And it promotes LST to the Dallas audience.
rinos deserve every bit of bad that happens to them. bush signed us up for free social security and Medicare along with an open border without being honest enough to tell us the truth. perry passed the Tran- Texas corridor and the business income tax in the middle of the night just like a thief.
I still hope the demos get the houser and impeach bush as the liar deserves no better. perry this is his last hurrah as he can’t be trusted beyond the thief state he has created. I only hope we don’t wind up with that gutless hutch or darth dewhurst as the next Governor.

Let’s hope John Kerry did the Democrats in for 2006. It will be interesting to see how the liberal media spins a complete Democratic loss, if that occurs. It will be interesting to see who they blame, too. If only the Republicans had not caught that disease, Democratism, the election wouldn’t be so close or lost.
Now Smacky, there’s no need to be sarcastic. Gmland is obviously more intelligent than any of us. So be a good lad and go cast that straight ticket Republican vote even though you don’t really believe they represent you.
Isn’t democracy great? All you moan and groaners should sit down and pour yourselves a fresh cup of “Think about It”.
No party or political philosophy has a lock on power and that is the way it should be.
I tend to be a fiscal conservative and vote that way (when I can), but sometimes you just have to vote the rascals out.
Tomorrow morning, the sun will still rise in the East, we will still catch colds and pay taxes, and the USA will still go on. The old gal is a lot tougher than some of you guys give her credit.
#24 I wonder how long will it take for you “Doormat Republicans” to begin to complain, for example, about the Shelly “busybody” Gibbs’ (if she wins) voting record.
#17 tedtam, My 18 year old boy votes for the first time today also. Yes Virginia, there is hope, my 21 year old daughter and my 18 year old son, will continue to vote to save our country, after I’m dead and gone. BTW; they have both discovered who “FICA” is and why he shows up on their paystub.
#40 Definitely Blonde, I agree, I voted Kinky also.
BTW; gmland,…Next time tell us what you really think, don’t hold it back.
This e-mail today.
Do yourself and the country of ours a favor and do not be a mindless sheep or a blind liberal lap dog, bent on hate and blame shifting simply in the name of hate and blame shifting. Take heed of reality, use your head and cast your vote wisely in the upcoming elections. The stakes are far too high today, as America ’s very future, and yes, even its very survival is now at stake.
I’ll tell you what. After weeks of soul-searching, listening to all sides of the story. I cast my vote for Governor of Texas this morning.
I voted for RICK FREAKIN’ PERRY.
I stand behind my vote as being the best choice among a field of poor choices. Perry has mucho faults, but I have no faith that Friedman can or will address these issues.
#46 - Out of all of the candidates, only Perry even comes close to addressing issues important to me. I agree with Kinky on shutting down the TTC, but all the other promises he made, I simply regard as bunk.
Jarred Woodfill values GOP victory more than Senior Heath. The point of a program like this was to get free vaccines to people who need them. Thanks Jarred and Harris County GOP for making life just a little harder for us. At least you have a consistant platform. I hope the GOP keeps Woodfill until the Democrats have retaken the county. Thanks!
No further discussion, no attempts at a rebuttal. Anyone care to join me in enlightening them on the issue?
I’m not willing to give Friedman a chance, and I voted for the guy I thought was overall the best. I thought that would merit a bit more respect than that…
Your canidate will probably win. For that we will put with several more years of an arrogant rino lying to us and continuing to piss off Conservative voters.
Perry wins and we can see the TTC as a reality, don’t count on any Property tax relief, count on higher taxes, The border fiasco will not receive any additional help, the extremely unfair business tax will continue to ruin many small business owners, our schools will continue to be among the worst, ect.
We have a lot of conservatives that said they held their noses and voted for Perry. Do you think that will solve the voter discontent or just put it off until the next election when it may effect so many other good canidates?
it really comes down to the fact that if you don’t like who the Republicans put up for Governor then you need to work to getting him replaced in the PRIMARIES..
Jimb, is willing to stand up and say who he voted for and the reason why. I can also understand the fact that he believes that Perry is the best of a poor slate of candidates. I will bet good money, that Jimb will be working to get Perry out and doing everything he can to oppose the things that he does not agree with.
