all this is great that someone is setting up a R or rhino or log cabin GOPer, but still underlines the fact that there are too many people in position as leaders of the most powerful country on earth that put their desires first or can be bought.
i will still get out and freely volunteer my time for gop candidates this year, but the GOP needs to stop putting itself(or selves) first and the country second.
i’m sure i am in the majority on this thought and if i win the lottery anytime soon i’d run for office.

This reminds me of Marion Berry on the surveillance tape after the cops bust in on him smoking crack - “B*tch set me up!!”

Right, Foley resigns over a prank. Maybe somebody should tell him so he can bet his job back. DELETED

    Nice trolling and flaming

#3 - Foley needed to go, no matter what. All the other stuff is rumors, hints, and innnuendo - it will take a while to build the whole picture of what was going on. People’s careers will be prematurely ended over this, of that you can be sure. It will be interesting to see who gets snared in the web before it is all said and one. I still would not be surprised if both Reps AND Dems get snared…

Whether it was a prank or not, it doesn’t change Foley’s culpability for his actions in taking the bait, or the leaderships culpability if they covered his actions up.

And as a long-time lurker, I take exception to that IQ crack! lol.

Having the page get an attorney tells you a lot. Obviously the so-called facts in this case are in question or the severity of them are. In either case, Foley should go.

But if Foley really wants his job back, then he needs to declare himself a Democrat. From what I’ve read, they openly accept his kind.

#2 If I recall correctly Berry got reelected.

Lurkers should disregard the gratuitous insults in #3. Their author recently claimed on another thread that Barney Frank was a “victim” of the make prostitution service running out of his apartment.

This particular poster - who has been lingering here in some form or another since the days of chronicallybiased - exhibits a mentality that typifies the faux-intellectual NPR crowd & is always prone to insult the intelligence or “IQ” of conservatives for simply demanding intellectual honesty from the left. Keep in mind though that these are the same type of people who claim they couldn’t figure out the difference between Pat Buchanan and Al Gore on the 2000 ballot - the same type that hold Sheila Jackson Lee up as a master of speechmaking & who still insist the Rathergate forgeries were the real deal.

I bet he also thinks Clinton was a victim of that women, and Studds was a victim of that 17 year male page.

JohnRH #2, my brother and I were in DC doing research at the Marine Corps Museum and Quantico regarding Vietnam when that went down with Marion Barry in January, 1990. We were in our hotel room when we turned on the news and that hit. We were laughing uncontrollably listening to him say that over and over and over.

The GOP can’t buy the kind of advertising liberals hand them for free on a silver platter. Phil, regarding Queen Sheila - she never gave back her Enron campaign contributions, nor did she apologize for taking them.

Well I’m an NPR listener too, so I’m just getting it from all sides today! hahaha. ;)

    Big45 - hahaha it’s a classic. I wonder if it’s on YouTube…

It would be funny if Foley was sending emails and IAM to Rev. Fred Phelps.

    A masculine kind of love…..

    Foley is a jerk.

    Vote Democrat

This is a joke right? I haven’t been able to find out anything about this on any credible news page.

You do have something to contribute, right? Or is your sole purpose to slam other commenters on this site? Can we expect to see something positive, thought provoking and indepth from you in the near future? Uh, never mind.

The page and his family obviously think that the page has done something to warrant the hiring of a top attorney. Although the evidence isn’t out yet, I think that this page was sought out by who Hastert claims are “democratic operatives” for Foley’s ruination. Let’s face it-the timing in my opinion is very suspicious.

This is a link to what the democrats have aligned themselves with (i.e. Nancy Polosi) and dare to join in all of the hoopla???

This page, according to ABCNEWS was in fact, 18 years old, of the majority age. The democrats are sounding the gong right now, but I suspect that they will be the ones that will be shown for what THEIR true colors are. With the witch hunt of Tom DeLay, they won’t be happy until others are gone in a similar fashion.

I wonder how this whole thing would look if Delay were still in office. They’ve been looking for ways to take back the house and they haven’t been successful running on their platform or records, so they use October surprises and this one might work.

I’m disgusted with the entire group. And Rep. Foley did not resign because these accusations were false. I heard a report that he’d told the GOP he didn’t want to run again but they were afraid of losing the seat so they made him reconsider. Who knows.

The safety of children was less important to both sides of the aisle than political gain. Disgusting. And even if the child at 17, was a “political operative” (which I saw on CNN last night that the accuser works for some GOP governor campaign so the whole idea of him being an Operative sounds dumb) he’s still the victim.

Foley should have resigned. And while seeing Nancy Pelosi with the gavel in her hand sends chills down my spine, maybe it’s needed to get the Reps back in gear and standing for what Conservatives are supposed to stand for (smaller government, lower taxes, lower spending…).
