   Kind of reminds me of Bush’s reserve papers and Hillary’s accounting records.

   Strange that is is also dated and takes quotes from a Conroe Courier Article that appeared on or about the same Date back in June. The “political” report has no details other than the “political overtone” of refuting what was in the newspaper article. No letterhead on which it was from any reputable source and exactly who wrote it? Is this another example of Richochet’s political meddlings?

   Seems that it would be hard to understand that if this building is worth so much, that it’s on the HCAD tax rolls for only $8.8 million… Holy tax fires “Batman” why are we subsidizing their taxes if it’s really worth that much more, seems like they should be paying another $2-3 million in property taxes if what is said here is true!

   The way I read it, it appears to be trying to refute the board’s desire to buy the HP property, not justify it. It challenges the assertions that it would be cheap and quick to renovate and move in. And Charlotte Lampe, by giving it to you, is trying to get the word out that whoever’s plan it is to buy the HP property, it’s a bad deal.

   #4 JohnRH, logically that makes no sense. Think about it for a moment, if she was having trouble with her fax machine, why does the hand written cover sheet have two time stamps on it? That means that ONE sheet WAS SUCCESSFULLY faxed to a DIFFERENT machine thirty minutes earlier since it is the recieving machine and not the sending machine that actually prints the stamp even though it is generated by the first. The original would not have a timestamp and she would still have the originals in her hand, why would she substitute a cover sheet that had been faxed elsewhere? How COULD she since it was, by definition, elsewhere? if the coversheet were mangled, all she’d have to do is write out another, not get in her car and drive to where ever the fax was going (which should have been MY fax and I assure you she didn’t come here to get it.) And the rest of the document only has one timestamp which indicates it was the original that was scanned in the final fax machine.

   You’ll note that it includes moving costs for telephone and data center functions which would be there regardless of what facility new or used they chose to inhabit. That is a straw man in my opinion and is being used to inflate the cost. I’m not saying it is not a valid cost but it would be a cost that would be accrued no matter what facility that they ended up deciding on.

   #2, exactly my point if it is only on the books for 8.8 mil. how can anyone justify asking so much more. or if it really IS worth that much, why is it that the tax rolls are so low? one or the other would appear to be out of whack here.

   Bottom line, if the report data is strong enough to prove that the plan is not viable, it should have been able to stand on it’s own as refutation of the plan and it should have been released happily by the board because it would then be supporting the boards position. By hiding it, and claiming that the report didn’t exist, the board has undermined the validity of the report. It makes it look like the board is ashamed or fearful that someone would pick the report apart and find something that should not be there. At this point, the report in my eyes cannot be taken on faith as being valid until it is completely revisited from scratch, it’s origins and assumptions are suspect and that has made it essentially a dead letter in my view.

   I think we have another credibility problem here. The “report” or more like a political response, apparently is not the report done in 2005 as described by Mr. Bates and Ms. Lampe at the Copperfield Republican Meeting, it in deed matches word for word (itallics) the article that appeared on the same date of June 14, 2006 in a Conroe Courier article.

   Looks like we have another “dilemma” here of “ENRON” board members at their finest, or else someone here needs to resign and withdraw. If they can’t tell the difference between 2005 and a political response paper, then we will have some serious creditably problems here with these people, and no wonder, we already have a $MILLION DOLLAR taxpayer election “fumble.”

   So lets get to the meat of the subject of credibility here:

   We have what is being described as a “worse botch” job than the “Dan Rather” Bush Reserve papers story back in 2004 and a time line gap of a year. We don’t see a detailed report on what would cost what here, but more like a Political rebuttal to an article that appeared in a news paper in June of 2006.

   I can just see Ann Richards saying: “Poor Charlotte” She can’t tell the difference between FOCUS and reality; between 2005 and 2006; she fell for the $85 MILLION for the two buildings before she knew that it was a POLITICAL “Position Paper.” ….”Poor Charlotte”…she needs to F.O.C.U.S.!

   I don’t think that a “Walk-Through” was intended as a detailed study back in June, but more of an example of how better taxpayer money could be spent. It would appear by the “Hack Job” here that the current board never commissioned a real evaluation, study or anything at all, or at least someone will be soon sitting in jail for not producing it. What is appears is that it is obvious that an outside consulting firm would need to be hired, that is not connected to any of the board members, the current contractors and the political parties involved, to give an overview of what the true feasability would be. Are we taxpayers getting the shaft or a deal.