I have also stood and said whi I vote for and why.
Perry lost my respect and vote when he LIED to us. He was not mistaken, and he did not chage his mind, he LIED.
After Perry lost my support I looked to the remaining canidates for the one I believed would most closely represent my views. I choose Kinky and have listed the reasons for doing so many times.
#60, trl3, it comes back down to the fact that there are some people here at LST who have gone so far down the “vote out the incumbants” mind set that they have lost their perspective, just like the Harris County GOP has lost perspective about true conservatives not being smart enough to not have to vote strait ticket to ensure that they are still in power.
It’s been said, insanity is doing the same thing over and over and expecting different results.
#56 bweldon
We’ve covered this already, it does not work. The party machine gets behind someone (incumbent) and the fix is in. We the people don’t get to decide, in most cases. You care to give a better answer.
#63 - in my mind, the better answer is to more effectively mobilize the people to vote in the primaries and really pay attention to what is going on. I’ll be working for that, but unfortunately, it’ll take things getting a lot worse before people pay attention to such “minor” elections…
#63, WRONG, the key is in the primaries you get involved after the polls close as well as at the local level. The more people you get involved in your neighborhood, the louder your voice. The political machine can be defeated, but it takes a true grass roots level commitment
jimb is a hack and a traitor for voting for that SOB friend of greggs Perry. He’s just a busybody do gooder better than all of us Perrybot. I can’t stand the smell of this place with him around!
*Jimb is a conservatard, traiterous, Rechimplican lickspittle beeplebot who must die for his utterly callous disregard for the will of the commenters of LST. And a hearty “neener neener boo boo” to boot. And what Smacktle and Liz said, too. Yeah.
* I actually consider Jimb to be a good friend and my above comment was completely in jest. If it’s really necessary for me to explain that, you probably shouldn’t vote.
#72
the Democrats will (rightly so) protest every single misspelled Gibbs vote, and try to have them thrown out.
The Republican lawyers, the same morons who didn’t point at Frank Lautenberg and say “he is the precedent for replacing a candidate on the ballot”, will roll over and let the Dims have their way.
Republicans don’t know how to win. They think you win by being nice. No, you win by destroying the opposition. Take a hint from Carville and Begala… it works.
Whoever wins will win. Then is the time for LST, CLOUT, your Mothers, Fathers, Brothers, Sisters, Cats & Dogs to thouroughly hammer them into submission through emails, phone calls, blog comments, radio comments and such.
# 11 No higher Tax
Impeachment of a President, though democratic, does not serve nation well.
The country should be looking ahead and not thinking about revenge.
One sincerely hopes that the arrogance of the ruling party will be replaced by tolerance and respect towards party out of favor.
Some of us conservatives need to remember that the people we disagreed with in this election are the people we are going to need to work with in the next 2 years if we are going to turn out the RINO’s and continue to replace them with real conservatives.
# 29 Robert
If election is won or lost on account of a silly joke, it does not say much flattering about voters.
Do you really think we, the voters , are so dumb that issues which facing us are less important than a laughter?
The “Doormat Republicans” say to work from within. What happened at the state convention when it came time to vote for censuring Perry because of his business tax increase? Remember when a resolution to add into the GOP platform opposition to Perry’s business tax was raised? What happened?
The base really had a lot to say.
The puppetteers moved the strings and the puppets moved accordingly.
I do not think Kerry told a silly Joke. I think Kerry said exactly what he meant to say. Kerry has a history of contempt for the men and women that serve in our military. Sadly many liberals agree with him.
#36 Simple simon
Not only sun will rise from it’s original place we will continue to write the same thing and complain about being ignored by the very people we have just voted in.
The reason is obvious.
There are no differences between the two parties, there seems to be an unwritten alliance between them not to encourage a third party so they can take turns in Govt.
Earmark projects by our lawmakers in Congress where billions of your tax $$$$$$$$ are wasted on an yearly basis is pathetic. If a fresh Congressman stands up to address this topic he is shouted down and gets the treatment equivalent to ‘Go stand in the corner and face the wall.
