    I heard on the news that Saddam made a heartfelt appeal today - but I never dreamed it was a spare change appeal for LST ;0}

    BSUE, that was great! giggle giggle!
    Did he really make a heartfelt appeal? Did he finally figure out that all of the virgins were taken by now? (Or did he hear that Nancy Pelosi, Hillary Clinton and Janet Reno were the only one’s left?

    It was a different kind of heartfelt appeal - and it seems like Kicky Katie was the one who used that term - Al Awasat was a little more pragmatic about it.

    BAGHDAD, Iraq, (AP) - A somber Saddam Hussein called on Iraqis to forgive each other Tuesday, when he returned to court two days after being sentenced to death for crimes against humanity in another case.

    Saddam, speaking to the court in the afternoon session, cited references to the Prophet Muhammad and Jesus who had asked for forgiveness for those who opposed them.

    “I call on all Iraqis, Arabs and Kurds, to forgive, reconcile and shake hands,” Saddam said after respectfully challenging one witness’ testimony.

    I reckon old Saddam would have a lot of dollars and gold stashed away somewhere too! Forget the weapons of mass destruction, let’s go looking for his stash! ;)