   Apparently the political want-to-be candidate here (Lampe) just shot her credibility with me by demonstration how gullible she truly is…. if she has a degree in basket weaving or something like that, then it’s possibly understandable… but not managing a $200 MILLION DOLLAR institution or making the decisions on one. As for Mr. Bates, I guess he falls into the same pit as there is no way the 2005 report that he quoted so precisely from has an ounce of credibility in it when it turns up as a political “hack” paper written 3-4 months ago, unless that is false also.

   Now we really need to investigate if a contractor of the district did this or it was done inside and Ms. Lampe should reveal the source. It would seem that there is political activity taking place once again within the great walls of the “Palace” on Research Avenue! Indeed who wrote this, at whose direction and why was it written, Do we have a contractor that wishes to take credit for it since it has no letterhead and lacks the credibility that Mr. Bates so eloquently put to the 2005 report at the Copperfield meeting?

   More questions are bringing the walls in a little closer and we really need answers and an investigation by the DA perhaps as to the violations of Sect. 556 of the election code as to what is going on here.

   Credibility, Trust and responsibility does seem to be lacking in the now infamous Lampe/Bates report saga and maybe it’s time for a real change and not just duplicating the same old issues… NOW we need answers. We need a resignation/withdrawal and we will need to vote, as we can’t have another “Berry Education” slipup repeated!

    One possible explanation for the 1st page with the two fax headers could be this typical multifunctional scanner/printer/fax:

    1. The sender scanned all the documents into a PC
    2. The PC fax software displayed an input box for the sender to type in a cover sheet message
    3. The PC fax software transformed the coversheet into cursive writing using Microsoft Cursit tm Technology
    4. The PC fax software printed out the coversheet
    5. The PC fax software caused a blue screen of death, because the OS is Windows XP and fax software always does that
    6. The sender took that printout, and the originals, and faxed them with a normal fax machine.

    On a more serious note, #8 do you know if they will print that to PDF and e-mail it? Seems it would be cheaper and easier.

    I don’t think that there was ever any direct statement to buy the TI/Compaq/HP facility but the possibilities to see if taxpayer’s money could be better utilized and it does appear to be a superior location as with something like 200,000 cars a day passing.

    I just read the June article and someone had suggest that the facility could be used for the admin. since they were so crowded in the Woodlands… makes sense….

    It is a no-brainer as far as greater marketing opportunity to aid the declining physical on-campus enrollment in the District.

    If there is a savings in using an old building or an existing facility, that has my vote as it will also have less of my money and also require a lot less from the old folks like me, as my income is not what it used to be!

    #18 - I can tell you from personal experience that the building is located in a flood-prone area. I think the only reason that they can build anything over there at all is the extensive network of flood retention ponds/soccer fields that are being built. Coles Crossing looks like a disaster waiting to happen to me. They’re also deepening and widening the flood retention area just adjacent to the parking lot of that facility already, as well as building something over on the other side of the property to handle runoff from the new park and ride they’re building near Skinner. Cy-Woods is pretty close to Cypress Creek, too. Does anybody but me think that somebody leaned on the flood control people to declare that area somewhat less of a flood hazard when they redrew the maps so they could build a lot more over in what would, in my mind, be a classic flood plain for Cypress Creek?

    Black helicopters MUST be next!
    Lets see mysterious faxes….. One was an attempt from a home fax that didn’t work and the next attempt was from her office fax. Thats a real issue folks!!! Yep it was late in the day, SORRY our bad ! Mr Rorschach was told on FRiday that it would be Monday at the earliest that the report would be faxed. Yet Mr Rorschach launched into his initail attack at 9:50 on Monday morning!
    Just could not wait could we ?
    Mr Rorschach was asked by Ms Lampe on the mysterious cover sheets to CALL if there were ANY question..yet I guess the common courtesy of a phone call was beyond the pale.

    Mysterious reports from secret contractors, inside info…….. why not send a simple request for info to the college asking for the study that Mr Bates refered to ? Instead of asking for a Gilbane whatever, which was never mentioned by Ms Lampe, one would just ask for ANY feasability study on the TI plant. If one would do this , even today, they would get the same report that was sent to the blogger late last night.
    I challenge ANYONE READING THIS to send in a generic request on ANY feasability study on the use of the TI plant and see what you get!
    If you send in a request asking for a Gilbane or Brisbane or Wolfbane whatever you will get NOTHING ..NADA for you bi-lingual types , just what Mr Fred CORRECTLT got. No conspiracy here just an incorrect request for information !