Seems to me that the pre-requisition for this exclusive club are corruption and greed.
That said, I would not worry who has the majority!
Dang! I agree with two out of three of your points. I really need to check my temperature.
Impeachment of a President, though democratic, does not serve nation well.
The country should be looking ahead and not thinking about revenge.
One sincerely hopes that the arrogance of the ruling party will be replaced by tolerance and respect towards party out of favor.
Wino
Two out of three is NOT bad.
It’s not my writing, it’s a sign of tolerance on your part.
My father always said,”travelling is educational”
You are learning.
Maybe so, but sKerry really does despise the military, as does Clintoon. I hope this destroys his political career, even if it was supposed to be “in jest.”
John Kerry may have wanted us to think it was a silly joke but since he defiantely refused to apologize to anybody at the time, he took it to the next level and people interpreted it as his true beliefs about the military which in his opinion required no apology. I knew that the voters would not decide based on whether it was a silly joke or not but on how John Kerry and the Democratic Party handled the situation. It took people in his own party to tell him he screwed up and then he didn’t publicly apologize but posted it on his website. That tells you more about the candidate and his party because there were some who still defended his actions. I have always believed the Democratic party wants back into power thru bad things happening to the American people rather than having ideas, plans and principles which one would judge better than anothers.
#98 Why apologize for something that you didn’t say/do? Kerry’s apology was insincere.
If someone is offended for something I did not say I would not apologize. I would demand an apology from anyone that ripped a portion of what I said out of its context to be used for their own purposes. It is the definition of sophistry.I do not condone such things from anyone, including Democrats.
It is rather hard for a public figure to apologize for something not said or done. His belated apology was merely a political act to satisfy his enemies.
Kerry will still be hated even if he walked on his head.
You have got to read the entire story! This sounds like something I would do (and probably every gal on this blog)!
BALL GROUND, Ga. — A woman who was raped and beaten by an old acquaintance fought back, stabbing her attacker to death when he threatened to rape her 6-year-old daughter.
WATER…… It has been scientifically proven that if we drink 1 liter of water each day, at the end of the year we would have absorbed more than 1
kilo of Escherichia coli bacteria found in feces, in other words, we are consuming 1 kilo of poop!
However, we do not run that risk when drinking wine (or rum, whiskey, vodka, beer or other liquors) because alcohol has to go through a
distillation process of boiling, filtering and fermenting.
It is better to drink wine and talk sh*t than to drink water and be full of sh*t.
There is no need to thank me for this valuable information, I am doing it as a public service.
(Especially for Matt “Zizza.”)
I voted early. Hope all of you did as well!
IMHO The lawyers will have the final results of many races tied up for days(?) weeks(?) months(?) before we actually know the outcome. Any others think the same? It’ll be interesting to see how many Dem. suits vs Rep. suits there are in the final tally. And who wins the suits.
/or maybe not…..
#112:distillationprocessdrinker/notfullofpoop:
I whole heartedly agree with one (you left out inventing the internet)and two for sure. Three could very well come to pass. Time will certainly tell. He’s headed in that direction pretty rapidly.
I don’t think it is stretch to make my claim. Take the war on terror, the Democrats got the same information the President got, they authorized action be taken but now all of sudden the war and its losses become an issue. The Democrats want a change in course without offering a plan. Another example is all this fighting to stop the Patriotic Act and wire tapping by the Democrats. Another example is the treatment of the so-called prisoners of war (on terror), the Democrats want them treated better than the terrorists are treating our captured soliders. Another example is all the good news about the economy and unemployment and the liberal media hides the stories. Let’s face it, the Democrats only plan is let us fix everything that is bad. We can fix it with bigger government and more taxes. Let us “cut and run” and retreat to our shores, the terrorist will not come here. The voters need to wake up, things are not as good as they wish but having a Democrat in office isn’t going to solve it.
Been on the net wagon as of late. Need to catch up some. HOW ‘BOUT THEM HOGS!!! Think HAMous is sceered yet? How long has it been since you had a big ole steamin’ bowl of Gator Stew?
