well now that we print the ballots in god knows how many languages, we need to put all documents at every government level in the same languages that we allow voters to vote in.

    national house and senate bills
    state house and senate bills
    county documnets
    city documents

that way those voters that do not speak english can read these documents in their own language and know who to vote for right?

things get funnier everyday - who are these stupidoos that come up with this $*it!!

I have been trying to get our Senior Management to make it the policy where I work that all employees must speak English except when dealing with a non-English customer. The main reason is that I work at a financial institution and I think it is a security risk to not know what your employees are saying. So far no one is willing to risk upsetting any employees.

  12. vlou on July 31st, 2006 at 8:15 am

I dislike Nuns due to the fact that I had one for a teacher in Kindergarten in Catholic School and she beat my nuckles with a ruler because I used my left hand and she insisted that the left was the hand of the devil. Therefore, I was forced to become ambidextrous and had to learn to write with my right hand while still preferring my left hand for other things and now I am an emotional wreck. This Nun reminds me of many unpleasantries from my school days (56 years ago).

At least I am not the only one ready to start screeming out - SPEAK ENGLISH OR GO BACK TO MEXICO!

I have boycotted walmart and written them a letter as to why. (spanish announcements, too many non-english speaking employees)

I will not go to Golden Coral for breakfast anymore - too many non-english speakers and thier brats destroying the place - Skeeters is 100% better food, service and attmosphere.

In fact there are a number of places I will no longer shop at or eat at because my lack of english metter is on FED UP.

It is time to VOTE OUT all those in office (local, state and federal) who refuse to fix this problem.

THESE ARE THE SENATORS WHO VOTED TO GIVE ILLEGAL ALIENS SOCIAL SECURITY BENEFITS. REGARDLESS OF POLITICAL PARTY, THESE POLITICIANS NEED TO BE DEFEATED IN 2006, 2008 OR 2010 WHENEVER THEY COME UP FOR OFFICE.

This is an e-mail I receieved today!

One of my sons serves in the military. He is still stateside, here in California. He called me yesterday to let me know how warm and welcoming people were to him, and his troops, everywhere he goes, telling me how people shake their hands, and thank them for being willing to serve, and fight, for not only our own freedoms but so that others may have them also.

But he also told me about an incident in the grocery store he stopped at yesterday, on his way home from the base. He said that ahead of several people in front of him stood a woman dressed in a burkha.

He said when she got to the cashier she loudly remarked about the U.S. flag lapel pin the cashier wore on her smock. The cashier reached up and touched the pin, and said proudly,” Yes, I always wear it and probably always will.”

The woman in the burkha then asked the cashier when she was going to stop bombing her countrymen, explaining that she was Iraqi. A gentleman standing behind my son stepped forward, putting his arm around my son’s shoulders, and nodding towards my son, said in a calm and gentle voice to
the Iraqi woman: “Lady, hundreds of thousands of men and women like this young man have fought and died so that YOU could stand here, in MY country and accuse a check-out cashier of bombing YOUR countrymen. It is my belief that had you been this outspoken in YOUR own country, we wouldn’t need to be there today. But, hey, if you have now learned how to speak out so loudly and clearly, I’ll gladly buy you a ticket and pay your way back to Iraq so you can straighten out the mess in YOUR country that you are obviously here in MY country to avoid.”

    Everyone within hearing distance cheered!

    Gregg,

Here’s the scoop on this email from Snopes:

    http://www.snopes.com/rumors/lapelpin.asp

It is unlikely to be true because Iraqis are secular and most women don’t wear burkas. If you were to encounter one, you should also encounter her husband or a member of her family.

    3) Yeah!! I got the devil with that one!!!

    4) Gosh!! This list of sinners is long!!

    5) Oh, my God!!! The devil has his own website.

    6) This is one hell, I’m mean, one heck of a game.

    7) Are you sure you can order “peace” on this website??

    8) Well, that’s one less sinner!!!

    9) Gosh!! God could have really gotten the word out if He had a computer.

    10) Can I reserve my place in heaven thru the internet???

    I hope everyone enjoys these.

Playing “devil’s advocate” here: So it’s the Church’s fault that Stafford can’t attract businesses and other tax-revenue generating entities?

  28. jimb on July 31st, 2006 at 11:26 am

Don’t get me wrong - there’s a line somewhere with the whole expensive showiness thing that many churches have crossed, but how can you equate what’s going on in Stafford with FOTW’s big, expensive, productions?

  29. Neocon on July 31st, 2006 at 11:28 am

    Here is another one:

“Bingo on the Internet! Who would have thought?”

  30. The most skeptical SOB on the planet on July 31st, 2006 at 11:31 am

    Jimb,
According to the article the churches are opening up in Stafford because they have no property tax. 51? In addition to being income tax exempt that makes it very profitable to open a church in a strip center. Follow the money. I don’t doubt there is praying and soul saving going on. I just don’t like the business of saving souls the way its being done. I didn’t think you had to pay the concierge to get into heaven.