    #18 According to the current FEMA MAPS I have carved the location of the Metro Park & Ride Lot and the 24500 NW Freeway Location. According to the legend of the map I read the white is out of the flood plain and the shades of gray indicate the level of the flood plain. Without an exact survey to compare the FEMA map and the building location and the parking lot, one would make an educated assumption that the building and perhaps indeed the parking lot in part is out of the flood plain and not as you are stating. ALso if they are building larger retention ponds up stream, that is a good sign as that will slow and control the down stream water….. you are controdicting your arguement…

    The elevation of the building slab and the parking lot do appear to be quite a distance different, so I would assume that Harris County Building Requirements in the 1980s did require the slab to be 18″ above the flood plain….I can’t imagine a building of that size being built in the flood zone. (but possible)

    #20 Bruce; Since I talked to several people in attendance at the Copperfield meeting on 9-11-2006, they seem to all be saying the same story that fits the facts that I have stated previously above in my several entries. Ms. Lampe and Mr. Bates both mentioned a 2005 report by Gilbane Construction and Mr. Bates went on a long praising story about Gilbane and their construction accomplishments and acheivements and Cathedrals, Churches, Schools, Medical etc. and went on further to say that this study had been conducted last year in 2005.

    Mr. Bruce; it is equally as difficult to think that I am so naieve to believe that the two different FAX IDs were from trying two different FAX machines. If one does not go throuogh and a FAX is never sent, then how does the origional get a header on it…. or is that your “Black Ops” excuse….

    Your suggestion that I have said anything about criminal activity is totally FALSE, I just don’t see it anywhere other that the political campaign that I see coming from the campus in violation of section 556.

    In yesterday’s atricle I read a clearly worded request for the report that I am told that Ms. Lampe and Mr. Bates talked about and I was also told that Mr. Laughter was in attendance at the meeting, so he obviously knows what was said, unless he too has a comprehension and hearing problem. The letter from Mr. Laughter says there is no such report. Had it been worded for 2005 I would assume that now reading this, of what looks like a political hack job, since it has the same wording as the June Courier article.

    How do you explain that? Gren OPS?

    Then there is missing who authored the report, study and it bears no information that was emphatically claimed by the Bates/Lampe Duo!

    And it took from Friday to Monday at 11:00pm to Fax a few pages that was previously described as being in her brief case…… WOW I bet I could find a FAX machine a lot faster… and I think that if I am going to have someone in charge of making decisions on a board, they should certainly be able to FAX 4 pages…..or scan and email them…

    To say it is more of a political information or disinformation paper is probably more correct and another example of the politicts coming from the administration.

    Have you ever put pages in a damn fax machine and have it scan a few then beep and flash some faxologic message only a geek can understand?
    I have and at work. The machine at home seemed to be unable to send more than a part of a page, for all she knew it sent none or maybe all of them. The damn thing just made a bunch of beeping noise and flashed error codes!

    Hey, whether or not the parking lot of that facility is “officially” in the flood zone or not, I know for a fact that the parking lot has flooded twice in the past. Floodwaters often don’t care what a FEMA map says. Now, will the improvement to the flood retention area adjacent to the lot improve things? I don’t know, but I DO know that the lay of the land is changing, a LOT more concret is there than there used to be, so there’s going to be a LOT more runoff. That area WILL flood again, it’s just a game of wait-and-see to determine if 24500 HWY 290 will be affected again.

If you try to fax something and the fax fails to go through there is no time stamp printed on the original. and the faxed file does not just go whereever you decide to send it after the fact. it goes ONLY to the phone number dialed which obviously was MINE, and it would have only the one time stamp.

    There is NO OTHER POSSIBLE EXPLANATION for the existance of two time stamps. NONE. The fact that you are obviously too technically incompetent to understand that is not my problem. And yes, I AM a GEEK. I CAN understand the error messages AND I understand how the machine works.

    And by the way Bruce, had you read the previous post, there WAS a TXPIA response from Laughter addressed to Fred that denied the existance of any such report. Lampe also promised to send the report over the weekend, which means she had 2-1/2 days to do so. why did she wait until after 10PM on a monday night to send a coversheet to another fax machine and then send the entire report from a second machine?

    I hope to have the fax number it was faxed from today, then we will see just who else is involved.

If you can come up with a logical explanation on how the cover sheet has two stamps I’m all ears. But I haven’t heard a logical explanation yet, including your last attempt at one. I do not want to see a Democrat anywhere within a mile of that campus. In fact as far as I’m concerned, Democrats can just turn in thier ID on thier way across the border. Schmoozing bigwig Democrats to support you means you are a democrat. If she darkens the door of the Harris County GOP meeting again I will publically out her. COUNT ON IT! I’d like to see her leave the room ahead of the pack that will be looking to skin her alive, it would be fun to watch. Like she said to me, calling any election non-partisan is a load of horsesh!t, there is no such thing. If you are going to participate in a bloodsport, you had better come well armed, and the way it is looking, she came to a gunfight with a rusty pocket knife.

