If this isn’t proof that it really IS about the money, I really cannot fathom what would be.

I might point out that it is not just St. Luke’s doing this. Blue Cross/Blue Sheild is in the background forcing St. Luke’s hand. They have stopped paying for her care even though they were mighty happy to take Ms. Clark’s money when it came time to pay the premiums. What in hell is the point of buying insurance when they won’t pay the piper when the time comes?

The scary part is that that is who my employer’s health coverage is through.

As I mentioned before about this case, and others. It is the INSURANCE company and HOSPITAL ADMINISTRATOR that drives many of these battles. Doctors are no longer able to practice medicine!

I don’t see much difference with this story and the story of the Mexican hospital below. It really is a sad day. What EVER became of the hippocratic oath?

The legislature needs to amend the Perry Tax Bill to include the PERRY MOVING TAX this should increase the state’s coffer for wasteful school spending or better yet the Elected Official’s General Retirement Fund. This way they can make some money on her before and as she is leaving the state. I need to call my representatives as I know those vultures don’t want to miss out on this taxing opportunity. Ain’t this a great State with the politicians always trying to tax and spend.

I used to work there. Unfortunately, I suffered a career-ending injury while employed there. They treated me not much better than Ms. Clark is being treated: after promising to help me with whatever I needed, I was given notice and “fired” (although they couldn’t call it that; I ran out of vacation and sick days) as soon as I could not work at my original job. Although there were other jobs I could have done, they would not retrain me or help me in any other way to find another job.
Whose fault is it that Ms. Clark is in her state? Perhaps the physicians don’t want to be reminded of their inability to help her???

They forgot to mention that Ms. Clark was a ‘blue baby’ when born. Does that problem not create increased risks?