  31. Matt "Zilla" Bramanti, CPO™ on July 31st, 2006 at 11:32 am

    Yeah, that’s such nonsense.

“It’s thrown everything out of balance, plus providing zero revenue. Somebody’s got to pay for police, fire and schools,” City Councilman Cecil Willis said.

Schools? What can that possibly mean?

I don’t see how more churches = more schoolchildren. And the City of Stafford isn’t responsible for schools anyway.

But Nilda Martinez, who owns a flower shop between two churches, has had enough. “The churches, they’re everywhere here,” she said. “There are too many; the city should control it. It hurts the city when you don’t have enough businesses paying taxes.”

There are too many churches…what an awful thing to believe. But if she really believes that, she should show it, by turning down the wedding and funeral business those churches provide.

  32. Matt \"Zilla\" Bramanti, CPO™ on July 31st, 2006 at 11:33 am

SOB-Bone: Churches are exempt from property tax all over the place, not just in Stafford. But only the church is.

Here\’s an example. Let\’s say you\’ve got the Church of T-Bone, which owns a strip center. You occupy half the center as your church, and you rent out the other half to a dry cleaner. Only the church part is tax exempt. You still have to pay property taxes on the non-church portion.

    Here\’s the law.

  33. jimb on July 31st, 2006 at 11:37 am

Gregg - You know what? If Stafford doesn’t have a property tax and that attracts churches, that’s not greed in the church’s part, its probably just a bunch of small churches trying to stretch their dollars.

Churches that open up in strip centers tend to have small memberships and not all that much revenue from donations. This isn’t about “follow the money” as much as you think it is.

While we are mired down in civil war in Iraq, far more serious dangers conmtinue to grow.

“To maintain Pakistan’s support in its war on terror, the Bush administration has looked the other way while this dangerous nuclear development took place. That its man in Islamabad, Pervez Musharraf, was an assassin’s bullet away from handing Pakistan’s future to the very radicals the US is trying to eradicate does not seem to have mattered much in Washington.”

  35. The most skeptical SOB on the planet on July 31st, 2006 at 12:12 pm

While I have no proof, I bet many of these “churches” are nothing but fronts to launder money from some other enterprise the owner is engaged in.There is no leg business to having that many churces in that small of an area. They found a way to game the system by moving into Stafford. Back in the days of mobs there was a pizza parlour or Italian restaurant on every corner in the north east. The real business occurred in the back rooms.

I couldn’t agree more. I think that each and every former slave should be compensated directly by those who owned them. As for the rest of us Americans, we should consider taking a road to prosperity that does not continually rely on government handouts, and adopt a cultural identity other than “entitled helpless victim”.

Sorry, but I have a superior claim for reparations. I’m a Christian, and our Christian ancestors were Jews. Africans (Egyptians) enslaved Jews for 150 years approximately 1400 BC to 1250 BC. That means I have 150 years of reparations coming with 3,256 years of interest (compounded of annually course).

If we take a standard slave wage of $1 a year with interest at 1 percent per year, people of African decent owe each Christian and Jew $117,596,131,790,631. Allowing for a similar deduction for the 256 years from 1609 to 1865, this reduces the amount of our individual claims to $9,115,908,852,662.84.

Please make your check payable to……..

Ooops, sorry. I made an error. I forgot to add a $1 per year for each year of the period of enslavement. The sum due each of us is $752,294,373,577,953.

  88. jimb on July 31st, 2006 at 5:20 pm

No defense of Gibson here. I will say, however, that I watched “The Passion” and nothing in that film lead me to believe that it was advancing any theories that Jews were “to blame” for Jesus’ crucifixion…

  89. Big45Iron on July 31st, 2006 at 5:21 pm

Willie, sorry, there are no native Americans. They are immigrants from Russia. So called native Americans took away the land from the naturally occuring flora and fauna without any consideration for the well being of the buffalo, mastadons, and sabre toothed tigers. The “native Americans” massacred the mastadons and sabre toothed tigers and destroyed their environment with their full auto spears. Therefore, you are fined all of your reparations.

I also believe that there was no anti-semitism in “The Passion”. However, if his reported statements turn out to be true (and they probably are given his apology) then he sure did fool a lot of his supporters (who have fallen strangely silent today).
    Go figure.

I can hear it now, “Bring me wodka, Sitting Bullinskov”.
I guess we took the land from them because they were commies in addition to godless heathens.
We did used to refer to them as “REDskins”. Your theory throws the use of that word in a different light.
They were probably “illegals” as well.

  93. Big45Iron on July 31st, 2006 at 5:37 pm

I have nothing to indicate that they were commies or illegals, since there was no controlling legal authority (liberal phraseology). However, we do know that they were eco terrorists!

  105. Hamous Johnson on July 31st, 2006 at 6:28 pm

I also did not see anti-semitism in “The Passion”. If…if the reports of Gibson’s arrest are correct, I don’t see how he or anyone else can hide behind the “I was drunk I didn’t mean it defense”. It may have loosened his tongue but the feelings were already there. Alcohol didn’t create those, it just knocked down the wall holding them back.

