There is a rumor circulating in DC that Supreme Court Justice John Paul Stevens, the oldest serving Justice and one of the most liberal, is in dire health and may be forced to retire before the end of the year. If the democrats win control of the Senate, they will fight every single appointee with filibusters and the Republicans will be unable to shut them down. While there is hope that Rick Santorum will pull out a victory, as will several other Republican Senators, almost all of the polls in the Senate races show the Republicans either tied, or within striking distance and with momentum. Let’s hope that happens because frankly, losing the Senate is just not an outcome I want to contemplate.

Audrina Garza says she was pummeled on the field during P.E. class because she couldn’t speak Spanish.

The 15-year-old sophmore said the Hispanic girls attacked her even though she’s also Hispanic.

“I told them that I wasn’t going to do anything, that I dont’ know them and I wasnt’ going to do anything,” said Garza. “I told them you’re in America.”

Iraqi court sentences Saddam Hussein to death by hanging

(Haaretz.com) Saddam was found guilty of involvement in a genocide of 148 Kurds in 1982 following an assassination attempt against him.

Saddam’s half brother, Barzan Ibrahim, and the one-time head of Iraq’s former Revolutionary Court, Awad Hamed al-Bandar, were also sentenced to death.

Former vice president Taha Yassin Ramadan was sentenced to life in prison, while former Baath Party official Mohammed Azawi Ali was acquitted and immediately freed for lack of evidence. Three other party officials, including a father and son, were sentenced to up to 15 years in prison for torture and premeditated murder.
