    WHHHOOOOOOOPPP!
Aggies know how to kick butt!

This is a very brilliant plan by Rove to kill democrats through implosion of too much delight!

Careful those around liberals right now, they may self-combust with sheer joy from last nights election results, and now this!

Nothing says defense quite like educrat.

For the record, Gates didn’t go to A&M - he went to W&M, Indiana and Georgetown. He just worked there.

    And the rollover has begun.
Get some backbone you #$^&$# Republicans!!

See my #1 post in response to Owen’s post, this might not be as bad a thing as it might appear at first blush.

#1 If they let him. We have a leadership issue. Plus, for all you aggies out there, not everyone that comes from A&M is worth a crap. Besides. He didn’t.

I think Gates was a good choice to lead A&M over the last several years - from the ‘outside’, he seemed to have a strong drive to help them shed some of the insular goofiness that burdens their image and start acting like the top-flight research university that they are.

It will be interesting to see who the Ags choose to replace him. Even more importantly, I’m curious to see his impact on the Defense Department and the War on Terror given his background with CIA. The pressure will be enormous and he won’t have a lot of time (or, potentially, flexibility) to change the course.

You don’t understand the Aggie culture. Trust me, he’s “one of us” now. You don’t get immersed in that society without it affecting you. Nothing says “we’re from Texas, we’re proud of it, and we like you” quite like 20 people saying “howdy” to you in a day. Nuthin’.

    Tedtam were you a ct?

No, just a regular student. But I have many fond memories. Like the one where I missed seeing the guy streak out of our dorm at 1:00 am. I heard a crash, and by the time I made it to the door, all I saw were girls’ heads popping out of their doors. You know the “event” where some poor schlub has his underwear chained to a flagpole? Well, from what I gathered, this guy was chained to a grocery cart and then left by my door. To get out, he had extricate himself (causing lots of noise) and running quickly out of the dorm and across campus without getting caught by the Kampus Kops.

    Ahhh, the good ol’ days!

Remind some day to tell you about the Lime Runs (affectionately known as “Crime Runs”) I participated in as a member of the Sports Car Club. I don’t know if they still do them; with all the development, it might be getting a little more difficult.

    @ 02 Stomer
Now the political landscape in Washington has changed.
Do you think Carl Rove’s politics will change accordingly?

You are correct as it is okay to be goofy when you realize the the claws to recover the Russian sub off the coast of Hawaii were designed there, It has a wind tunnel which is rented by all sorts of companies and the US govt. for research. A nuclear reactor and a cyclotron are also on campus. So being goofy is okay when you think of all the military reseach is done there. I remember the story about President Rudder meeting the SDS as they tried to march on to the campus ( fact or fiction I don’t know). Why are there no Frat or Soroity houses on campus because the Administrators knew that the gays would get one there also. Yeah we are goofy and not really politically correct but when you consider that when the country needs defending we are amoung the first in line and not the protest line.
