    OK back to business:

Duke Cunningham, and possibly other lawmakers, now linked to prostitution scandal.

    http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/12521205/

We’ve got some real class acts running this country, and I mean on both sides of the fence.

Yesterday a caller on a radio talk show said that he thought they should ban the term “Public Servant” because they are now extinct. Politicians now serve only themselves.

  5. gregg aka"T-Bone" on April 29th, 2006 at 8:34 am

The other day on Rush he was talking about the Pres of Iran. Rush said something like this. “This guy has given the finger to France,UN,Germany and the rest of the world. He is going to do what the hell he wants and what he thinks is best for his country and claims to have the blessing of a higher power. He doesnt care what any other country thinks”

I thought about it for a second and it hit me. This guy is the GWB of Iraq. Now I know how the rest of the world felt when we did what we did in Iraq.

Dont get me wrong. These two men are not the same but the way they are going about their goal is very similar.

    The Hillary First Lady Stamp

Collectors are trying to snap up the short lived Stamp depicting the former first lady only a few thousand were sold in California and Texas until congressional republicans stopped the issuance of the stamp because of the numerous complaints that the Texas stamps were not sticking

The Post office official inquiry reported this

We received several stamps that were purchased in California and when the appropriate amount of human saliva was applied they stuck to the enevelope perfectly

We asked for local post offices in the Houston area to send us the returned Hillary Stamps so we could examine them

Again once the appropriate amount of saliva was placed on the stamp the Texas Stamps too stuck perfectly

What was apparent that in Texas people were spitting on the wrong side of the stamp

    #3 HS,

“Running” the country is a debateable term. I think they’re “running” it right into the ground. The only comfort in the Duke Cunningham deal is that he’s already out of office.

I am thinking about the May Day march and immigration, and getting so angry, and seeing history repeat itself.
Do you remember Mohammad, Islam’s hero? How did his followers get all their power? They had no skills or abilities. But they over-ran those who had worked and toiled their whole lives to build up their businesses and their farms, and then took over their businesses. Of course, look how prosperous the area is now, the majority of the area still in the dark ages.
The illegals don’t have the patience to start at the bottom, put a lot of money and time into becoming a citizen legally; they perfer to overwhelm those who have put their lifeblood into their businesses and farms, and take them over as their own. Well guess what will happen to those businesses?
I am so tired of the vote-whores in Congress not wanting to upset the illegals; all the new names for them so they don’t anger those who started their life in America breaking the law. I am going to go shopping Monday to support all those businesses who remain open with legal workers. I will no longer eat Tyson products, since they are shutting down their plants on Monday.
I think we should have an anti-illegal march, to let the lawmakers know that there are alot of people who will not vote for them if they continue to coddle to the illegal contingent.

In view of the coming demonstrations and boycott by Illegal aliens, and the threats and the hatred being spewed forth by these so called “latino leaders” against law abiding american citizens, I’m left without any alternatives but to boycott any and all businesses that employ Illegals. Maybe the time has come for business to advertise
    “No Illegals working here”

I heard someone say we need to take note in all the businesses that get hurt or partake in this boycott on Monday, and remember where not to go Tues., Wed., etc. We should log our sightings here.

Another note, can we convince our emergency rooms to reverse boycott on Monday?

..And the one’s that do could put up a sign that reads; “We hire illegals”. That would make it too easy! :-)
There’s one small grocery and gas mart on FM 2978 that has a sign out front that reads: WE SPEAK ENGLISH!”. Not a bad marketing idea albeit ever so crude. I surmise that he did this in response to the three gas marts/stations in the area that are run by an asian, a hispanic and a “person with a turban”.
You can guess which one that I prefer to patronize.

I agree with your very important observation. It is pretty amazing how astute our founding fathers were in wanting separation of religion and state.

    http://www.hindustantimes.com/news/181_1685901,00120001.htm

“Orthodox Shias believe that the Mahdi’s reappearance will herald an era of peace and security worldwide. When their messiah comes back, all injustices will disappear. That includes American power.”

“It’s not unlike how millions of evangelical Christians in America feel about the second coming of their messiah. They want Jesus to show up as soon as possible.”

On a side note, did Rush get a sweetheart deal or what? A Get-out-of-jail (not quite free, but a drop in the bucket for him) card.

Its funny how many kids are taken out of public school when rumors of a illegal immigrant raid are announced. When we enrolled our kids in Cy-Fair schools we had to bring all their documents and vaccinations to get them in school. How do these illegals get their kids enrolled without documents?

