I agree about the medals. They gave the ultimate sacrifice.

I did not see The Passion, so in all probability will not see this one. I want to say I feel guilt, sadness and pain to think of that day. Guilt that we were not prepared for this monstrosity. Some gave all.

    Required viewing for citizenship

    Alamo for Texas residency

This will have far reaching consequences more than every movie

Next to the Passion - I have never seen a movie attacked so much

    I wonder why?

  4. Adee on April 28th, 2006 at 7:30 am

If this is anywhere close to the quality of the TV movie aired a few weeks ago, most of the audience will view it through a cascade of tears. However instead of weaking the will to protect our own, it will do quite the opposite. Let no one mistake, tears here are no weakness.

And that is apparently what the Neville Chamberlains, those appeasers at all costs–until it’s too late–fear. They will be forced to pull their heads out of the sand, or out of whatever place their heads have been thrust, and have a bucket of reality flung full in their faces.

Indeed the heroes of Flight 93 deserve medals (Medal of Freedom?) in addition to our greatest admiration for their courage and our moral support of and respect for their surviving families and friends. Ordinary people doing extraordinary things–the stuff that built America and sustains her.

  5. The Dude on April 28th, 2006 at 7:42 am

I have seen The Passion, but I watched it in my home (I bought the DVD). It was very difficult to watch, and I don’t mind telling you that my wife and I both cried like babies. Despite the difficulty of watching The Passion, I have no regrets about having watched it. I think the same will be true of United 93. I’m not sure if I’ll see it in the theater, but I will see it.

I will be a basket case in the movie itself.

Along with 99.9% of the other viewers, including me and anyone else who loves America.

    Some gave all.

Yes ma’am, they did. For that we can only be eternally grateful.

  6. Rastus on April 28th, 2006 at 7:44 am

Who cares about a(ny) movie - it’s just more emotional fiction.

  7. The Dude on April 28th, 2006 at 7:56 am

    Rastus,

Are you saying you don’t believe United Flight 93 crashed in western PA on 9/11/01? Or are you just saying you think the movie version of the event is “emotional fiction”, but the event was real? I’m confused here.

  8. headshaker on April 28th, 2006 at 8:12 am

    #7 Dude

Obviously the plane crashed. Was it shot down, who really knows? There is evidence for both theories.

The bottom line is the people who tried to thwart the attack are heroes no matter what.

The one problem I have is with the proposed $60 million memorial out in the middle of nowhere. Can’t they do a very nice memorial for maybe $10 million and use the rest of the money to help a lot more people? Maybe that’s just the Socialist coming out in me.

    # 4 correction, weakening the will…

  10. The Dude on April 28th, 2006 at 8:21 am

    HS,

Yeah, I know what you mean about the plane obviously crashing. It seems to me that, at least on the website, they give equal time to the theory of United 93 being shot down. That’s what confuses me about Rastus’ comment. It seems to me he’s passing a negative judgement on the film before he’s even seen it. I was hoping he’d give us a little clarification rather than just a “drive-by” style comment.

  11. j kathi smith on April 28th, 2006 at 8:23 am

This movie is very timely. Too many have forgotten that day, as well as the shock that we felt as we watched the news reels. For those that were in New York, visitors on the streets like my friend, they will never forget the screams, the sights and smells. For so many flight 93 is a fading news reel, nothing more. We must never forget. We are fighting an enemy we allowed into our homes and now he will kill us if given the chance.

    NEVER FORGET!

  12. Eric Johnson on April 28th, 2006 at 8:29 am

the was no evidence, I repeat no evidence that the plane was shot down at all - just a DLWM nastiness of the lowest scum indicator

Lets all Stick to facts not fiction, if that were even remotely true everyone would still be in congressional and impeachment hearings,

We all have to be careful - that could be an accusation and a condemnation of the worst sort to these brave people on the flight

Surely, you don’t mean that the entire story was fiction do you?

    “Who really knows”

We all do know won’t we

Lets keep it on an American level today, we owe it to the families not to trash their loved ones deaths by giving even mention to the lefts worst screed.

