Funniest part of it is this:

Republican Party officials use the erroneous term ‘Democrat Party’ because it irritates their opponents.

Given this editorial, I would say the tactic was a resounding success! :D

  2. jimb on August 24th, 2006 at 11:36 am

Yeah. That makes sense. Take one or 2 people’s opinions and run with them as representative of an entire political party. At least they could come up with a conspiracy more interesting.

From the first line of the Chron editorial:

“Republican Party officials use the erroneous term ‘Democrat Party’ because it irritates their opponents.”

I’d say it worked. You also have to love the typical Democrat behavior here. Spend years calling Bush a Nazi and moron, then blame Republicans for the incivility of politics.

Whoops, looks like I wasn’t the only one noticing that.

The Democrats shouldn’t complain or the Republicans can start using one of my “Top Ten” names when referring to the Democrat Party as:

    1) The Tax and Spend Party

    2) The Cut And Run Party

    3) The Depravity Party

    4) The Malcontents Party

    5) The Out Of Power Party

    6) The Hillary Clinton Party

    7) The Ultra Left Wing Liberal Party

    8) The Whiner Party

    9) The Loser Party

    10) The Liberal Media Party

I know there are way too many names that the Democrats can be called. I’ve only named a few, so feel free to add to my list.

Sorry Comical, but it just doesn’t sound right calling them Democratics.

  7. tedtam on August 24th, 2006 at 12:39 pm

The proper term for Republican, and his party, is “Republican”. The proper for a Democrat, and his party, is “Democrat”. When “Democrat” is changed to “Democratic,” it becomes an adjective, implying a quality to the Democrat party, not the name. It just so happens that the “R” word ends with a suffix “an”. If the Democrats wanted to have the same sounding name, they should have chosen a different name that already sounds like an adjective. I, for one, have several choice names that they may select from, if they wish my assistance.

    Sincerely,
    The Grammar Queen

The Chronicle is an embarassment, along with the Democrat party.

  9. Big45Iron on August 24th, 2006 at 1:15 pm

Democrapic Party is much more descriptive anyway.

Nice to know the Comical is 8 months behind publishing this from MSNBC:

“Democrat Party” although there is no such thing

So please edumacate me better than the pubic shools doed

What is wrong with refering to the Democrat party.

We refer to the Republican party all the time as well as the Democrat party” That is thier names unless the pubic shools told me wrong!

Maybe they prefer socialist democrat party

  11. jimb on August 24th, 2006 at 1:21 pm

Actually, “Democrat Party” or even “Democratic Party” are both misnomers. It should be “socialist party” or “liberal party” and if they move much further left, it will be “communist party”…

That the heck is pubic shools? heh, heh! ;)

socialist democrat party sounds ideal, but you are dealing with folks who don’t even want to be called “liberals” even though they are! I proudly wear the term “conservative”, but they all shy away from “liberals” and prefer “progressive”!

  13. Big45Iron on August 24th, 2006 at 1:32 pm

Democrats are just socialists who won’t admit it, and communists who can’t get away with it yet. If they had the power, they would put their boot on your neck and a bayonet in your back to shut you conservatives up. Given the opportunity, they would be every bit as ruthless and Stalin, Mao, or Pol Pot. In short, there is nothing democratic about them.

  14. Big45Iron on August 24th, 2006 at 1:33 pm

Progressive was and is a word widely used by Marx and the communists. Progressive Insurance is part of that, with Peter Lewis being a contributor to their causes just like George Soros.

  15. JohnRH on August 24th, 2006 at 1:43 pm

I’ve always thought this whole “Democrat Party” thing just makes Republicans look childish and snarky. I mean come on, that’s the best we can do, mess with their name?

Yeah, I forgot about Lewis and Progressive Insurance.

Sadly, there was a time when the Democratic Party was democrats, now they are socialists/communists — but don’t CALL them that!

  17. Quicksilver on August 24th, 2006 at 2:22 pm

My Random House Webster’s dictionary defines democrat as, “an advocate of democracy”. President Bush is trying to spread democracy around the middle east, so I guess he is a democrat.

    Reply to #17, Quicksilver:

Did you see a picture of Hillary beside the definition of a “democrat”?

  19. Quicksilver on August 24th, 2006 at 3:11 pm

#18-No. Her picture is beside the definition of a communist.