  106. shannon on July 31st, 2006 at 6:37 pm

There were gallons of ink spent on telling the story of how Gibson spent a lot of time running the script and the early cuts of the film past Jewish scholars. Ultimately the film got a pass from 98% of them. Was he raised by a Nazi sympathizer? Yes. When blind drunk, does some of that come out when confronted? Probably.

May the one who wants to be held accountable for his/her comments when drunk please step forward.

Have you ever made racist comments when you were drunk?

Have you ever said anything you regret when you were drunk?

Are you prepared to have everything you say when you are drunk to be held up as the “real you”?

    Willie,
I can’t speak for anyone else, but my stance on the original claims that Gibson was anti-Semitic was that based on “The Passion”, I did not see any evidence that he was anti-semitic. So I don’t feel any need to defend his actions while drunk, though I think I will hold off on condemning him just yet.

I must admit I’m a little disappointed in Mel. There’s no excuse for the remarks if accurate. However, I’m not ready to throw him under the bus just yet. He has been a positive influence in Hollywood.
Every once in a while someone you admire disappoints you and you just have to deal with it. Hell, I’ve disappointed myself, from time to time.

Face it. On the tip of everyone’s tongue is a racial epitaph. You should see whats on my tongue. The booze just lowered his threshold of holding it in. Get over it. These things just sail right by me. Some people get all bent and that’s their problem. I have never been a Mel Gibson fan. Thought his movies sucked.
Although I liked the outfits in Mad Max. So he hates Jews. Big friggin deal. Bet his doctor, lawyer, manager and accountant are disappointed. Probably all Jews. Ha ha!

Its time we jump in and help Israel kill all those F’n sand farmers. We make that area the 51st state, make Mexico 52 and we are done. Whats wrong with a little land acquisition? Hell, that’s how we got America. We didn’t come here to teach the Injuns how to get drunk! Those Arabs have to be good for something. They make good signs, scream chants and seem to keep the robes nice and white. Print shops, cheerleading camps and dry cleaners.

No, I’m not condoning what Gibson did. It was pretty pathetic. I was and still am pretty impressed with the courage it took to make a film like “Passion”. This latest drunken episode, however, is shameful.

Alcohol is no excuse. I have said things I regret under the influence and yet I am still 100% the owner of those statements. Gibson owns his tirade whether he regrets making it or not. But that is a seperate issue from my support of “Passion”, which I do still support, BTW.

Notably Mel Gibson has refused to say whether he agrees with his father’s views. “My dad taught me my faith, and I believe what he taught me,” Mel Gibson told Reader’s Digest in 2003. “The man never lied to me in his life.”

As Matt Damon said in Rounders, “I can go on bustin’ you up all night.”

The evidence is overwhelming, not just circumstantial.

“They claimed that there were 6.2 million in Poland before the war, and they claimed after the war there were 200,000 — therefore he must have killed 6 million of them,” he said. “They simply got up and left! They were all over the Bronx and Brooklyn and Sydney, Australia, and Los Angeles.”

He said concentration camps were merely “work camps.” Holocaust museums, he said, are “just a gimmick to collect money.”

For Jews, he said, “it’s all about control. They’re after one world religion and one world government. That’s why they’ve attacked the Catholic Church so strongly, to ultimately take control over it by their doctrine.” He added that “to a Jew a Christian commits idolatry every time he looks at a crucifix and says a prayer. You know they’re in control and they’re going to get in control the way things are going. Because they get all of our people.”

According to Mel, his father never lied to him in his life. His father taught him his faith. That’s not all his father taught him.

LGF and EU Referendum are having a lively discussion about whether the Qana deaths were set up by Hisballah, using corpses that were already dead. Very interesting stuff. I knew the bodies looked weird and it seemed that the same child was shown over and over. The “rescuers” as well as the bodies have no cement dust on them. Very interesting! The building is bombed at 1:00 a.m. and the rescuers show up at 8:00 a.m. just in time for the media. There is really something screwy going on here, IMO.

A follow up to my earlier post. According to Channel 2 an off duty cop working security stopped an attempted armed robbery. The perp was caught a few blocks down the road. If an HPD cop fired twice, according to the news, and missed, this has to be a record. For HPD. They never miss.

  139. Hamous Johnson on July 31st, 2006 at 10:52 pm

Shakey, I’m withholding my final opinion until there are solid facts. So far we don’t know all the facts. But, as I said before, I basically agree with you (can’t believe I just said that) when you say “A drunk man’s words are a sober man’s thoughts.” I don’t buy the “I was drunk” defense when Teddy “Whaddya mean you can’t swim” Kennedy tries to use it and I won’t accept it if Gibson does. Alcohol doesn’t create those thoughts it just amplifies them. He can be forgiven, but it will take a lot of repentance on his part. We’ll see if he’s up to the challenge…if all this is true.

Still, there was nothing anti-semitic in “The Passion”.

But Bone-spanker, how can you not like “The Road Warrior”? Its a freakin’ classic!