  13. The Dude on April 28th, 2006 at 8:41 am

I agree with you, Eric. I feel the same way about conspiracy theories concerning the twin towers. I’d just like a bit of clarification from Rastus. His lack of response is leading me to place him in the category of troll, but that’s just me. But I agree, this is about the heroes on United 93, not about a troll named Rastus. Good call, Eric.

  14. Smacktle on April 28th, 2006 at 11:44 am

Here is conspiracy movie that shows a lot of information about 9/11. It’s not hat I agree,
but if you watch the movie it’s kind of creepy.
The movie is an hour long. My contention about
the conspiracy is that if 4 planes and 2 buildings
suddenly blow up one day, too many people would
have to know about it. Eventually the secret
    would get out.

I love to see the left screwing themselves into the ground spinning back and forth between the idea that Bush is the dumbest mammal alive and the concept of Bush/Rove as evil geniuses masterminding a completely airtight coverup of the largest “secret mission” in U.S. history.

  16. gregg aka"T-Bone" on April 28th, 2006 at 12:39 pm

I hear they are already making a Spanish version of United 93. The actor who plays Todd Beamer shouts “permite el rollo”

  17. Hank on April 28th, 2006 at 12:56 pm

It should not be that hard to find residue from a sidewinder in the wreckage. It ought not be hard to prove that the plane was shot down. So until I see this evidence it is much easier to believe that it is just a rumor.

  18. navymom on April 28th, 2006 at 12:59 pm

No one is being forced to watch this film. People should quit crying about it. It was made, so be it. If you don’t like it, just don’t spend your hard-earned dollars to go see it!

    Dude,

God Bless Dude, I had a more elequent reply to you earlier about 10,000 Rastnus’s who hate america on one side and your feelings on the flight 93 48 on the other the scales are tipped heavily in your prayers - I’ve seen your posts I know where you stand.

Take care - God save our country

  21. gregg aka"T-Bone" on April 28th, 2006 at 1:04 pm

I think it was shot down but that still doesnt change anything. Does anyone think our government is honest? C’mon,Area 51?

  22. Boxie0406 on April 28th, 2006 at 1:05 pm

Ok, I admit that I am spoiled to my DVD player. I can count on one hand the movies I have seen at the movie house in the last 20 years…having said this, I want to go see this one in a theater. I want a lot of people around me when I see it. I don’t know why.

I have not seen the other two movies made about this incident. I also wonder why, on September 11th of ever year, we don’t see the news coverage this entire incident got when it happened. Seemed to me it went on for weeks..and now, nothing.

Not even a rumor, just an attempt by scum to discredit the extreme sacrifice and bravery of ordinary americans in an extraordinary moment.

They want to replace it with incompetence and ad-hoc murder chanrges against Bush

This should stop - let’s all believe that Beamer and the passengers took back what was lost on one of America’s darkest moments

Those whose behavior since 9/11 that has not been in the spirit of 93 - well - I’m sure they wouldn’t want to see it

    It’s called consequences

flight 93 is about the resolve of patriots to do their duty without the lights, the fanfare, the glory, I want to believe and I do believe

    Is that so hard

    See post 23

I know its hard for someone who has heard and been influenced by so much blame and hate and animosity by the MSM and the DNC but this isn’t political is AMERICAN

but as far that you go down the wrong road, Turn back Gregg

They were brave people, you are being convinced by weak people afraid of the consequences of their actions

The official 9/11 Commission Report is a work of fiction.

The sooner we all realize that, the better.

  27. Ree-C Murphey on April 28th, 2006 at 2:45 pm

To all those that think whatever the prevailing or conventional wisdom is “fiction” or “wrong”, please specify.

#26 lil mikey: What do you mean?

“The official 9/11 Commission Report is a work of fiction.

The sooner we all realize that, the better.”

    The report was in-accurate because…….?

  28. Peter on April 28th, 2006 at 2:47 pm

Whenever you debate any of the crazy conspiracy theorists, it is best to steer them to this site:

    http://www.popularmechanics.com/science/defense/1227842.html?page=1&c=y

It is a Popular Mechanics article that directly addresses the most common fantasies churned out by people who have little to no knowledge of actual facts.

