There is a long road between design specifications and manufacturing a fully capable plutonium implosion type ballistic missile-capable nuclear warhead. Neither North Korea nor Iran’s nuclear programs — which should be looked at as one large international program — has top level quality control necessary for the design to work out of the box.

Since the NK nuke popped at some level between 550 ton and 4.2 KT of TNT, that makes it a “fizzle” — a test failure.

However, since the NK’s and Iranians are using a *proven design*, 1-2 more shots in the test series in next couple of months means Iran will have a dozen plutonium implosion Scud missile warheads about 100 days after the last test results come in.
The odds of the world seeing a nuclear war involving Iranian/NK nukes are about 50-50 before the end of Pres Bush’s second term of office.

    Well, gosh.

Maybe it IS time for John Kerry.

After all, he is so well thought of in certain totalitarian parts of Southeast Asia.

Maybe Kerry could keep the peace … or arrange a peaceful surrender.

Seriously, nothing can be done with North Korea unless the Chinese do it. Problem is, China probably has tacitly encouraged North Korea to do just what it has done to keep the U.S. occupied and/or disclose some trump card.

That would allow the Chinese to counter that trump card in the almost inevitable U.S.-China war.

China doesn’t want war with the US. They want Taiwan. Simple as that. Question is how long will they wait before they think we’ve financed their military to such a degree that we wouldn’t risk a nuclear war with them. My answer is that Taiwan must have nuclear weapons and Japan must have nuclear weapons if Korea has nuclear weapons. Then Red China will have something they have to think about before they try to invade Taiwan.

I’m still waiting for somebody to award me one of my own F&S awards. Wouldn’t be kosher if I did it myself. But I don’t think I’ve rated one yet either.

It’s time the poor, starving down-trodden people of North Korea banded together and revolted against their leaders…let them start the revolution…they will have many who will help them. A revolution must start within.

The country depends on international support to feed it…it’s time the people of North Korea stood up and be counted!

Trivia Question: Is Halfbright that short or is Kim standing on a box?

  9. sunny on October 9th, 2006 at 5:45 pm

Maybe ‘Halfbright’ was testing out the hole where Kim Wrong-Sick planned to let off his firecracker, Neo!

  10. Neocon on October 9th, 2006 at 7:33 pm

    Sunny

That must be it! I’ve heard Kimmy is only 5′2″ I know halfbright is not that short. (not that there is anything wrong with that!)

  11. sunny on October 9th, 2006 at 10:25 pm

Well, I guess I tower over both of them…and there’s nothing wrong with that either! ;) I’m just over 5′8″…why is it I wonder short men think they are giants? ;)
