Today I had the honor of accompanying Edd Hendee, Gary and Esther Polland and Phil Magness as they went to Austin to file CLOUT’s lawsuit against Lt. Gov. David Dewhurst, Speaker Tom Craddick, One Tough Comptroller Carole Keeton Strayhorn and the Legislative Budget Board.
CLOUT One, gassed up and ready to go. I wanted Edd to buzz Dewhurst’s house so I could throw stuff at it, but he declined.
Edd files the lawsuit, firing the shot that will reverberate around the state. The people at the Travis County Clerk’s office were very nice and helpful. I’m pretty sure Edd has mind control abilities.
Following the filing and subsequent press conference, we retired to Texas Hillel, the brand-new Jewish student center at the University of Texas, where we chowed down on big ol’ Kosher hot dogs. In this picture, Edd attempts to refill his cup by staring at it intently. The weird part is, it worked. 
This t-shirt was for sale in the Hillel center, so I bought one for RedZilla. Now I know how to write "Texas" in Hebrew. So I got that going for me, which is nice.
Attorney and former Harris County Republican Party Chairman Gary Polland balls his fists in righteous anger. Gary has worked for months on the CLOUT lawsuit. Dude’s pretty sharp.
Phil Magness enjoys some nachos while Edd eats a cup. Phil, who I’ve known since high school, worked his butt off. The guy lined up members of the press, compiled stats and charts, assembled press kits without breaking a sweat. Pretty remarkable, considering it was approximately 40,000 degrees in Austin today.
Phil, Gary and Edd give the "V" for Victory. Or maybe they’re just counting to six in order to keep track of how many times David Dewhurst changed his shirt today.
Phil, Gary and your humble correspondent illustrate the proper way to gig a RINO. I just realized my tie matches the plane’s paint job. Not that there’s anything wrong with that.
