    Just disgusted.

  2. glynne on November 8th, 2006 at 12:16 am

I’m posting this here mainly to remind myself. If it helps you, great!

Some trust in chariots and some in horses,
but we trust in the name of the LORD our God. Ps. 20:7 (ESV)

I’ll add, “…and some trust in government and politicians…”. No matter how the election turns out, Christians should understand all the real, true and right answers come from God. Politicians are a poor substitute for good answers. I know all too often I think they’ll solve our problems. Now this does not negate our responsibility, as God has given us a unique position in this world for being able to (somewhat) decide our destiny. Will we choose life or death?

We should also be reminded that we have the capability to change the course of our country either by voting or other means dictated in the constitution. It’s not limited to voting and politicians.

    I’m done.

How in the world can half of America vote in virtual communists? Why? For more welfare? More handouts? More civil rights for terrorists??

Has the entire nation gone insane??

All the democrats offer is socialism!

The terrorists are locking and loading, I know they are! They’re gearing up for another attack now because we have the A*Hole democrats in power.

    Make me SICK!

  4. ThunderHawkk on November 8th, 2006 at 12:29 am

Pelosi is Cindy Sheehan with power. We’re all dead. It’s worse than you can imagine.

Learn Spanish. Buy radioactive-proof gear and lots of sunscreen.

Those who survive will envy the dead.

A land of spanish-speaking welfare dependent radiation-poisoned zombies on the lookout for bands of roving muslim hordes….

We’re all dead. But before I go, I’m taking as many of them with me as I can. I’ve got the ordinance. I’ve got the land. Come and get me.

    Don’t stop, thinking about tomorrow,

Don’t stop, it’ll soon be here,

    It’ll be, better than before,

    Yesterday’s gone, yesterday’s gone.

    The very best post I have ever read any where;

    SimpleSimon Says:

Isn’t democracy great? All you moan and groaners should sit down and pour yourselves a fresh cup of “Think about It”.

No party or political philosophy has a lock on power and that is the way it should be.

I tend to be a fiscal conservative and vote that way (when I can), but sometimes you just have to vote the rascals out.

Tomorrow morning, the sun will still rise in the East, we will still catch colds and pay taxes, and the USA will still go on. The old gal is a lot tougher than some of you guys give her credit.

College Election…Look on the bright side:

An alleged Republican runs to keep the Democrat incumbent in power and succeeds!

3 out of 5 races were wins!

    2 incumbents were knocked out!

It’s a hard fought battle with an amazing outcome with the forces of $2 MILLION against pocket change!

Three totally unknowns garner as much or nearly as many votes as some that spent thousands, one wins!

Now we wonder how some people get elected!

  8. golfer1 on November 8th, 2006 at 5:22 am

Nationwide, too many Republicans acted like democrats, and then they wonder why they lost…Too much spending, not enough border security…

  9. dugger on November 8th, 2006 at 5:40 am

Let’s all pause a moment to give thanks to Tom “the Hammer” Delay for costing the Republicans the House. What say you?

  10. dowjones25k on November 8th, 2006 at 5:43 am

hey those folks in the city of houston will vote for anything.

i propose that we put on the ballot to rename the city of houston to “Little Mexico” ya know they would vote for it. shoot vote for all those props so the city can rape them - well hey its just a city might as well rename it!! we are outnumbered ya know.

  11. dugger on November 8th, 2006 at 5:52 am

The bottom line, the hungry, the poor, the tired masses have spoken. And since their more of them than us, they win in a Democracy. Had the Republicans not forgot who put them in office and what they promised to do to get elected, this sky-is-falling senerio wouldn’t be happening. And with Lieberman winning, the Democrats have already won regardless of Montana and Virginia.

  12. BSue on November 8th, 2006 at 6:12 am

My analysis - the collective “we” has thrown out the baby with the bathwater. I must admit there were several specific races where the results surprised me, but many more where there is no surprise at all. HD Hayworth’s loss in Arizona was a surprise, whereas Rick Santorum’s in Pennsylvania was not.
The phrase that I’m afraid will haunt us the most is Nancy Pelosi’s line that they need to reach across the aisle,& “work together in partnership, not in partisanship.” Why now? The only time it’s seemed that Republican-initiated “bi-partisanship” succeeded was when the Pubbies ran all the way across the aisle and put the Dems’ agenda ahead of their own.
Ah well, it’s only national security, immigration, reasonable taxes, and the war on terror that stand to lose the most. And before someone says that I left something big out, be kind. I really need more coffee.

