I used to love Cafe Express. I no longer eat there. About 2 years ago the food quality started to tank. I no longer go there

Isn’t that about when Wendy’s acquired the chain?

Insanity. Get the white coats out.

Anytime some bigger corporation buys a business, things start going downhill. The big corporation in an effort to improve the profits always sacrifice quality. The “mom and pop” attitude towards its customers is gone. Look at the Kemah Boardwalk.

How are the ILLEGALS allowed to file a lawsuit? They should be deported immediately. This has been the problem with corporate America (greed, power & profit) in hiring “cheap” labor. The corporation should be penalized immediately if there is such a law in place. Shame on Wendy’s and the greedy lawyers to do this at the expense of people’s lives (even ILLEGALS).

I totally agree with #5 Robert:
I used to live in a small ski town in California; a man “owned” and ran the mountain. A few years ago, those who he appointed to carry on after him (he was over 75, though still skiing every day, and running marathons during the summer) sold out part ownership to a large company out of Canada.
I went back to visit recently, and the people are infighting, because the company now wants to make money, so they want to build multi-million dollar homes in the meadows and on the hillsides. However, no place to build housing for the workers. As much as I miss it, I do not miss what it has become.

Boo Hoo, poor illegals. As far as who can file a lawsuit #7? In this country, anyone can file a suit against anyone for cause or for no cause. The only exception I know of is you have to get the government’s permission first if you want to sue them.

    it was
    “Where’s the beef ?”

    now the beef is
    “Where’s the citizenships ?”

Wendy’s and the illegals deserve each other. Burger King and McDonald’s in Willis did the same thing - food and service was horrible. Burger King failed and the McDonald’s fired the illegals and got their quality back. Got so bad you would point to the sign or picture of the order you wanted and you got what next came out of the kitchen - quite going to McDonald’s long ago and only go to Burger King where there aren’t alot of illegals.

Speaking of missed deadlines, Michelle Malkin reports that President Bush might not have actually signed that Border Fence Bill, and that a “pocket veto” might be in our future…

Remember the illegals that sued and won some man’s ranch land because they claimed they were hurt when trespassing?

Apparently there is a law in place where it allows employers to file papers on behalf of their employees for legal status.
As long as the enployees have jobs with their sponsors they remain legal.

  16. The Deacon on October 9th, 2006 at 4:48 pm

Well, correct me if I’m wrong, but these crooked businesses can’t “sponsor” an illegal after they sneak across the border. Heck, what’s to stop them from sponsoring every illegal that shows up on their doorsteps?

  17. Neocon on October 9th, 2006 at 5:38 pm

    No higher tax

I agree with you about McDonalds. There is one on Post Oak at the Loop. Always screw up my orders. All employees are hispanic and none speak English very well. I try to get my order across and give up. I ask if there is anyone there who speaks English. They employ 1 blonde, English speaking girl who takes my order correctly. Unfortunately, all the rest are hispanic and they totally screw it up every time. I just sit here until they get it right. They really hate to see me coming.

    They filed a lawsuit?
Who says the illegals aren’t assimilating?

Eafe Express I believe was started by the Chef and successful Guru of Cafe Annie on Post Oak Blvd. in the Posh “Uptown Enclave” It was like a “fast Food” trip through the $100.00 a plate dinner for the “Rich and want-to-be Famous” or what we southerners calls the “Denova-riche”

I too notice a quality slide, as you can see the same with the Chilpolte and Bostom Market acquisitions by McDonalds.. How long will PF Chang’s keep the quality at their fast food “spin” of Pei Wei.

If the employees authorized the employer to make a deduction on their behalf and pay the same to an attorney, then the liability falls to the attorney as the employer was not selling legal services and can not do so in Texas… the attys made sure of that.

So the illegals, of whom were illegal when they came here, when the started working here and when they had to be legally terminated from employment are and were just as illegal as the day as ehn they came here.

Are we going to talk about all of the services they consumed while being here illegally or the taxes that they did pay or did not pay, that is not the measurement that we, by a country of laws, of which they seek to join, works.

So I must say this is much to do about nothing, and it’s sad for them and I have a heartfelt sympathy for their plight. Had they legally applies for admission to this country back when the first came, then they would probably be US citizens by now and we would not be wasting pity on those that tried to screw and “scape” the system taht they are once again seeking refuge from!