    And if it was Ray’s report as you contend, then why did he sign a legal government document denying it’s existance? He committed a crime when he did so. Do you really think he will admit that it is his report now that a document with his signature on it denying it’s existance is in the public record.

    Ms. Lampe and Ray Laughter are both welcome to chime in and give their side of the story. I’m all ears.

    One more thing, I KNOW it is Ray’s report! The problem has been getting him to admit to it instead of lying about it’s existance. I contend that Ms. Lampe is Ray Laughter’s crony who was recruited to run in this race after the fact in order to try to dilute the anti-incumbent vote. She never DID have a chance in hades of winning, her function was to keep Bates from loosing, she is nothing more than a pawn in this game. I intend on taking Laughter down as soon as I am able and if she has hitched her wagon to him she had better be prepared to go down with him. As far as Laughter is concerned Lampe is expendable, He’s going to let her twist in the wind.

    Lampe has a long history of being a RINO. After all, did she not help push through the Cy-Fair bond election that led to the Berry Edification Center? Republicans don’t vote for bonds or higher taxes, but RINOs do. Republicans vote against bigger government. RINOs talk the talk, but when it comes time to walk the walk, they act like democrats. Blanton was not the one who made it a partisan race, she did when she complained that he met with a democrat organization. That organization by the way was IN THE DISTRICT. Not in River Oaks and organized by the Mayor’s fund raiser Sue Waldron.
    I cannot speak for the people who endorsed her, I suspect she blew sunshine up thier arse and they agreed to endorse her without a lot of information to base their decision on. If they did so, they made a mistake that they will regret. I know she was strongly twisting my arm to agree to endorse her from the moment I met her. In fact she swooped down on me within moments of me walking into the place and pigeonholed me for several minutes. She was very agressive and asked every person she met to endorse her almost from the moment of saying hello, not support her on election day but specifically say they endorsed her. Being able to get people to endorse you does not make you a good candidate, it makes you a good campaigner, the two are not the same.

    #39 randy06tx; interesting take on the Kingwood meeting. Was it their own Democrat Randy Bates that did not show at the same meeting that “snubbed” his own party?

    Seems that I read that Mr. Bates attended the Kingwood Democrat meeting, this time in September and announced that it was the first time he had ever spoke to a group while running for a college board position. Seems that Lampe and Carreno along with the rest of the incumbents also were no shows. (one other did show)

    If I were advising Blanton, I’d say he is shrewd to get as many votes as possible as for each Democrat vote he gets, that kills those people from supporting and getting ten more votes each for the incumbents, of which in my opinion have a lot of unanswered questions…..

    I did some searching and it seems like, according to Blanton, after the Incumbents’s hidden elections plans went up in smoke he and his running mates got support from various other Democrat, Ethnic, liberal and other political philosophy groups that he claims he never herd of.

    On one report he claims that one Democrat organization turn him down to speak, because of his 30+ years of Republican voting record, yet on May 8th or 9th endorsed the Blanton group. I guess you will have to consider this one like the marriage amendment. It was so important to clean out the dogs that everyone from all walks of life came in and worked together for the “right” cause.

    It is interesting, to hear, the description of Lampe and her rush for endorsements. Do any of the people endorsing her on a whim know what she is for or against? Do they know her history?

    Perhaps we should look at who is not endorsing her!

    Kudos for that guy BLANTON if he can convert one democrat to his side and his policies are for rebuilding the trust, integrity and keeping things moving in a forward direction, then that is 10 votes that we Republicans don’t have to worry about….

    One last comment in the May election did Lampe support the Republican or the Democrat? … I have herd that you know she worked against the Republican….

    #34 it’s nice to know that you support the administration and your candidate must also. I assume you will be supporting the bonds, just like you did in 2001 for Cy-Fair that your FOCUS group got us the wonderful Berry Education Center and all of it’s glory.

    Is this post supposed to be about what NHCCMD has been doing wrong, or is this a political feud between Fred Blanton and Charlotte Lampe? Personally I’m more interested in the issues than I am the people.

    If there is a valid question, such as “Why is Charlotte Lampe running for a trustee position?” I am interested in that, where as if the question is “Why is Charlotte Lampe, a RINO who is getting campaign contributions from River Oaks and can’t operate a fax, running for a trustee position that Fred Blanton has been doing such a great job at” I tend get turned off very quickly.

    1st question is valid, 2nd one isn’t. Is it just me? Just the facts, please.

    BTW for sake of disclosure I know Drudgeschach ™, Bruce, and Charlotte and I’ve even gotten an e-mail from Fred but I wouldn’t say I know him.