  14. dugger on November 8th, 2006 at 6:25 am

The Republicans had better learn to stall, block and threaten to filabuster like the Dems did or it’s so long America. But they have been such weenies with the majority I cannot imagine they will find a backbone now. And President Bush, the guy we’ve supported for 6 years, better find where the VETO pin is. Oh and one more thing, when George leaves office have him commute Duke Cunningham’s sentence for taking all those gifts while he was in office.Bill was a great ace as a pilot and letting him out would be better than all the criminals Clinton released in his last days in office.

The upside of SS Gibbs winning: We can get a real Republican next time.
One word for the remaining Republicans: filibuster.
Good job to my Tennesseans for beating back Ford.

    My biggest fears:
Repeal of te Bush tax cuts and passage of an amnesty bill (which Bush would probabaly sign)

Posibility of increased terrorist attacks: bring it on! Then maybe we can take off these kid gloves we have been fighting with.

  28. duhmoose on November 8th, 2006 at 7:28 am

While the election results are far from happy news, I can’t say it is a surprise. Republicans have hounded on the “no-plan Democrats”, but have failed to take initiative and push forward a clear agenda. My hope is that the GOP will bring forth a new Contract with America and show me that they are a party I can be proud to vote for instead of having to vote against the other guys.

  29. hamous on November 8th, 2006 at 7:28 am

Last night’s election only proves that the public is sick of the ultra right wing of the Republican Party. I know I am. That faction of the party lost these elections because of their petty nature.

Well I hope the loss was worth it because your precious little wall definitley isn’t getting built now, amnesty for illegals is on the way, and you have definitely have put our boys in Iraq in harms way by giving that nut job Pelosi the keys to the coffers. WAY TO GO NAZI WING OF THE PARTY!

So here’s a suggestion. Since ya’ll seemed to be so fond of that Democrat that LOST yesterday why don’t ya’ll join his party. I’m sure most of the Republican Party won’t miss you. I know I won’t.

“WAY TO GO NAZI WING OF THE PARTY!”

National Socialism is more like what Dhimmicrats are… Govenrment control of just about everything (business) and a hatred of anything they disagree with. The Nazi reference is way, way off base. Why are they Nazis? Nazis exterminated 6-million plus Jews. The Republicans that want a wall are not talking about killing anyone, but enforcing our laws. Just who are you talking about? Give an example or STFU!

    #48,

That’s exactly how I see it also. This “cut and run conservative” stuff that gets slung about is lazy thinking IMO. If I believe someone doesn’t represent me, I’m not going to vote for them regardless of whether or not they have an (R) by their name. Why not accept responsibility for the realities of your mistakes rather than try to blame the voters who didn’t vote for you because of those mistakes? That would seem to me to be one of the most fundamentally conservative notions there is: personal responsibility.

  62. Peter on November 8th, 2006 at 9:16 am

Yeah you CUT and RUN Republicans, you should ALWAYS vote for the Democrats with the R’s beside their names. I don’t care of Perry raises your taxes by 2000%, adds bridges to help cross the Rio Grande and starts the world’s largest pulbic housing project, he still has that R so vote for him!!!

    ROFLMAO

They must EARN my vote. No more voter subsidies.

  63. The Dude on November 8th, 2006 at 9:16 am

I’m even more sure all of us fiscal conservatives would like to thank TAX and SPEND Republicans for giving us nothing to vote for. We sowed nothing yet live with the reaping daily.

  64. Definitely Blonde on November 8th, 2006 at 9:19 am

One thing I like about this election finally being over is maybe now all the whining will stop.

Republicans lost because they refused to lead and acted like democrats. Its as simple as that. Republicans should have done thier jobs - they lost this election themselves!

  65. vlou on November 8th, 2006 at 9:21 am

Well now, we will have amnesty for illegals, taxes will rise, and we will not be safe from the terrorists. Oh, and don’t forget the minimum wage will rise too!

    The Military
The average age of the military man is 19 years. He is a short haired, tight-muscled kid who, under normal circumstances is considered by society as half man, half boy. Not yet dry behind the ears, not old enough to buy a beer, but old enough to die for his country. He never really cared much for work and he would rather wax his own car than wash his father’s; but he has never collected unemployment either.

    He’s a recent High School graduate;

he was probably an average student,
pursued some form of sport activities, drives a ten yearold jalopy,

    and has a steady girlfriend

that either broke up with him when he left,

or swears to be waiting when he returns from halfa world away.

