I cast my vote for the Katy/Richmond area.
Go west, young bloggers, go west!

  2. Kevin Whited on August 1st, 2006 at 5:25 pm

Big Top, then transfer next door for Ringwalds. :)

  3. shannon on August 1st, 2006 at 5:26 pm

    Holy Cowbell, Robin! A Brewhaha!!

  4. Neocon on August 1st, 2006 at 5:30 pm

How about Coaches? Hwy. 290 at Jones Road. Great food, shuffleboard (yeah, Jimb/Dude/Smacktle!) and pool tables. A lot like the setup at Sports n More, but with great food! Come in and turn to your left. I talked to them about reservations and they have no problem with that!

  5. shannon on August 1st, 2006 at 5:37 pm

    West or Northwest.

  6. The most skeptical SOB on the planet on August 1st, 2006 at 5:38 pm

That dump on Barker Cypress and 290 would be sufficient.

  7. Neocon on August 1st, 2006 at 5:42 pm

    TMSSOBOTP™

But they don’t have food. We had to order pizzas last time. Coaches has the same set up but with food and cute waitresses! (not that I’m into cute waitresses!)

  8. headshaker on August 1st, 2006 at 5:44 pm

Forget the place on Barker - that sucked.

I just drove 4300 fn miles so I don’t care where I have to go. I just hope more people show up than the last time. I’ll bring more bears if that will entice anyone to come.

It’s worth it just to see Smackie screaming to get out of the high chair!

  9. Smacktle on August 1st, 2006 at 5:58 pm

    North, NORTH!

  10. Neocon on August 1st, 2006 at 6:04 pm

    Smack

We know you would go anywhere in order to play your cow bell! Why not Coaches? - easy to get to, right on the freeway, good food, shuffleboard and pool! The perfect place!

  11. Smacktle on August 1st, 2006 at 6:07 pm

I’ll go anywhere and probably will bring my wife.
    See ya there!

Remember, the owner is an LST commenter. Easy on your negative comments! Sports ‘N More accomodated us, for which I am thankful!

    ;)

  13. shannon on August 1st, 2006 at 6:08 pm

    North had it last time!!

    /so I’m whining. deal with it. :>)

  14. Neocon on August 1st, 2006 at 6:10 pm

    Shannon

I agree! It seems most of the folks here are around 290 and there are a couple out by The Woodlands. We should set it at someplace where we will get the most folks! I know Marc and Stormy (who aren’t close to anything) will come!

  15. shannon on August 1st, 2006 at 6:10 pm

Sports N’ More wasn’t a dump. I had a good time. I just wish I had ordered some pizza myself—-about two hours earlier!

  16. shannon on August 1st, 2006 at 6:12 pm

Maybe Dude can bring his Barbra Streisand bobble-head doll collection this time.

  17. emmekelley on August 1st, 2006 at 6:19 pm

Ok here is my 2cents west or NW is good for me. I would love to come check out the group.

  18. jimb on August 1st, 2006 at 6:20 pm

I say Sports ‘N More or Coach’s. Baker Street Pub over off 249 would not be too bad, either…

  19. Neocon on August 1st, 2006 at 6:21 pm

    Shannon

Coaches has all that Sports N More had and more (i.e., food)! Don’t have to order pizza!

  20. Neocon on August 1st, 2006 at 6:23 pm

    emmekelley

We would look forward to having you! We put the FUN in disFUNctional family!

  21. emmekelley on August 1st, 2006 at 6:24 pm

Oh good it will be great to go to the family reunion LOL.

  22. TXAggie87 on August 1st, 2006 at 6:25 pm

I couldn’t make Wolfie’s and missed out on being only a few blocks from the house. But 290/Jones is fine. Us Klein teachers will have been back in school for 3 days - no kids, just fun, fun, fun in boring, nebulous inservice meetins . . . can you tell I just can’t wait!?!?!? I’ll probably need a number of adult beverages to overcome my joy from all those meetings.

  23. Neocon on August 1st, 2006 at 6:27 pm

You will fit right in! LOL! ;)

  24. The most skeptical SOB on the planet on August 1st, 2006 at 6:59 pm

Buffalo Wild Wings is on 290 and Spring Cypress. Kinda busy but they have 4000 HD tvs and great wings and a bar.Cute waitresses for Neocon to check out. Maybe call them and reserve a few tables at the bar.

  25. emmekelley on August 1st, 2006 at 7:24 pm

Now TMSSOBOTP when did they start putting tables up at the bar? LOL. Now I always thought that is why they call them bar stools. LOL.

  26. The most skeptical SOB on the planet on August 1st, 2006 at 7:48 pm

Kellywacker, you must be thinking of this.

Hey, Shakeys pickin up the tab. All the water you can drink.

  28. DanielJames on August 1st, 2006 at 8:03 pm

    Austin?

Put it near i-10 west or 290 w and I will try to make it. Then perhaps we can start our own fight club? I know there are a few here that want a piece.

  29. The Dude on August 1st, 2006 at 8:30 pm

Maybe Dude can bring his Barbra Streisand bobble-head doll collection this time.

I’ve told you a million times, Shannon… they’re not dolls, they’re action figures.

Why dont we have it in the hood. SW Houston. Faster can bring his Hoopty and we can all take bets on how fast it gets stolen. Yo.

  31. fasternu426 on August 1st, 2006 at 9:54 pm

Man they won’t steal it, They’ll just take the wheels like last time,

    Have it here:

    OK maybe not……

  32. headshaker on August 1st, 2006 at 10:06 pm

Sorry, I call it like I see it. The place is great if you don’t have a large group like ours and you don’t want food. It’s just not the right place for these types of events.