I got my Tax Appraisal from Paul, my shorts are too tight Bettencourt yesterday. My Appraisal went up 9.4 %, pretty close to the 10% cap. Do you think that they see a cap coming and figure the better get all they can while the can?!?!…NAH! Just a coincidence! Even if my taxes were capped to where they are today, it’s too late, they’ve doubled in the last few years. By the time I retire, I will not be able to pay them. I’m going to fix this problem in the next few years, I’ll move out of the “Peoples Republic of Taxes”, and move into the old home place in Alabama, taxes $315 a year on 45 acres and an old farm house. NO STATE AUTO INSPECTION TAX!!! If the auto inspection is not a tax then why do they let you go two years when its new but charge you for those years.

  22. Dave D on April 29th, 2006 at 10:10 am

BTW; One of the corner stones, of the founding of this country, was property ownership. In Europe almost all of the land was owned by royalty, the U.S. was different, anyone could own property if he paid for it. Any property tax is unconstitutional because if the ransom is not paid, the Gov’mint will confiscate the land.
Property taxes got started just like the income tax, when it began, it only affected a small number of people so the masses didn’t revolt. At the beginning of the twentieth century the “Homestead Exemption” was $5000, almost no one owned a house or land that was worth that much. They raised the Homestead Exemption several times but it is still a joke. Today the exemption should be whatever the median price is in an area, exempting 95% of the homeowners. In TAXES, it would be about $150,000, exempting my humble abode.

We signed our kid up for Cy-Fair this year and there was a lady in front of us that was Canadian, her nor her child had a SSN or anything stating they are citizens only the baby had a SSN due to being born here. The lady doing the registrations did not blink an eye and signed the kid up anyway. One more child enrolled means more $$ for them.

The coming May Day illegal alien parade is all courtesy of the Great Lying White Shark in the White House. He has coddled them for 6 years. He tells SOB stories of how they cross the desert to get here.

He says “they all come here to work.” He ignores the cold hard facts of illegal alien crime and the victims of that crime. He ignores the billions we citizens pay to pay for illegal aliens.

He says we have to be for “compassionate and comprehensive” immigration reform. Translated in Lying Shark English that means we continue to leave the borders wide open. The Great Lying White Shark cares not about the Oath he took to protect the USA and uphold the Constitution.

So you should send the Great Lying White Shark in the White House a thank you card for the wonderful illegal alien parade you will see on Monday.

I think the Great Lying White Shark should lead the parade wearing a sombrero, rose in his mouth and he should perform the Mexican hat dance with Vicente Fox.

  29. sanjuro on April 29th, 2006 at 10:31 am

I have an idea, something I plan to do and I hope all of y’all will to. To counter the illegal alien protests on Monday I’m contacting all my family and friends to take liquid shoe polish and paint at least one anti illegal alien slogan on their car or truck. Something short and to the point:
    AMNESTY=CHAOS, SECURE OUR BORDERS NOW!,
NO AMNESTY! HEY MEXICO, PRACTICE WHAT YOU PREACH!
Get inventive but don’t be insulting or derogatory remember the activists not to mention most of the media would like to make this a racial issue rather than a citizenship and secure border issue.
It may mean some dirty looks, extended middle fingers, not to mention keyed autos and flat tires but these kind of incidents should not only be reported to the authorities but to the media and the blogs to show what happens to honest opposition. Can you imagine what would happen if every citizen did that? the route to work would be one big counter protest march.
So fellow Texans, are you going to stand up to the reconquistas and open border activists and show you got a pair or are you gonna worry about your freakin’ wax job and knuckle under. NOW’S THE TIME TO MAKE A STAND!

    Mike;

Speaking as an alcholic with more than 20 years of sobriety, I want to thank you and all the Liberals who have set the Recopvery Community back about 30 years with your continuing use of Mr. Limbaugh’s admitted drug problem to denigrate him. Now people know that Liberals will use ANY unfortunate circumstance of being a human to denigrate those with whom they disagree, especially those who are effective in getting thier message across.

The hardest think for an addictive personality to do is to admit his problem publicly, and the principal roadblack to that is public chastisement. The Reccovery Community has for decades tried to get across the idea to idiots and uncaring dolts like you that no matter what, we should be congratulatry and supportive of those who do take that first difficult step towards sobriety and admit publicly that they have a problem.

You Liberals will stop at nothing, and it’s disgusting. I’m pretty sure that I can now look forward to having you mention my admission of acholism in the place of any coherent factual argument in any discussion of the issues we may have in the future…but I’ve come to expect that from Liberals.