He listens to rock and roll or hip-hop or rap or jazz or swing and 155mm howitzer.
He is 10 or 15 pounds lighter now
than when he was at home

because he is working or fighting

from before dawn to well after dusk.

    He has trouble spelling,

thus letter writing is a pain for him,

but he can field strip a rifle in 30 seconds

and reassemble it in less time in the dark.

He can recite to you the nomenclature

of a machine gun or grenade launcher

and use either one effectively if he must.

    He digs foxholes and latrines

and can apply first aid like aprofessional.

He can march until he is told to stop

or stop until he is told tomarch.

He obeys orders instantly and without hesitation,

but he is not without spirit or individual dignity. He is self-sufficient.

He has two sets of fatigues:

he washes one and wears the other.

He keeps his canteens full and his feet dry.

he sometimes forgets to brush his teeth,

but never to clean his rifle.

He can cook his own meals,

mend his own clothes, and fix his own hurts.

If you’re thirsty, he’ll share his water with you; if you arehungry, his food.

He’ll even split his ammunition with you

in the midst of battle whenyou run low.

He has learned to use his hands like weapons

and weapons like they were his hands.

He can save your life - or take it,

    because that is his job.

He will often do twice the work of a civilian ,

    draw half the pay

and still find ironic humor in it all.

    He has seen more suffering
    anddeath then he should have

    in his short lifetime.

He has stood atop mountains of dead bodies,

    and helped to create them.
He has wept in public and in private,

for friends who have fallen in combat
    and is unashamed.

He feels every note of the National Anthem vibrate through his body

    while at rigid attention,

while tempering the burning desire to
    ’square-away’ those around him

    who haven’t bothered to stand,
remove their hat, or even stop talking.

In an odd twist, day in and day out,
    far from home,

he defends their right to be disrespectful.

Just as did his Father, Grandfather,

    and Great-grandfather,

he is paying the price for our freedom. Beardless or not, he is not a boy.

He is the American Fighting Man

that has kept this country free

    for over 200 years.

He has asked nothing in return,

    except our friendship and understanding.
    Remember him, always,

for he has earned our respect

    and admiration with his blood.

And now we even have women over there in danger,
doing their part in this tradition

    of going to War

when our nation calls us to do so.

As you go to bed tonight,

    remember this shot..

A short lull, a little shade

and a picture of loved ones in their helmets

Come on now you gloomy guses…

Some things in life are bad,
They can really make you mad,
Other things just make you swear and curse,
    When you’re chewing life’s gristle,
    Don’t grumble,
    Give a whistle
And this’ll help things turn out for the best.
    And…

Always look on the bright side of life.
    [whistle]
Always look on the light side of life.
    [whistle]

    If life seems jolly rotten,
    There’s something you’ve forgotten,
And that’s to laugh and smile and dance and sing.
When you’re feeling in the dumps,
    Don’t be silly chumps.
Just purse your lips and whistle.
    That’s the thing.
    And…

Always look on the bright side of life.
    [whistle]
Always look on the right side of life,
    [whistle]

    For life is quite absurd
    And death’s the final word.
You must always face the curtain with a bow.
    Forget about your sin.
    Give the audience a grin.
Enjoy it. It’s your last chance, anyhow.
    So,…

Always look on the bright side of death,
    [whistle]
Just before you draw your terminal breath.
    [whistle]

    Life’s a piece of sh*t,
    When you look at it.
    Life’s a laugh and death’s a joke it’s true.
    You’ll see it’s all a show.

Bush has extended an olive branch to Pelosi so they can “work together”. That’s the same crap he did with Kennedy when he first got elected and the Republicans got poked in the eye.” Now that we’re in the majority we can work together” said Mrs. Pelosi to Mr. Bush. Thanks Nancy but you’re 6 years too late.

Just received this from an acquaintance: Too late to change our votes… BUT Still worth reading and saving to review in a few years down the road.

    Democrats’ campaign slogan!
“A New Direction For America — Vote DEMOCRATIC!”

Perhaps we should analyze this promise.
The stock market is at a new all-time high and America’s 401K’s are back. A new direction from there means what?

Unemployment is at 25 year lows. A new direction from there means what? Oil prices are plummeting. A new direction from there means what?

Taxes are at 20 year lows. A new direction from there means what?

Federal tax revenues are at all-time highs. A new direction from there means what?