My mind is full of useless trivia…so here goes on the Hee Haw songs not remembered by one of the above posters:
Where O where, are you tonite
Why did you leave me here all alone
I searched the world over
And thought I found true love
You met another and (strawberry) you were gone
You will never catch me repeating gossip
So you better be sure to listen up the first time
Pathetic…I know But folks want me on their team playing Trivial Pursuit!
That kid likely has more integrity (when he learns the definition anyways) in his little finger than ALL the poliiticos wearing their ‘kneepads du jour’ across America!!
#117 Hogfan: How U IZ? Long time no hear!
I’m an Old Hog allright. Gonna be one more year a BIG fan on Saturday. A sweet victory over Tennessee would be a great birthday present! It’s going to be televised nationally on the 11th.
It’s a good thing we have more TV’s than family in the house!
Hammy has been baitin’ us a tad saying how them Gaters are going to gave Hog jowls for dinner at the SEC Conference Championships. I told him don’t set a plate just yet!
Gator stew sounds mighty nice… along with a new pair of red alligator boots with Arkansas Razorbacks SEC Champions engraved on the side.
#117 Hogfan:
Tried to answer you but got deleted. Didn’t know Razorbacks was a no-no word???
Should be interesting this Sat! I’d like nothing better than a birthday present of A Hog voctory over Tennessee! It’s going to be televised nationally!
Jimb: daaahhhling….I will be the first in line to take my whoopin’ like a manlygirl. (although, by the time the last one is beaten, you’d be tired…..hmmmm…)
I am not here to condemn anyone. I think most here have voted by their beliefs and that’s fine by me. This is only for the Governor, for goodness sakes!
Been super busy at work and haven’t eaten lunch yet, so I’m going home and will catch up to y’all later! (especially gmland, but I will eat first, re-read and then post) I’ll be baaaaack!
What an interesting article from Orson Card! And especially from an admitted Dem… I think he had a very succinct definition/description of the issues in the War on Terror (I especially appreciate his caution that this should not be called the “War in Iraq”). I’m concerned that my votes (and yes, I voted!) will not be those that have an effect on what happens with the Congress. Texas House/Senate members are probably “safe”.
Harris Co Pct # 522 reporting in……….WOW BIG TURNOUT!
There were approximately 75 voters still waiting in line when the doors closed at 7pm for ’signing up’………….the folks reported between 300 - 400 ‘early’ voters and over 1500 (best guess) today……..in an ‘off presidential’ election year with a Pct numbering 3500 that’s a substantial turnout!
Why do some repub voters shoot themselves in the foot in order to TEACH THE RINO’S A LESSON? Haven’t any of you people ever heard of the primaries? The system doesn’t work if you react with emotion instead of doing our jobs in the first place. If the MSM is accurate I will be disgusted with all those holier-than-thou repubs.
You guys really need to read Jimb’s posts and take note. Some of you disgust me with your lack of vision. You know who you are.
JeffJ
Well now that you have flamed just about everyone on this board….have you considered that it may be our vision that makes us vote our conscience?
Oh you did not? Well let me spell it out for you, 25 years of my 51 years of age driving 18 wheelers taught me one thing…I do not have to shake hands with a snake and truthfulness to my principles has never steered me wrong.
MY vote is the loudest voice I have and besides who is to say that EVERYONE that voted for someone other than Perry was a protest vote? Ever think that it is our opinion that we find him unfit for the position. So you can come down off your high horse YOUNG MAN my vision is just fine thank you.
Flame off, there, Human Torch! I just post my opinion! People can vote for Friedman or against Perry or for Mickey Mouse, and I’ll respect that, as long as I don’t get the “You’re a fool for voting for Perry” treatment…
Jimb, I stand by my statement. Your very forgiving IMO and that is respectable. These guys just frost me with their (I vote my concience) crap. Vote for the best candidate, not the lesser of evils. I’ve said it a number of times and…nothing. They don’t understand. All the responses are about how I think I’m smarter than they are and therefore I’m a retard and they are superior. I remain sickened.
