I hope Ms. Bender makes a point by complaining about her child learning about Kwanzaa (a made up holiday) and dreidels just to see what the response is.

I say to heck with ‘em, offend them ALL!

    HAHAHAHAHAHAAHAHAHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA

  3. raiderdav on October 2nd, 2006 at 4:43 pm

It is kinda funny that they cut out Mrs. Claus due to the link with Christianity. Pretty soon all holidays will be a six degrees of seperation game.

  4. David Johnson on October 2nd, 2006 at 4:57 pm

That’s what I don’t get. Santa Claus and Mrs. Claus have nothing to do with Jesus Christ (you know, the actual reason for Christmas).

Aren’t these the same people who are always screaming about tolerance?? Oh, I forgot, it’s just those icky Christians being offended!!!

The religion that tolerated everyone else is no longer tolerated, according to the Politically Castrated (PC) crowd’s conventional thinking!!

Well, these PC bigots offend ME!! I will make a point of saying Merry Christmas, at EVERY opportunity this year.

  6. Young Curmudgeon on October 2nd, 2006 at 5:27 pm

If we don’t butch up in this country and take it back, I fear that Ramadan festivities will become more common.

  7. davewolfgang on October 2nd, 2006 at 5:28 pm

Well….I think it’s time we start suing the athiests, because they offend ME!!

  8. davewolfgang on October 2nd, 2006 at 5:30 pm

#5 - They teach/require “tolerance” for everyone ELSE but themselves…

  9. One Voice on October 2nd, 2006 at 6:11 pm

A wise teacher once told me, “You can’t please everyone. If you try, you’ll end up pleasing no one, including yourself.”

Apply this to our current PC (politically correct) culture, and you get: “If you try not to offend anyone, you end up offending everyone.”

Merry Ramahanaquanzmas? This is just getting out of control! I do business with all types of different religions. I don’t ever recall any one of them get offended, whichever religion that would be. Bottom line, we respect each others religions. I am offended over this, however.

Still want to know why this site is not discussing representative Foley.

  13. Wolf Bite on October 2nd, 2006 at 7:57 pm

It is amazing to me that no one understands the difference between establishment and exercise of religion….

If we allow this to happen we have violated our duties as Citizens.

What’s next Islamic law in Texas?

    Can’t wait for the Amerounion.

Would you rather talk about Barney Frank? He’s still in congress after his boyfriend ran a prostitution ring our of his apartment.

    Wrong thread anyway…..

We’re waiting for the Ted Kennedy vehicular homicide discussion to wind down over at the Kos.

    Troll elswhere.

Your intolerance will not be tolerated! The future is going to suck. I picture some androgenous, bland corporate holidays 100 years from now. No holidays with the baby Jesus!

  17. PBFloyd on October 2nd, 2006 at 9:23 pm

#12: yellowdog; It actually HAS been discussed at length on several threads on this site over the last few days.

I know, I’ve posted to them myself. But since you seem to be insinuating that there is a double standard in here and for the Dims, while I would disagree that this is the appropriate thread for it, I must say I agree with you about the glaring double standard we have!!!

For instance, can you explain any other reason why a public servant who could be involved in a scandal like Foley’s would at least have to
resign, but when it is a Dim involved in equally despicable criminal/deplorable behavior, they are apologized for in the media, and given special treatment(Kennedy(s), Clinton, Berger, et al), are celebrated on Oprah(McGreevey, AlBore) and get book deals(???

I think the old saying goes,’none so blind as those who will not see’, applies to you; see if you are actually able to factually examine the point I’m making here, and be honest with yourself.

How is it that Preseident Bush is slandered daily, with complete lack of respect and with obvious malice?? As a sitting President of the United States, they defame and assasinate his character calling him liar and everything in between except maybe a poopy-pants??? This when a PROVEN liar and felonious criminal like Bill Clinton is fawned on as he, against all decency and previous protocol, runs around the world like he’s a hero when he is in fact a disgrace and a felonious criminal, aiding and abetting our enemies with his reckless if not intentionally treasonous rhetoric?

And while we’re at it, how about they can’t run off Tom Delay fast enough,(on unfounded allegations) but when William Jefferson gets caught by the FBI taking bribes, ON TAPE!! he still has yet to resign, or for that matter, be expelled from the same Congress????

Yes, yellowdog, THAT double standard?? Do you really want to examine this factually now?? Or do you wish to continue your with your obviously deluded viewpoints??

Very well stated! I doubt the dims will respond as they have no responsed whatsoever. They will continue to glorify Clinton and his actions. That’s the Dims for you. They condemn Republican problems and glorify their own who commit much worse problems. The Dims are heading for defeat. They have no plan. They only want to belittle the Republican Party. That is why Americans as a whole will not vote Dim in the next election. Americans are NOT stupid.

these are the same morons who will be talking about the ‘holy’ month of ramadan until Nov 1…

it makes me want to puke every time I hear some bed wetting lib say “the ‘holy city’ of (insert some rat’s nest town name here)”

  20. DrtyBadger on October 3rd, 2006 at 12:05 am

“decided instead to take a more generic approach to holidays”

This makes me really mad that a one person’s (poor, selfish, weak, pc) judgement affects so many kids and parents especially when it is going against the majority of their beliefs.

  21. vlou on October 3rd, 2006 at 12:25 am

Self-serving, self-centered people who are narrow minded will be offended by anything.

One bomb on the Kabal ends it all.

  23. texaskaz on October 3rd, 2006 at 6:07 am

When the kids were little I would bring Hanukah to school. The non-jewish kids were way into my presentation. I stillrecall, one time a litle girl stood up in the middle of my question period, and asked about the candy canes representing Jesus blood. AH! That is not my deal, I don’t know about it, and now look at candy canes in a different manner!
I stopped going a long time ago though. I decided I did not want Hanukah to become like Christmas. A made up holdiay totally forgetting the actual reason, a holiday that is starting to have made up facts.
My neighbors who are the most Christian people I have ever been blessed to know, do not put up the tree and lights and stuff…they told me that was all pagan rituals.
When my kids were forced to make Christmas tree ornaments in art, we just donated them to an old age home.
Whatever…I will never understand the whole holidays in school in anyway. I prefer to celebrate my holidays at home with my family.

It looks like yellowdogdem has shown his true color (yellow) and decided to crawl back into his hole where he belongs.

    #24,

Yeah, he’s even a failure at being a troll…but that it right in line with his failed ideology.

  26. asquires on October 3rd, 2006 at 12:27 pm

I just don’t get it. How can somebody be offended by hearing a reference to something they don’t believe in.?
