You may recall a while back when Matt Bramanti and myself participated in a round table discussion of Al Gore’s An Inconvienient Truth. Well, last week, after a blog posting about the early arrival of flu season, Leigh Hopper interviewed me via telephone regarding the early arrival of the flu in our neck of the woods. Not even an hour after hanging up the phone with her, Eric Berger sends me an e-mail saying that there is a guy from BBC radio that would like to interview me. Well I met with him last night and had a chat with him. This morning when Channel 2 read Leigh Hopper’s article, they called to try to get an interview with me on camera.
Who’s Next? Larry King? Oprah? Heh, knowing my luck it will be Jerry Springer….. =D

Let’s hope this is not your only “fifteen minutes of fame”.
…what about Dr. Phil? You might help him!
At least make sure you don’t use all 15 minutes up at once …. I’d keep at least 8 minutes in reserve.
If Markos Moulitsas ZĂșniga calls you just drop the phone and run like hell.
Heh, Robert, you don’t know just how ignomus this might turn out to be… I have a tendency to pass out when I’m given shots (I REALLY don’t like needles…), and they want to try to interview me while being vaccinated for the flu. Knowing my luck I’ll keel over mid-interview……
Dude, if Markos calls, I’ve got an air horn reserved for him…..
Rorschach, think how many times that tape would be played on the news channels and how about the comedy skits that might evolve from your fainting at the sight of a needle. Then to have it actually put in—wow!!! Can’t wait for the DVD!!
How about Joe Bob Briggs? - Hasn’t he called yet?
Well, it turned out to be a bit of a bust. the website I looked at claimed that the pharmacy I met the cameraman at would be giving flu shots today, but it would appear that was not the case. I was interviewed anyway, but let’s just say the video was not quite as exciting as it could have been…..=D
I’d suggest that you take all the air time you can get…. but be careful it might come back to haunt you!
…and you can be one of very few “pages” to save your IMs….
Oh.. BOB Stein, Thought you said Ben Stein

#12, no I meant Bob Stein, the Poli Sci professor from Rice who’s wife works for mayor Bill, and who’s name is mentioned in the Chronicle at least as often if not more so than Perry’s. Bob is the Chronicle’s GO TO GUY when they need a quote about something.
Fortunately, you no doubt would not look anywhere near as much of a doofus as Stein always does.