You cut-n-run conservatives remind me of the sports team that believes if they loose enough then they’ll get the number one draft pick next year, and then we’ll show’em . Yeah, thats a wining strategy. Congratulations, it seems your getting exactly what you want. This statement only applies to those of you who think that way. Not everyone here.

45
Throwing yourself to the koolaid drinking wolves there, jimb.
You did what you thought was best.
Thanks for voting.
correcto mundo vlou!
#52
If not voting for a lying, RINO makes me a koolaid drinker, SO BE IT.
If not voting for a liberal in comedian’s clothing makes me wrong, then SO BE IT…
#53, #49, #51, All
it really comes down to the fact that if you don’t like who the Republicans put up for Governor then you need to work to getting him replaced in the PRIMARIES..
Jimb, is willing to stand up and say who he voted for and the reason why. I can also understand the fact that he believes that Perry is the best of a poor slate of candidates. I will bet good money, that Jimb will be working to get Perry out and doing everything he can to oppose the things that he does not agree with.
Damn right. And I didn’t hold my nose either. If all that is available is bad candidates, then I’ll vote for the best of the bad ones.
I’ll let you in on a little secret, though. I voted libertarian in the Lt. Governor’s race.
WOW………….I actually was able to log on! Perhumps the miracle is a result of election day?
Evvvvvvvvvvveryone PLEASE go VOTE!
#55
So be it.
#56
I have also stood and said whi I vote for and why.
Perry lost my respect and vote when he LIED to us. He was not mistaken, and he did not chage his mind, he LIED.
After Perry lost my support I looked to the remaining canidates for the one I believed would most closely represent my views. I choose Kinky and have listed the reasons for doing so many times.
trl3
I didn’t vote for Perry either. Nor Dewhurst. Nor Abott. And for the same reasons you did’t.
I’ve just grown a little weary of the rhetoric thrown at those who decided to make a different choice.
My comments were not directed at you. Your defense of your position doesn’t usually include calling others the embodiment of evil.
It’s just too bad that I don’t live somewhere where I can vote against Lampson…
#63, WRONG, the key is in the primaries you get involved after the polls close as well as at the local level. The more people you get involved in your neighborhood, the louder your voice. The political machine can be defeated, but it takes a true grass roots level commitment
jimb is a hack and a traitor for voting for that SOB friend of greggs Perry. He’s just a busybody do gooder better than all of us Perrybot. I can’t stand the smell of this place with him around!
#67 Yea. And his mommy dresses him funny too! Thbbblllllll……..
I’m not telling anyone how I voted, Jimb — I bruise much too easily, I tell ya!
Jimb taught Glen reynolds the finer techiniques of puppy blending and kitten mowing.
Just heard on the radio that the name of the write in candidate needs to be spelled exactly or it will be thrown out.
For the past several weeks we have been told that anything close will count, now we are told no.
What is it?
#72
the Democrats will (rightly so) protest every single misspelled Gibbs vote, and try to have them thrown out.

Uh, yeah, right. Let’s see, which party has had both houses of Congress and the presidency for the last 6 years? Oh, that’s right! The Republicans.

Who crashed the LST?
Well, I went straight ticket R and then made the following changes:
Goveronor - Kinky
Lt. Gov - Libertarian
Atty. G. - Libertarian
Treasurer - Garcia
NHCCD (whatever the acronym is) Bond Issue - NO!!!
I think that no matter what happens, LST is sorely lacking in one area.
We need more cowbell.
#82 Kerry served (one assumes he volunteered) in the army.
Where is his contempt for the army?
#77 Noodles
Dang! I agree with two out of three of your points. I really need to check my temperature.
Noodles you were doing great today. #86 blew it.
Sometimes noodles makes sense and sometimes he doesn’t. I can’t tell if it’s a language problem or if we need to add more water.
Wino
Two out of three is NOT bad.
It’s not my writing, it’s a sign of tolerance on your part.
My father always said,”travelling is educational”
You are learning.
Did anyone watched the whole Kerry joke and not just the selected 10 seconds? I did. And it did is a lame attempt at a humorous attack on W.