  33. Smacktle on August 1st, 2006 at 10:13 pm

Sports n More was TERRIBLE! No food, was promised the coldest beer in town and got semi cold bottles. No beer on tap. Had to order pizza from next door. If you guys have it at that place again, I will counter and have a alternative brewhaha somewhere else.

If fasternu and Willie aren’t coming, then I aint coming!

Headshaker will buy all the ginger ale you can drink.

  34. fasternu426 on August 1st, 2006 at 10:22 pm

It’s hard for me to get out. I’ve been working my butt off. Don’t even leave the shop until about 7 or so. When I get home my arms feel like jell-o can’t even hold a beer, need one of these:
    http://www.cs.hmc.edu/~geoff/adventures/karlsruhe/oktoberfest/P2004.09.25-15.00.00-0001.jpg
If it’s kinda close, maybe even in Tomball maybe I can come for a bit. I’ve got a lot of deadlines for the next coupla weeks. The war dep’t keeps telling our customers “sure we can get those 1500 4 color process on both sides shirts to you by tomorrow”… I swear she’s trying to kill me. If you see my carcass in a bombed out building being pulled out by mr. “green helmet” you’ll know who did me in. And it is a fake! Here’s what I look like:

I’m the one on the right (the pretty one)

  35. Matt "Zilla" Bramanti, CPO™ on August 1st, 2006 at 10:43 pm

Looks like Coaches is in the lead so far.

    Any other suggestions?

  36. KRAUT on August 1st, 2006 at 11:10 pm

Sam’s roadhouse opposite from Willowbrook mall
where the former Sam’s boat used to be.
    SE corner of 249 @ 1960,
or Bakers street Pub, same neighborhood.

  37. jimb on August 1st, 2006 at 11:18 pm

I’ve had a couple friends puke at Coaches…

  39. beccisue on August 2nd, 2006 at 6:15 am

Main Event in the Woodlands/Spring. Pool tables, food, video games, laser tag, bowling, happy hour 4-7…

  40. The Dude on August 2nd, 2006 at 7:11 am

    #39 beccisue,

That’s a good idea. I’ve been there a couple of times for work stuff and I thought it was pretty cool. Besides, we could have an LST bowl-off. I’ll second Main Event.

  41. KRAUT on August 2nd, 2006 at 8:05 am

Molly’s Pub on the southbound side on 45 and Rayford Sawdust is good too, great draft beer.

  42. tedtam on August 2nd, 2006 at 8:49 am

I suppose I’m the lone representative from the southeast side of town. (sigh)

  43. navymom on August 2nd, 2006 at 8:49 am

    Coaches gets my vote

  44. beccisue on August 2nd, 2006 at 9:14 am

    #40 Dude
We use it for work too. You work for big oil by chance?

  45. fasternu426 on August 2nd, 2006 at 9:28 am

Mainevent and I can make that!!

  46. The Dude on August 2nd, 2006 at 10:19 am

    beccisue,

I work for a well-service company. We’re not big oil, but big oil pays our bills.

  47. Rorschach on August 2nd, 2006 at 10:28 am

I third Dude and Beccisue’s suggestion, and that gives something for those of us with rug rats to shoo the kids off to do too.

  50. Matt "Zilla" Bramanti, CPO™ on August 2nd, 2006 at 11:19 am

Okay, this is it, either Coaches or Main Event.

I’ll record your votes starting now. Winner will be announced at 1:00 p.m.

    Go!

  51. beccisue on August 2nd, 2006 at 11:33 am

    main event

  52. duhmoose on August 2nd, 2006 at 11:38 am

I vote for Coaches, Main Event is no place for people over the age of 16. Tried going there several times and couldn’t hear myself think over the rowdy kid noises. (I think it is a great place to take your kids by the way, and a good place for teens to hang out, I am just not a teen anymore.)

  53. Kimberlyann21 on August 2nd, 2006 at 11:39 am

    Matt,
We could go to Main Event, if we were so inclined too : )
    My vote.

    Coaches

  55. djklikna on August 2nd, 2006 at 11:43 am

I’ll be out in California reminding myself why I decided to stay in The Great State of Texas. By the way, That is my Birthday. I will be having my own form of a BrewHaHa with my brothers that night. So, I guess my vote doesn’t count.

My husband and are fast approaching geezer status and we love it. We leave the grandkids home when we go.

  57. jimb on August 2nd, 2006 at 12:38 pm

    Coaches…

  58. jimb on August 2nd, 2006 at 12:39 pm

If I type Coaches like 45 times does that count? Vote early, Vote often…

    :)

  59. navymom on August 2nd, 2006 at 12:42 pm

    coaches

  60. The Dude on August 2nd, 2006 at 12:48 pm

I still vote Main Event. If I could, I’d find a bunch of dead people to vote like me to counteract Jim’s 45 Coaches votes.

  61. Definitely Blonde on August 2nd, 2006 at 1:14 pm

coaches - and its next to my favorite mexican resturant -

    Coaches is good!
As to your restaurant,,Somebody got to support the Illegals.

  63. shannon on August 2nd, 2006 at 1:49 pm

A late vote for coaches. Along with Neo’s 75 votes for Coaches.

  64. headshaker on August 2nd, 2006 at 2:02 pm

The nice thing about the BHH’s is that we visit with each other and get to know one another. If there are too many activities available, people will not interact so much, and that’s the point of the BHH.

If you want to play games then you’re better off doing that another time.

  65. beccisue on August 2nd, 2006 at 5:07 pm

Well darn, missed it by “that” much. Please keep Main Event or that area in mind for a future event. I am about ready to come out of the lurking closet.
