Althor and Richard over at Hyscience are starting to wonder about the timing of all this:
In a recent post on Hyscience by Richard, he couldn’t help but wonder how come barely a few hours after the Qana attack by Israeli forces, which we have been told in the media left fifty four civilians dead - most of them women and children, a giant 30 foot high banner with the professionally rendered painting of the image of Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice, with the suggestively conspicuous addition of a smaller one of Israeli Prime Minister Ehud Olmert to her right in the background, decked with inflammatory slogans in Arabic about the Qana incident, was unfurled in Beirut just in time for the violent demonstration that took place just a few hours later in the day in Beirut and Gaza.
Richard points out at the obvious professional quality of the banner, and along with John of “Power Line” and others, wondered:
“I have no idea what kind of facility it takes to produce a 30-foot-high banner like this one. It is obviously professionally done. It would be interesting to know where this banner was produced; who designed and paid for it; and how its production was expedited so that it was ready for use, on the street, within hours after the event being protested. For example, was the image of Rice produced in advance, awaiting a pretext for its use, with only the script added at the last minute? I’ve often been curious about the logistics of pro-terrorist demonstrations, and this seems like an especially curious example.”
One does wonder doesn’t one….
UPDATE: Clayton Cramer has some more peices of the puzzle that just don’t fit.

Having had banners made and stuff… I do garment printing but am familiar with some of the digital stuff. It would be quite a stretch to get one made and ready to hang in a day, much less in a couple of hours. The images could be Photochopped or used Illustrator and made pretty quickly. It does take a very large format printer to knock out something like that.
Crafty little Koranimals, aren’t they? The “who paid for it” part of the question particularly interests me.
I use an HP500 plotter for making banners around here for company functions and I can tell you that its a long tedious process and can take days to produce such photo quality work.
Yep, I’m staring at an HP 120nr myself, but it maxes out at 24″ wide…. the biggest commercially available I’ve seen is 60″.
This banner is 20-30 FEET wide and was printed on plasticized canvas. This is the sort of machine that billboard companies use.
Check out M. Malkin video. I think this goes with the photo, IMO that they printed days in advance and then sent word to set up the stage for Quana. http://hotair.com/archives/vent/2006/08/01/what-happened-in-qana/
Couldn’t resist commenting on this one.
hezbolla has been waiting for the opportunity to hang this piece of propaganda.
These people are becoming masters of the craft.
I’m betting they (hezbolla) planted the bodies (morgue temperature). Probably killed them to.

It doesn’t make me wonder at all!
The Propaganda war is being won by these warmongers without question. The Appeasment crowd is gullible enough to swallow this crap. The best way to combat this stuff is to state the obvious, (well, to most anyway)that War is hell and innocent (questionable) die during war, but the most important fact to NOT lose sight of….Hezbollah started this! Everyone that visits this site would have done everything within our power to get our families out safe if Houston was being bombarded. So even if the dead were actually caused by Isreal,(VERY DEBATABLE) they had opprtunity to leave the area.
I bet it would reflect an ordinance guidance laser pretty good. Is it still up???
“Koranimals”
HA good 1…
Maybe these people have successfully built a time machine and that’s how they get this stuff ready.
The Syrians and Iranians have a lot of money so they are able to hire a good PR firm (a la James Carvel). It doesn’t hurt to have a liberal media in the US who looks for any chance to slam President Bush and Isreal. They all have managed to relabel Isreal as a bunch of terrorists and Hezbollah as a bunch on innocent people. Which is so far from the truth but it’s not the truth that matters, it is the preception.
I read Rush’s website and it answer something for me. I always wondered why, with more Jews here than Arabs, Isreal was getting so much bad press and the powers that be didn’t stop it. Well, he said, it was more important for Jews to be liberal than Jewish.
Sorry to rain on the (conspiracy) parade, but didn’t Israel apologize for the Qana strike already?

#11) But I thought the Jews controlled the media?
It’s all so confusing…
Willie,
How does Israel’s apology negate the possibility that Hezbollah is capitalizing on the PR aspect of Israel’s actions in Lebanon (and that they’ve pre-planned the publicity)?
Willie, I don’t think anyone is disputing that Israel bombed the building, and that civilians died in the bombing.
The question is whether Hezbollah allowed further preventable deaths to happen in order to milk the situation for propoganda value, for example by delaying emergency response until journalists’ cameras were on the scene.
The jews controls the media but Its an antisemit theory because they cannot controlls all.
But a thing is sure. The principal weapon of the terrorists is the manipulation by medias.
This foto of condolezza rice is an example and that is why the hezbollah use their civilians like shield in order to blame israel and the americans ( Even if they are not involved Its a pretext ).
That is why I disagree with Israel with their excessives air strikes because It will be using like a propaganda for the terrorists they have to stop the air strikes.
#14) The Dude:
Of course Hezbollah is going to capitalize on the PR, just as Israel or any other nation, would do. With the 24/7 news cycle, that is the way war is waged these days.
The logistics bother me. Are you saying that Hezbollah “pre-planned” the bombing with the IAF or just the PR part?
#15)CPO:
While I don’t doubt that is a possibility, I would have to see some definitive proof of that, not just swallow this conspiracy theory whole. The simplest answer is usually the accurate one.
#17 Willie,
Just the PR part. I’m not real big on conspiracy theories, but I must admit that the timing of this (as Matt states in # 15) is a bit strange.
Of course anyone would capitalize on the PR part, but I find it disturbing how willing the media is to help Hezbollah out in that regard. Just my observation (which is admittedly biased).
#19) You’re a good man, Dude.
I really have no idea on the timing, I freely admit that.
Maybe Israel needs to invest in a “Jewish” al-Jazeera to counter the Arab media?
Like I’ve previously stated, I support Israel and their attack on Hezbollah. I believe the Qana bombing was a tragic mistake by the IAF that doesn’t need the conspiracy theories proposed here and elsewhere to absolve them of “guilt” (for lack of a better term). Apologize (which PM Olmert did), criticize Hezbollah for hiding among the civilian population (which they’ve done) and move on (which they seem to be doing). There’s no need for any conspiracy theories. War is hell.
Willie, it would seem to be possible that they could find a house, fill it full of bodies from the morgue, park a rocket launcher in front of it and salvo a few off to draw the IDF’s fire and then spring this thing upon the media.
not only could it be done, but it would not have even been all that hard.

I agree with you. I think the whole thing was faked. Pictures show supposedly fresh bodies with extreme rigor mortis. The same child is shown in several pictures. Also, the “green helmet” person has been featured in other “disasters.” I totally believe this was set up by Hersbollah. The rockets hit the “house” at 1:00 a.m., yet it doesn’t collapse until 8:00 a.m. (just in time for the press to show up.). This is so blatent that anyone with a brain can see through this. Plus, the banner which “just happened to be available.”
BS.
I love this comic. Kinda like Israel’s treatment of the years upon years upon years of little agrivating BS bombings by HezBULLallah. Finally had enough and take measured appropriate action. What’s the Unified Nutjobs response? Go see http://www.chron.com/apps/comics/showComic.mpl?date=2006/8/1&name=Prickly_City
#32, as usual, the Chronicle is full of blatant ripoffs. note this issue of Day by Day by Chris Muir. and notice when it was published…. 7/31/06

Poor man’s banner maker, bad name for it though.