BTW…the deal Rush Limbaugh got was no freaking where near as good as the one Ted Kennedy got…and as a result, Teddy continued with HIS disease for another 35 years, infecting his family and others with it’s inevitable results, bringing untold emotional pain and suffering to everybody surrounding him. Maybe if he had come forward as early as Mr. Limbagh did, there’d be some happier people in his life, and your Party wouldn’t be in so much trouble everytime that hypcrictical oaf opens his mouth.

#36 sarge - you make some good points and I agree for the most part. My only question is did Limbaugh come out before he was investigated or after? I don’t know the answer, but if he came out afterwards, did he really have a choice, and would he have tried to hide it as long as he could?

You wonder why I shake my F*****g head!™

  43. sargevining on April 29th, 2006 at 11:24 am

    Shakey:

    1. Limbagh was absent from his show many times during this period. He was seeking help at the time. This was aggravated by the fact that he was also going deaf, not a good thing for a radio personality to be going through, so you might be able to imagine the emotional struggle he was having. He did enter a Recovdry Facility on his own and before his public exposure.

    2. In the Recovery community, we do not put any conditions on admission. The most important moment of any addict’s life is when he finally realizes he has a problem, the conditions that caused that realization to come about do not enter into it. Once they have admitted thier problem, the addict should be supported, not chastised and shamed like a 4 year old who touces his pee pee. Everytime chastises or denigrates on addict, especially the more “famous” ones, they cause another 50 to go back and hide their problem in their drug of choice.

    3. Ted Kennedy killed a woman due to his disease, Rush Limbaugh got publicly embarrased. if that oulbic embarrasment is what caused him to make his admission, I congratulate him…if only to make the stark comparison between the benefits of his doing so as opposed to someone who chooses to continue in his disease Like Teddy did after Mary Jo’s funeral.

“I just came here to talk”
“Uh, I know I messed up”
“Uh, I didn’t know she was 13.” Then they are confronted with the chat transcripts.

Guess it depends on the meaning of “I wasn’t gonna do nutin”

  50. sargevining on April 29th, 2006 at 11:31 am

One more thing I am ging to point out, then it’s off to Capitalist corner:

The way Liberals treat addict people in need of recovery because of the harm it does to themselves and thier family is this:

Rush Limbaugh admits his problem and gets publicly raked over the coals for it.

Ted Kennedy kills a woman driving drunk, continues as a drunk for another 35 years, is reelected every six years by the poltical machine his family controls, being patted on the back the whole time, and even sees suppport for his Presidential Candidacy.

You wonder why me entire body quivers everytime some Liberal tries to use Limbaughs admission as a hammer?

Here’s a couple of letters to the editor from the Galveston Daily News, Saturday May 29th. I don’t I agree with every side sentiment expressed but I do know that both letters are capturing the frustation felt by thousands of Galveston County residents. More of my frustration comes from the fact the some of the leaders neglecting this problem are people I worked hard to get elected. I am still confident in President Bush and our overall leadership but we the GOP are failing America in our handling of the border.

We Should Take Care Of Texans First

My condolences to all those who have no health insurance.

I recently learned that, if you have no health insurance, you can no longer get the health care you need in Texas.

Most working families have little money left at the end of the month, so what do they do? This is totally ridiculous to me.

I know that services used to be provided for our residents in this state but, apparently, we are overloaded with illegal residents and others who have no insurance.

Our government seems to be punishing those residents who actually work in the lower-paying jobs, who have no insurance and are trying to provide for their families and not be a burden to anyone.

So, if you need health care, should you quit your job, work only for cash and pay no taxes, so that you could then receive benefits?

It seems that our government should find a way to provide health care for all those who are legal residents of this country.

Of course, we want to provide basic services to everyone, but maybe this idea of cheap labor has backfired on the economy of this and other states.

Take a look at who benefits from this labor force — not your average working American, for sure.

Many of those jobs that used to be done by Americans are no longer available and more jobs are being outsourced overseas in other countries.

Stop The Benefits To Illegal Immigrants

In Texas we do not have common politicians in our legislative offices. Our representatives have no common ground whatsoever, have lost all common values and most definitely have no common sense.

If a few of these self-serving elected officials would get off their cell phones, trying to look important, and represent the people who put them there, I am certain a light would come on and, wow, like a revolution, the solution would be forthcoming.

Let’s stop the education of illegal immigrants in Texas and stop asking Texas taxpayers to fund their education, their free breakfast and lunches at school.

