The Chronicle’s circulation slide continues, according to Editor & Publisher:
Houston Chronicle: 508,097, (-3.6%)
Our beloved hometown rag, despite dumping free copies all over town, is losing circulation at the rate of more than 100 copies a day, every day.
Here are the last few E&P circulation numbers for Houston’s Leading Information Source:
- Down 3.6 percent (through March 2006)
- Down 6 percent (through September 2005)
- Down 3.9 percent (through March 2005)

Oneth! Couldn’t happen to a nicer bunch of folks!
I miss the Post.
This is the form email I send to the Chron when I receive the “free copies”, since sending the email, they have greatly reduced littering my yard.
Those numbers don’t add up…
Sep 06 circulation = 508,097 (-3.6%)
This indicates the previous circulation count in Mar 06 should be 527,072 not 513,387 as indicated in the Sep 2005 circulation post http://lonestartimes.com/2006/05/08/newspaper-circulation-skid-continues/
If it was truly a 3.6% decline, the correct circulation number should be 494,905. Otherwise the decline is a MERE 1.03%.
Please correct me, if I’ve missed something…
And we are surprised how???
Yawn :0
newspapers are so last century….
I don’t care about reading about Liberals who spin the news events, etc. to their own liking and mislead the public. They are not fair in publishing the facts or the truth.
