Thanks to a tip by JohnRH, we learn that the City of Houston isn’t the only organization in the area buying votes with flu shots. Seems the Galveston County Health Department is doing the same. Looks like I’ve got some calls to make…
UPDATE:
It would seem that the Galveston County program is significantly different from the Houston program. First off, the Flu shots are available to all comers, and they are not free. All recipients must pay $20 for the flu vaccine and $30 for the pneumonia vaccine. I just got off the phone with Kurt Koopmann with the Galveston County Health Department who explained the program to me. In addition, the clinics are outside the 100′ marker, and in one instance they had to rent a tent in order to be far enough away. In another location they are in a separate building.
I withdraw my objections with this program. This is the way that the CoH should have done it.

Is this only the “tip of the iceberg” as far vote buying goes?? This is how the Democrats keep getting votes—-Handouts and freebies with strings attached—-If you want this to continue, you got to vote for us. When the liberal media reports on this, they always say the “conservatives” are behind all this. The “conservatives” don’t want you to have all this. The “conservatives” only care about the rich.
This issue made Drudge.
No shite?
Why would I shyte you? (second try; HAL is active now)
Open the pod bay doors HAL….
I’m sorry Dave, I’m afraid I can’t do that…
The Drudge report links to the Houston Chronicle article.
Now you really are Drudgeschach ™
ah who cares if you buy votes or lie under oath. it just proves laws are made to not enfore. hence illegals. and on and on and on…..
I heard on the news last night that the City of Houston was canceling its program because it violated the law.

Opps Sorry - My #9 was meant for the open comments thread!
I’ve never had the flu in my life…and I’ve never had a flu injection and don’t intend ever getting one either…not that my decision affects you up there!
#11: Sunny, why did you just say that? Now you are destined to get it this year!
The flu vaccine is made to the “projected” type of flu that will hit. Last year or year before, I took my mom to get the shot. She got a different kinda flu. Almost killed her. I’m a rebel. I’ll take my chances. Also, the only kind of health plan that I have is that I PLAN on not getting sick!
lol southerntragedy…nope…I say it all the time!
I have the same health plan as you…strange that…and countries apart!

Good info all the same!! Does speak volumes for what is at stake here…….Dr. John Hagee spoke on Savage tonight, and said something profound, I thought.
He said, ‘vote this election as if your life depended on it’; I believe he may just be right.
Good info: hat tip to you, Neo!!

Flu Shots at Polling Places

Idaho — When you vote next Tuesday, you can also protect yourself from influenza by getting a flu shot.
Thanks to a government grant, 17 states, including Idaho, will be offering flu vaccines at certain polling places.
This baby boomer dislikes shots and refuses to be innoculated for anything else (already had my DPT shots years and years ago as an infant, but never had MMR shot or any of the others). Through great genes, been healthy for 60 years and intend to stay that way. Three of my friends have had flu shots and the flu got them anyway (one of them had to be hospitalized and almost left us). Wash your hands frequently and avoid crowds when possible.
