I heard this call too. It also sounded like Edd was not too pleased with the Dem endorsment either.

    Heard it too…oooh, someone’s offended.. :)

Orlando is a rino and his salary alone would be a taxcpayer waste.

Edd hasn’t called or emailed me about it, and we talk pretty regularly.

I tuned in right as that caller started; it may be that Edd was perturbed about being thrown a conversational curve-ball right before the top of the hour. (It is a difficult thing for a host to handle; you are trying to figure out how to stop talking so that it sounds good when the news starts, and suddenly you’ve got to express yourself on a topic you hadn’t been given 2 seconds to collect your thoughts on first.)

Regardless, if he’s got a different take on it, fine… I absolutely love Edd Hendee, and he is a treasured friend and mentor. He’d be the last person on Earth to ever hold it against someone for standing on their principles, even if in so doing they make life a little “uncomfortable” for a close friend. ;)

I guess this just “proves” once again that LST is not a lock-step “tool” of KSEV, Dan or Edd.

Eventually people will start to believe it.

Republicans have castigated Democrats for their blind loyalty to their party. Please, don’t let the same thing happen to Republicans. I have never voted straight party ticket. I consider each and every race. Although 99% of my votes are for Republicans, I have voted for judges and others running as Democrats. Case in point, I will not (and I have never) voted for family law Judge Annette Galik. She is absolutely not qualified for the bench and her approval ranking (bar poll) is in the toilet. Yet she keeps getting elected term after term because of the R behind her name.

I vote on election day, not before. I carefully review each and every race and take my time in the voting booth. I would hope other Republicans would do the same thing.

I put this in a private email earlier today. Seeing Benzion’s post, I think it is appropriate here:

I was disconnected from the web for 24 hours (via work and family; I am still going through withdrawal), and look what happens!!

You would have thought we were suggesting that Lucifer be elected or something close to it.

Good night! We “suggested” 1 Democrat and 1 Independent out of 15 races. That’s not counting “No” to all props, no to a Bond, vote against the incumbents in NHMCCD and straight ticket Republican in Galveston.

From now on, what’s the point of saying anything if everyone is going to get their panties in a wad if it isn’t straight Republican. I thought “Conservatives” prided themselves on not being straight ticket voters like those “yellow dog Democrats” and being independent thinkers?

Mark my words, “Things change”. Someday, there won’t be a Conservative running in an election as a Republican. Then what? Do you continue to vote Republican because that’s what you have always done? That’s what’s happening right now to a bunch of Democratic voters and you can’t talk them out of it.

    Just my .02.

I voted yesterday and voted for a Democrat, Mr. Garcia. Oh my gosh, the sky is falling. Mr. Sanchez is one of those politicians that give me the heebeegeebees.

I think the absolute worst talk radio ever was when Orlando filled in for Dan(okay, the current 3 amigos are giving him a run for his money).

It doesn’t say much for this site if the people behind it recommend lock and step only republicans whether or not they believe the republicans running are the best candidates for the office. Kudos to each and every one of you for being honest. I too don’t vote lock step for republicans, but rarely do I find someone who claims to be a democrat that I’m willing to cast a vote for. Unfortunately in this day and age, there are a number of so-called republicans in office and running for office that have lost sight of what the real important issues are.

I voted last week. The treasures race was my only Democrat vote.

Removing support from a false “conservative” like Rick Perry does not run counter to the conservative movement (if there is such a thing). It supports it. If people want support for conservatives, they ought to nominate one.

Sometimes I think I understand everything, then I regain consciousness.

Voting strictly party line is as bad as voting all incumbents out .
I think it will be a lot better if candidates did not have a party , just run on issues they are passionate about and we should vote who we think shares our values.
Case in point, I voted in last primary for Dan Patrick because of his stand on property tax. I would have voted for him even if he had a D or I after his name. He was the only one talking about property tax which was an important issue for me.