    #45 First off I’m not a “plant”. I’ve been posting here a lot longer that I’ve known Fred, but I do admit to having had discussions with Fred on this and other issues. I made that clear in my previous post. And I’ve been kicking around what eventually became the blogosphere for decades before the blogosphere came into existance. Don knows me from back then. And I don’t grow leaves either.

    Second just what exactly do I have to gain here? last time I checked the pay around here is pretty sub-standard (as in zilch), so the gain could not possibly be monetary. I don’t work for Gilbane, TI, Compaq/HP or any one else that stands to gain. In fact I work for an oilfield services company so unless the board needs to have an oil well serviced, I’m having a hard time seeing where I benefit.

    Don is right up to a point, this has degenerated beyond the scope of what I intended the post to be. What I’m trying to show is the linkage between Lampe and Laughter and other members of the board and make it clear she has been tossed into the race as a strawman to dilute the voting blocks and make sure Bates keeps his job. I contend (and I’m still trying to gather the evidence to prove) that the fax I recieved was actually from Laughter and not from Lampe and that she is nothing more than Laughter’s meat puppet either knowingly or unknowingly.

    One more thing. I don’t know if you noticed, but conservatives are the majority party. It is demonrats that crawl out of holes. You know, like when you use a throw away e-mail account and a proxy server in Australia to mask your true IP address. I must give you credit, the level of technical competence is rising here.

    If Blanton and his running mates will not accept any insurance, credit cards, travel expenses or any pay from the district, then how are they going to get rich?

    If you do a search on what “The Blanton’s” have given to educational institutions, medical facilities in this City and State, you might want to rethink your position.

    If you are buying into the smear article written about some land deal, you might want to check the records on this as there is no such deal, no ownership by the Candidate Blanton and much to do about nothing, besides if he were on the board he couldn’t do anything about anything under state law that is even related to him. So if you are buying into that smear…..they you’ll believe anything.

    Seems to me if we had more givers on the board and people with connections to help ease the burden on the taxpayers we would not have to go out for such rediculous bond issues and could devote more money to education.

    At “The Charge” meeting Monday night at the North Harris Campus there was a photo taken from a plane flying about(+-) over Hardy and W.W. Thorne. It clearly showed the runway 8L-26R and the North Harris campus in Direct Flight Path of something like a mile away. Also presented was the location of the NEW east West runway for commercial flights/cargo that will also be hitting on the South side of the Campus.

    Sound reasonable people with common sense would not want to have a high density populated Campus this close to the most critical “flight section” of a trip and that seems to be within 2 miles of the end of a runway, coming or going. It is like putting a hospital at the foot of the Dam instead of the top!

    I did a search on HCAD and don’t find but 1 single property owned by the Candidate Blanton in Harris County. What am I missing? If you consider the “pocket change” of the aledged or proported land near the North Harris Campus, then it would not even equal 1/1000th of what I can find in contributions to the institution I have mentioned above that his “Family” has been involved in giving or raising.

    I shall do a little research on the connections and relationships of the other board members and candidates…. stay tuned, “I’ll be back” Maybe who is getting “rich” needs a little “Sluthing” as your comments are a little like hatred and way overboard…..plus factualy false!

    You still have a clear conflict of interest here. Blanton is your friend, whom you are trying help gouge the college district by attacking them. Its a typical conservative smear tactic. When you don’t get your way attack their integrity by casting doubt on the motives and credibility of your opponent. The funny thing is that the members of the district that you are trying to link up in your crazy “theory” are not your opponents. They’re simply some individuals who happen to work for the district that you’re smearing to put forward this “FaxGate” theory. Please, I am just amazed that you’re allowed to post on the main page here. How do I get in that club? Maybe if I buy a bunch of ad space, I can get those privs too. That you’ve got my email and IP info indicates you’re either on the payrole here or in the in crowd, which causes you to drop in the trustability of objectivity scale even further, pending your personal relationship with Blanton. Is he going to cut you in, if this blackmail attempt works?

If you think an ad is buying anything here, the LST endorsed Blanton and running mates right after the aborted and illegal MAY election conduction by apparently the same people you are defending. So why? And what do you have an ounce of proof over any of your remarks? Lay it out; lets see your cards so we can FOCUS on what is truly at stake here in this BOND issue.

    What positives are you offering and exactly what are you getting out of this deal….?

    Just an observation…

    People tend to have short memories, so I’m sure after whoever wins the NHCCMD trustee position everyone will forget about the finger-pointing and mean-spiritness.

    But there will be another election in a couple of years, but Google never forgets. I think an unknown candidate would have a good chance in that election.
