If they want to protest, do it on their own time. I’ll bet that will cut down the numbers.

  17. m9777 on March 28th, 2006 at 9:12 pm

….I skipped school one day while I was in H.S. When caught, the vice-principal/executioner gave me 2 choices…take 5 licks or tell my Dad what I’d done. No problemo…I took the licks! Then the vice-principal/executioner called my Dad. I still remember how bad that hurt!

  18. Golden Adam on March 28th, 2006 at 9:14 pm

I’m curious…was it a walk out type of thing, or did they just not show up?

  19. davewolfgang on March 28th, 2006 at 10:15 pm

What I think is funny is that all the politicians are listening to people WHO CAN’T EVEN VOTE!!!!!

    So why did I vote?!?!?!

is the Chron looking for a senior editor or a senor’ editor…ole!

  22. Sonia E. Alaniz on March 29th, 2006 at 7:49 am

Is that how they dress to go to school? Wow! My Mom would not have allowed that! Now we can’t tell where the baggy clothes end and the fat starts.

  23. Sonia E. Alaniz on March 29th, 2006 at 7:50 am

You really think Mayor Yoda will take time to talk to the students? Somehow I doubt it.

  24. fxdriver on March 29th, 2006 at 9:28 am

#12 Rahman, you can’t be serious!
“Those kids are participating in our political process.”
Screaming and yelling in Spanish and broken English and waving Mexican flags, denouncing the U.S. and its citizens, and demanding non-existant rights is not particpating in the political process. Gaining lawful citizenship, becoming a registered voter and then showing up and voting on election day is participating in the political process.
“We may agree/disagree with the issue they are protesting but they should be applauded for becoming politically aware at this young age.”
What political awareness are you talking about? These kids aren’t even politically aware of the fact that the country whose flag they so proudly wave would never tolerate this type of behavior on it’s own soil! IF they were so politically aware they and their parents would do what OUR forefathers did: fight and win their own freedoms instead of trying to undermine our laws!
“I hope politicians everywhere in the country are taking notice that suddenly America has woken up from it’s long trance!”
This has to be the most moronic statement you’ve made so far! Our politicians should be paying attention to American voters, not Mexican protestors, much less a bunch of stupid (yes, STUPID) kids. That wasn’t America out there protesting, it was illegal aliens and the children of illegal aliens and, to the extent that any of them were legitimate citizens, the rest should have their citizenship revoked in my opinion. How DARE they behave in this manner! How DARE they protest this country! How DARE our elected officials not put a stop to this immediately! How DARE Mayor White and Councilman Alvarado encourage it! The vast majority of Americans want our southern border closed and we don’t want any more illegal aliens turning our cities into Tiajuana. (Have you driven along Airline on a Saturday lately?) We want our elected representatives to represent US, not grant amnesty to criminals, issue temporary worker visas to criminals, or compromise on this issue in any way. How any American, much less a native Texan, could see video of the shenanigans that have gone on for the last two days and not be incensed is beyond me! This is not about racism, this is about nationalism and the fact that it is American culture that needs to be preserved, not good relations with a poor and ungrateful neighbor to the south. America may be waking up, but not in the way you think!

(Sorry about the rant, folks, but I am P**SED and this guy just pushed my button!)