And, here comes the requisite statement before I am accused of something I am not, I am not a Democrat nor a Liberal. There!
# 88 Sc
Forgive me for NOT writing posts to please you.
Jaime,
Maybe so, but sKerry really does despise the military, as does Clintoon. I hope this destroys his political career, even if it was supposed to be “in jest.”
Rahman
Kerry served in the NAVY, hence the “swiftboat” veterans who went after him for his traitorous slander of our military in Vietnam.
94#
Neocons
I used the term’army’ loosely!
#95 Noodles
Use the word “military,” instead.
#93 Maybe so but pulling statements out of their context is wrong, no matter the pupose or who does it.
Reply to No. 79:

This is a must read if you haven’t voted yet.
This from a Democrat.

#98 Robert
Agreed. The Dems need tragedy in the US to get back into power.
And they are doing their best to insure that it happens.
@ 98 Robert
We all live by our own conviction.
It is rather hard for a public figure to apologize for something not said or done. His belated apology was merely a political act to satisfy his enemies.
Kerry will still be hated even if he walked on his head.
# 98 Robert
To suggest that democrats want to get back into power through misfortunes of this nation is streching a bit.
You have got to read the entire story! This sounds like something I would do (and probably every gal on this blog)!

The lawsuits are Algore’s legacy.
Just as bj’s are BJ Clintoon’s legacy.
Bush’s legacy will be the unchecked invasion from the south, and the associated terror attacks resulting from it.
Al Gore invented water.
#112:distillationprocessdrinker/notfullofpoop:
I whole heartedly agree with one (you left out inventing the internet)and two for sure. Three could very well come to pass. Time will certainly tell. He’s headed in that direction pretty rapidly.
Reply to No. 105 Rahman:
Bill Clinton invented BJ’s…
malcolm u ole Hog,
Been on the net wagon as of late. Need to catch up some. HOW ‘BOUT THEM HOGS!!! Think HAMous is sceered yet? How long has it been since you had a big ole steamin’ bowl of Gator Stew?
Sad day as it appears the janitorial strike may be winding down. No noise today nor are there any to be seen.
My mind is full of useless trivia…so here goes on the Hee Haw songs not remembered by one of the above posters:
Where O where, are you tonite
Why did you leave me here all alone
I searched the world over
And thought I found true love
You met another and (strawberry) you were gone
You will never catch me repeating gossip
So you better be sure to listen up the first time
Pathetic…I know
But folks want me on their team playing Trivial Pursuit!

Woo hoo, just voted… Our next governor?

Jimb: daaahhhling….I will be the first in line to take my whoopin’ like a manlygirl. (although, by the time the last one is beaten, you’d be tired…..hmmmm…)
I am not here to condemn anyone. I think most here have voted by their beliefs and that’s fine by me. This is only for the Governor, for goodness sakes!
Been super busy at work and haven’t eaten lunch yet, so I’m going home and will catch up to y’all later! (especially gmland, but I will eat first, re-read and then post) I’ll be baaaaack!
#101
#124 - Kinky tryin’ to look like Kid Rock there or what?
Flame off, there, Human Torch! I just post my opinion! People can vote for Friedman or against Perry or for Mickey Mouse, and I’ll respect that, as long as I don’t get the “You’re a fool for voting for Perry” treatment…
If you’re quick enough Malcolm, you can jump on a flight and be here for my party on Saturday and then celebrate yours when you get home on Saturday!
It is being said at FOX that
25% of votes for Democrats are coming from
conservatives.
That’s a protest vote and for the next few years
we come to know the focus of that vision.
Whose the leader of the club
that’s made for you and me?
#134…………must really SUK to be you bubba……………..
….we all get one bullet……….shoot it as you see fit and move on!
Not everyone here.
gmland Says:

‘No higher tax, southerntragedy, headshaker, etc… - you’re the reason God made Oklahoma(and it wants you to come home)..!
This is my last hurrah on LST, might as well go out with a bang… ( endorsing Kinky?!? )
All you cut and runners, imagine if there was a prosthetic aisle at Walmart - then you