Information on Flight 93 starts on Page 7.

  29. gregg aka"T-Bone" on April 28th, 2006 at 3:13 pm

#20.Normally Eric I wouldnt even make a joke like that. However today,The National Anthem was re-written and recorded in Spanish. You mark my words it will be played in stadiums and schools. BTW, when United 93 is sent around the world and translated the Beamer character will say “permite el rollo” before they charge the cockpit. Lighten up dude.

  30. lil mikey on April 28th, 2006 at 3:28 pm

    Ree-C,

My suggestion is to watch the movie Smacktle linked to above, and read the Pop Mech article Peter linked, and let each make up their own mind.

I did the above and much, much more (pro and con), and have concluded that the 9/11 Commission Report is a coverup.

This is the last I’ll speak of it.

  31. Big45Iron on April 28th, 2006 at 4:03 pm

Can anybody estimate the number of air traffic controllers and records that would have to be silenced and changed to pull off keeping shooting an airliner down a secret? Give me a break.

  32. Smacktle on April 28th, 2006 at 4:03 pm

“The 9/11 Commission Report is a coverup.”

Some people have to believe the worst. They don’t have enough drama or interesting things going on in their daily lives that they have to live in a fantasy world. I should know, I read and post on LST everyday. I like what an earlier poster said, that everyone wants us to believe that President Bush is such a dummy, yet he was smart enough to hatch this scheme.

The scale of this thing would have way too many people involved to be able to cover it up. 911
was and is real. The planes crashed the buildings fell and people died.

(In Smacktle’s best dark and mysterious voice he says) This is the last I’ll speak of it.

  33. The Dude on April 28th, 2006 at 4:36 pm

(In Smacktle’s best dark and mysterious voice he says)

Like The Smoking Man from X-Files? Seriously though, I think you pegged it here:

Some people have to believe the worst.

This probably isn’t the last I’ll speak of it, but it is for now.

  34. Peter on April 28th, 2006 at 4:41 pm

“This is the last I’ll speak of it.”

I’m glad this can’t be used in a court of law.

lil Mikey, will you address a single, and preferrably the biggest, cover up that exists with 9/11?

Do you believe the buildings were purposely brought down? Do you believe flight 93 was shot down? Do you believe there were military aircraft? Just give us one of the items you believe so that we can debate that instead of the broad “it was a coverup”.

  35. sunny on April 28th, 2006 at 6:25 pm

I won’t watch any movie made about 9/11. I watched the horror live on TV from beginning to end and everything that came after…I spent hours, days, weeks depressed, crying, distraught, sad and angry all at the same time. The vision is permanently embedded in my mind and in my heart…it will never fade, this I know…the emotions I felt at that horrendous time remain. I have no desire to watch any ‘Hollywood-made event’ about the day the earth stood still and the day our world and our freedoms changed forever. The perpetrators of these evil, obscene acts must be obliterated.

  36. Bill F on April 28th, 2006 at 6:57 pm

    lil mikey,

Which is it? Is GW the dumbest creature on the planet leading the most inept defense department ever and an intelligence apparatus that couldn’t fart quietly without the media hearing it? Or is he an evil mastermind with all encompassing power to silence the thousands of people who could provide firsthand testimony to the events that would have had to have taken place for 9/11 to be a government plot? The left needs to pick a story and stick with it…then again, I still can’t decide if they are FOR higher gas prices since they keep trying to pass huge gas tax increases…or AGAINST high gas prices since they keep wailing about the oil companies and GW not lowering the prices. I guess being truthful or consistent was never anything the left had to worry about before the new media came around, since Dan Rather wasn’t about to point out their hypocracy…

  37. TheRipper on April 30th, 2006 at 2:13 am

#14 - Well, after watching the movie, I have to admit I have a new found respect for GWB. Instead of the bumbling Chimpy persona he projects, we actually have an evil mastermind in charge who can fool 300 million US citizens into believing something that is so easily proved false. I’m sure the purveyor of this film has met with some form of unfortunate ‘accident’ since it’s release. In fact, I’m sure my untimely demise is not far off, as I now know the truth.
