Yesterday, we pointed out that the Chronicle’s editors don’t know the difference between a gallon:
and a barrel:
Well, the paper corrected the matter today. Sort of.
An editorial on Page B6 Tuesday misstated the ceiling on royalties paid for oil and gas from federal waters. The ceiling is $55 per barrel of crude oil or natural gas equivalent.
The original editorial didn’t say a word about "federal waters." It talked about federal lands. But hey, land, water, gallon, barrel, it’s all the same. It’s not like Houston is a big energy town, anyway.

OK, my new standard reply to anything dealing with the Chronicle’s inaccuracies or biases:

Matt, lol, and that’s probably the type of barrel they think that the oil companies use. Also, we have to wonder if the Comical understands there is a difference between gasoline and natural gas (they are probably checking the # of MMBTU’s produced depending on whether or not the source is pinto beans, black beans, jalapenos, or habenaros….and whether or not various cheeses are needed to change the formulation based on the particular geographic location).
How do we know it’s not a whiskey barrel?
Matt go get some conservative investers, buy the Houston Chronicle and make yourself chief editor!