While they are at it, they could stop their free health care and legal fees when they commit crimes against our people.

Now they are asking for more of your money to waste. Enough is enough.

Please be careful and study your candidate before you vote. Let’s can these no-common-sense politicians.

    You comment on Rush Limbaugh.

Limbaugh was not afforded anything more that has not been offered to street folks, common folks, middle aged folks, old folks, sports figures, lawyers, entertainers, clergy, truck drivers, poor men, rich men, congressmen, senators etc.

You are way off base with the suggestion that his influence garnered him favor. In fact in Florida it is written law that first timers are afforded a second chance if they are actively seeking help.

Do us all a favor look up what happened in these years:

Never mind…I’ve seen your posts, so here goes:

1776: The British colonies in North America declared thier Independence from Britain, eventually establishing a nation dedicated to certain principals of Freedom that has lasted over 225 years now. But seeing as how it was done by humans and the change was only temporary (as your article states) it probably wans’t worth it.

1836: A bunch of farmers in a province of Mexico declared independence from a tyranical dictator. But again, the effect of human nature that it had was only temporary, so it probably wasn’t worth it.

1945: That nation and that state helped to bring down three of the most despotic, tyrannical, and evil nation states to have existed on this planet. In the years after that war, that nation and that state were able to transform the economies and plltics of all three, and entirely transdform the cultue and religion of one of the oters.

But according to your article, none of that was worth the trouble either.

There are lots of other inspiring and instructive dates in history that blows that article and your sentiment right the frik out of the water and onto the surface of the moon…but most of the other people here know them, so I’m not going into any more detail.

Thank God you and your kind won’t ever gain the kind of following you’d need to run this country the way you want to. Even the stumble bums we have now are greatly desired over anybody who thinks that bringing freedom to oppressed people isn’t worth the time, the trouble, or the sacrifice.

My take on what President Bush should be saying on why we are in Iraq.

The following snippit was taken from Straight Talk, Don’t insult Iraqi Intelligence.

(SNIP) it is time to end the sentimental drivel about how much the Bush administration cares for the freedom and well-being of the Iraqi people. This is an insult to the Iraqis’ intelligence. Arabs, like Kurds, know that foreign policy is not social work. It’s time to acknowledge that American Marines aren’t fighting to liberate Iraqis any more than they fought in World War II to liberate the Germans or Japanese. Our armed forces are fighting because they want to prevent 9/11 from becoming a regular part of American reality. The Egyptian historian, Ahmad Othman, explained it best in a discussion about Arab rulers on al Jazeera:

What happened is that after September 11, the Americans realized that dictatorial regimes in the Arab region produce terrorists who attack America and Europe. The entire world lives in fear of the terrorists these regimes produce. The Americans realize this. They do not want to establish democracy for our sake, but in order to defend themselves. If the Arab people has an opportunity to learn, to participate in the rule of its own land, and in building society, it will not destroy America and Europe.”

“They do this for their own interest,” Othman went on, “but we have a genuine opportunity, an historic opportunity.” Straight talk implies respect for oneself and for one’s audience. The U.S. should tell the Iraqi people, “For reasons of American national security, we need to cut the boil that is Arab governance. We decided to start in Iraq. Those who will join us early will be handsomely rewarded.” Plain talk like this is not only more plausible, it implies respect. In short, Americans should not try to make the Arabs in general, or the Iraqis in particular, love them. They should merely level with them. (Squawk’s Note:  And us)

Nothing unites a nation more than a common language and culture.
National anthem in Spanish is another kick in our butts by the future masters of this country.
Prevention is better than cure, border crisis has been steadily growing for a long time but our elected officials refused to address this issue in the past, it may be little late now.
In another 25 years or so Spanish will be the language of commerce in these United States and I feel sorry for our grand children if they could not speak Spanish they will be reduced t0 picking lettuces in Californian sun.
Let history be our witness that politicians of today have sold our country to the enemy.
It makes me laugh that we are fighting terrorism in remote part of the world while our home is constantly raided by another kind of enemy equally intense and destructive.

Here is Rush’s admission to his addiction to prescription pain medication from October 10, 2003.

“You know I have always tried to be honest with you and open about my life,” the conservative commentator said in a statement on his nationally syndicated radio show.

“I need to tell you today that part of what you have heard and read is correct. I am addicted to prescription pain medication.”

Dear Squawk with all due respect

    http://radio.about.com/library/bllimbaughstatement.htm

“I first started taking prescription painkillers some years ago when my doctor prescribed them to treat post surgical pain following spinal surgery.

