Phoenix police recently arrested two men suspected in a string of “serial shooter” attacks. Six people died in those crimes. Harold Hurtt did not lead that case, because he is no longer chief of the Phoenix Police Department.
Houston police (yes, we still have a few) are still looking for the Acres Homes serial killer, who experts say will kill again. Harold Hurtt is leading that case, because he is currently chief of the Houston Police Department.

The Acres Homes killer is black. Cant show police coming down hard to find a black killer. Now if this guy were white it would be an all out manhunt with Quanell EX in the lead Hummer.
Once again, an incomplete description of the man:
Why be PC for this murderer’s sake? ISHMLYKW™
Unfortunately this guy has been killing in the Acres Homes area for more than 10 years. When I was a young police officer patroling 6B20’s beat (beat containing most of Acres Homes), the citizens would tell me there was a serial killer in the area.
I’m sure there are many unsolved murders in that area that are probably linked to this guy. In fact, I remember a murder from several years back where a woman was found murdered and stuffed in a suitcase in the yard of an abandoned house on Wilburforce St. (I think).
Serial killers are such a rare breed, especially non-white ones, that they can kill for many years before becoming front-page news.
I think the only reason this guy is in the papers now is because his “trip” from rape and murder isn’t lasting as long so he needs to reoffend more often.
My money is on a parolee whose offender pattern matches his times in and out of prison for other offenses….. Just my guess….

Good insight. This investigation doesn’t seem to be getting anywhere fast. I know this sounds selfish, but I hope he sticks to his own territory where he may be identified by people in the neighborhood.
Since I haven’t seen the crime scene photos my opinion is mainly based on personal experience and not real criminal profiling.
He’ll most likely stay in the general area where he’s been offending because it is where he feels the most comfortable.
Short of a random DNA match from a database, this guy will have to screw up and let a victim live that can tie him to a vehicle or location before he gets caught. If that doesn’t happen he may continue offending until he gets picked up on an unrelated case or charge that can’t be linked to the serial crimes. If that’s the case, hopefully the charge is serious enough to keep him in prison for the rest of his life….
