    Perry - RINO ??????

    LOL

Could it be that Perry has desillusioned supporters in his organization?

  7. dowjones25k on June 16th, 2006 at 8:13 am

oh shoot!! this is even funnier i just saw the rino in the memo section on the front of the check.

    this is really embarrasing.

  8. TexasBob on June 16th, 2006 at 8:21 am

    Cheap Fun!!

  9. gregg aka T-BONE on June 16th, 2006 at 8:23 am

Maybe Guv Perry should set up a car wash in the Wal-Mart parking lot. They need busty gals in bathing suits holding signs on the street to get the max effect.

Are you people writing any comments as to why you are sending only two cents??? The governor or the Republican party needs to know what it is that bothers you. Is it immigration, property taxes or what?? One of my favorite responses is “This is all that is left after paying my property taxes”.

  11. strongbow on June 16th, 2006 at 8:35 am

    Serious question here:

Is it truly that someone is simply not paying attention, or is there a law somewhere regarding campaign contributions that requires them to accept even the smallest donation if there is no legal or ethical barrier that bars the donation?

This may very well be a case that the Perry campaign has no choice but to accept and report the contributions. Needless to say however, my 2 cents will be on the way shortly :-)

Thanks for the inspiration. My check is in the mail also.

I will throw in a penny with my wife, and we will send a two-cent check today. The paperwork and processin costs are sure to be a buck or two. Seems to be an amusing way to send a sharply honed message.

  14. beccisue on June 16th, 2006 at 8:39 am

Thanks for posting my check. What a fun drive it was to work this morning listening to all of this on KSEV.

What you don’t see is the note that I attached that was hand written on my “Don’t Mess with Texas Women” stationary telling him I was disappointed in his new Business Tax plan letting him know he had let us down and that I that I wouldn’t be able to vote for him again.

You know, he is saying: “You can take this to the bank.” Well he took THAT to the bank.

  15. djklikna on June 16th, 2006 at 9:29 am

Beccisue, Thank you for this. This is a great lead in to the weekend.

I hope they get it (…with a doubt and tongue in right cheek). I will be holding by breath…ok 2 seconds was long enough. I’ll believe it when I see it.

I love it, I wish I had thought to send 2 cents instead of 1 - it says so much more!

  17. Neocon on June 16th, 2006 at 9:56 am

When someone asks you “a penny for your thoughts” and you give him your two cents worth, what happens to the other penny.

    George Carlin, I think.

Here’s a link on George Carlin’s quotes. Go almost to the bottom for the “quote” in my #17.

I never expected to be quoted by name in a newspaper but if it helps so be it. I didn’t send .02 because it would be a waste of my money.

  23. rideuponthewind on June 16th, 2006 at 12:05 pm

ROTFL !!! How much did the check itself cost? 10 cents? hahaha.

Probably rolled each penny on hands and knees to the bank. Hard up, I tell ya. When we owe the IRS a penny or nickle, (no rounding), I attach it to form with scotch tape to the form.

  25. Narly on June 16th, 2006 at 12:10 pm

I’m sending in my check along with a note letting Perry and Dewhurst both know they can’t count on my future vote although I will be happy to give them my two cents worth of support. I’m also going to inform them this is what I realized from the Perry tax break. On the back of the check where it gets endorsed, I’m going to write a statement that says endorsement of this instrument indicates agreement and confirmation that governor Rick Perry is a RINO.

  26. Smacktle on June 16th, 2006 at 2:20 pm

I sent him some of these:

Thanks for posting that again so I can print it off and mail it in with my two cent check!

  29. Jaime on June 16th, 2006 at 5:52 pm

If you receive a letter in the mail asking for a contribution (disguised as a super-duper-special-survey) tear up all the contents, except the reply envelope, put all the pieces in the envelope and mail it.

Do the same with credit card offers.