“Unfortunately, the surgery was unsuccessful and I continued to have severe pain in my lower back and also in my neck due to herniated discs. I am still experiencing that pain. Rather than opt for additional surgery for these conditions, I chose to treat the pain with prescribed medication. This medication turned out to be highly addictive.

“Over the past several years I have tried to break my dependence on pain pills and, in fact, twice checked myself into medical facilities in an attempt to do so

Also my grandfather who built homes in Chicago’s Suburbs died from backpain its a killer. I know from personal experience it only gets worse if it can’t be operated on its a degenerative disease

Now I know you’re trying to keep me in line and I appreciate that I will get you a reply in person from David Limbaugh give me two weeks

Be prepared to sign a ND

Roys backkkkk. This is what I call the real deal of activism. God Bless Roy Warden!

Mexican Flag Burner Warns Tucson City Council: “I’ll Be Back in Armory Park on Monday!”

    Roy Warden

    4/28/06 Tucson
“I’ll be back in Armory Park on May 1”, warned Mexican Flag Burner Roy Warden today, in spite of a statement issued by Assistant Tucson City Manager Liz Miller. “You can tell the Mexican Nationals, the Mexican Consulate and Open Border Activists: I will be there!”

Warden said he doesn’t care about the permit acquired by those who support illegal Mexican Nationals. “The Supreme Court says to require a permit to enter public property and engage in lawful protest is an act of prior restraint on free political speech and impermissible. These people can take their permit and shove it.”

Warden, arrested three times for lawful political activities within the last two years , has successfully defended himself on the two prior occasions. “I beat Barbara LaWall two times and this time I’ll beat Alan Merritt. He’s a hack.”

    Bsue,

That wasn’t the whole statement also any doctor will tell you that some prescription drugs are by nature totally addictive that’s why he got tired of going to the doctor every week!

Morphine, codeine, many many drugs are addictive, its not a weakness they’re powerful drugs - it doesn’t mean they are abusers like Ted, Bill they are being TREATED for EXCURCIATING PAIN

I know its hard to admit that we could have been wrong but he was facing 15 YEARS in PRISON for buying drugs FROM TWO DOCTORS

That was low scummy and outrageous

Anything to get him off the air

    Anything

do you think he lost all that weight and his hearing because he was hitting 600 golf balls a day

he was on severe pain medication that causes dizzyness, vomiting and loss of appetite

With these facts I’d personally temper my remarks, I hope you and Squawk and others don’t ever, ever have the pain like Rush and My Grandfather its terrible

Eric - I don’t mean to seem like I am being argumentative. Perhaps I should have referenced the quote that I posted as being in reference to your statement in post #83:

Rush has been and still is being medicated he is not addicted, never was, he just thought he could prescribe himself

As to this statement of yours:

That wasn’t the whole statement also any doctor will tell you that some prescription drugs are by nature totally addictive that’s why he got tired of going to the doctor every week!

I know that it was NOT the whole statement. That is one reason for posting the link - so you can see the entire statement and see it in its original context.

You may have seen some “chidings” of commenters to shorten their comments, provide the “money quote” and provide a link to the rest - well, I took those chidings to heart.

I will openly state here that I admire Rush Limbaugh’s battle with addictions. I pray that his battle is successful, and he is able to continue with his brilliant career. I do not believe that repeating his words, admitting that he was addicted was an attack on him, and I am sorry that you believed that it was.

    Say Eric J:

I hold Slick Sharky Bush II to higher standard because he passed himself off as the man who was going to bring dignity back to the White House.

Now, six years later he has failed to uphold his Oath of office and he is letting the country be invaded at a record pace and not only that he endorses the law breaking by everything I’ve heard him say.

He has also adopted Slick Willie I as his “Brother”.

Now I ask you. If Slick Willie I were the president with the exact same illegal alien problem and in a post 9/11 world and I was saying the exact same things that I say about Sharky Bush, would you like what I say or not?

I guarantee you if Slick Willie I were prez many of you who say I am a “Bush Basher” would be in my corner and if he were president right now I would be posting the same comments.

The Repubs used to accuse the Slick Willie I supporters of being intellectually dishonest.

Well in my opinion, the shoe is on the other foot now. Since it is a fact that Sharky Bush II is violating his Oath of Office, according to Article IV section IV of the US Constitution, I guess I should give him a pass because he ran a as Republican? He should have run as a cheap labor globalist on Vicente Fox’s ticket because that is what we have in office now. He represents Mexico’s interests, not the majority of the American people who elected him.
