What a shame for someone with so much going for her, to be taken out by a bunch of cowardly camel jockey’s. I did notice the uniform was from West Point.
SOB - her life was not “thrown away” She died serving her country - whether or not you think this war is being pursued properly doesn’t give you the moral ground to say her life was “thrown away”.
SOB, obviously she didn’t think so, nor do the people serving there. Before you say it’s a waste, go talk to the people serving there. I have a nephew on the way there now. I have another nephew who’s stepson just volunteered for his fourth tour there. My nephew who is going now raised hell for years to get a chance to go.
Back in May, Hamous and Neocon and I talked to several guys who have lost legs and arms and eyes and suffered other grievous wounds there. NOT A SINGLE ONE OF THEM stated that it was a waste of time and effort. That may be your opinion, but I’ll take the word of the people doing the fighting, the bleeding and the dying. Too bad you can’t do the same. By the way, it’s a war on terror, not a war on bin Ladin.
2005: Graduated from West Point in the top 10 percent of her class. Was assigned to the 204th Support Battalion, 2nd Brigade, 4th Infantry Division. Deployed to Iraq in December as a Medical Service Corps officer.
Ok,…I’ll bite, who is she? An Aggie? In Iraq?
BTW; First although it only matters on the today thread, gotta stay up until mid-night to mke that one. ;=)
Pioneer at West Point, lieutenant is first in ‘Class of 9/11′ to die in Iraq
Officer was the highest-ranking black and Hispanic woman cadet…
Always sad to hear of another soldiers death, woman or man, black or white or …
Clik on pic for her story.
#4 Well Duhhh!!! Note to Dave, Learn how to use the DAMN computer! I’m soo ashamed!

Another life thrown away in Iraq. God bless her soul.
Thank you Emily for your service and your devotion to this country. May God bless you and your family.
Prayers and condolences to Lt. Perez’ family.
In a somewhat related vein:
“Iraqi President Jalal Talabani said that the US military presence in Iraq keeps neighbors from invading his country.”
Wouldn’t it be nice if WE had a true military presence on OUR border to keep OUR neighbors from invading OUR country?
#9 - same thoughts here. Great post!

You’re starting to sound like Feagan…

Squawk, I’ll risk your censure on this one. The two are inseparable.
The insignia on the uniform are for Chief Master Sargent, not 2nd Lt. What gives?

Not my rule. We have handled these posts in a similar way many times before.
It’s a West Point Cadet’s uniform, not an active duty service uniform.