The Federal deficit is down almost 50%, just as predicted over last year. A new direction from there means what?

Home valuations are up 150% over the past 3.5 years. A new direction from there means what?

Inflation and unemployment in check, hovering at 20 year lows. A new direction from there means what?

Not a single terrorist attack on US soil since 9/11/01. A new direction from there means what?

Osama bin Laden is living under a rock in a dark cave, having not surfaced in years, if he’s alive at all, while 90% of Al Queda’s top dogs are either dead or in custody, cooperating with US Intel. A new direction from there means what?

Several major terrorist attacks already thwarted by US and British Intel, including the recent planned attack involving 10 Jumbo Jets being exploded in mid-air over major US cities in order to celebrate the anniversary of the 9/11/01 attacks. A new direction from there means what?

Just as President Bush foretold on a number of occasions, Iraq was to be made “ground zero” for the war on terrorism — and just as President
Bush said they would, terrorist cells from all over the region are arriving from the shadows of their hiding places and flooding into Iraq
in order to get their faces blown off by US Marines rather than boarding planes and heading to the United States to wage war on us here. A new direction from there means what?

Moreover, bear in mind that all of the above occurred in the face of the 1999 tech crash, the epidemic of corporate scandals throughout the
90’s, and the 9/11/01 terrorist attacks on NYC years in the planning, which collectively sucked 24 trillions dollars and 7.8 million jobs out
of the US economy even before G. W. Bush had time to unpack his suitcases in the White House. It’s easy to attempt to discredit, disgrace and defame our commander in chief, George W. Bush; what’s not
so easy to do is to refute irrefutable facts, no matter how they might try.

Do yourself and this country of ours a favor and don’t be a mindless sheep, bent on hate and blame-shifting simply in the name of hate and blame-shifting. Take heed of reality, use your head and cast your vote wisely in the upcoming elections.
The stakes are far too high today, as America’s very future, and yes, even its very survival is now at stake! Yes, I said even our very survival is at stake.

At first thought this is humorous…………then I realized the awful truth of it. (Be sure and read to the end!)

    Tax his land,
    Tax his bed,
    Tax the table
    At which he’s fed.

    Tax his tractor,
    tax his mule,
    Teach him taxes

    Tax his cow,
    Tax his goat,
    Tax his pants,
    Tax his coat.

    Tax his ties,
    Tax his shirt,
    Tax his work,
    Tax his dirt.

    Tax his tobacco,
    Tax his drink,
    Tax him if he
    Tries to think.

    Tax his cigars,
    Tax his beers,
    If he cries, then
    Tax his tears.

    Tax his car,
    Tax his gas,
    Find other ways
    To tax his ass

    Tax all he has
    then let him know
    that you won’t be done
    till he has no dough.

    When he screams and hollers,
    Then tax him some more,
    Tax him till
    he’s good and sore.

    Then tax his coffin,
    Tax his grave,
    Tax the sod in
    Which he’s laid.

    Put these words
    upon his tomb,
“Taxes drove me to my doom…”

    When he’s gone,
    Do not relax,
    Its time to apply
    The inheritance tax.

Republicans lost because they refused to lead and acted like democrats. Its as simple as that. Republicans should have done thier jobs - they lost this election themselves!

Republicans lost, because for some deranged reason, a whole lotta people think that Democrats can do a BETTER job than the Republicans did. Simple. Take the “throw Perry out” mentality, multiply it by about a million, and you get Dems running the house and (probably) the Senate.

Bring on the impeachment hearings, higher taxes, premature withdrawal from Iraq, etc…

Sorry mate but the reasons that the Republicans lost is because they became what I have always complained about.,,,,,no different than Democrats.

Immigration is a prime example. The Republicans insulted a boat load of conservatives with their “Do the jobs etc” statements.

The Republicans did not even consider the conservative base till it was time for elections and that did not go un-noticed by the voters.

Blame cannot and should not be hoisted on voters. That is a Demotactic. The blame lies squarely at the feet of the Republican Party.

Republicans lost because they failed to do the job consevatives hired them to do. Now is the time to come together so that we retake the house and Senate in 2008. To do this we need to find and support real conservatives to do the job we send them there to do.

No, I do not think Democrats can do a better job and I am disappointed with the outcome of the national election. We can cry about it and blame each other or we can come together and work for a better conservative party.

Apparently those who want to not blame the REPUBLICAN “agenda” forget the landslide takeover the CONSERVATIVES helped with in ‘94. The message, agenda and actions were CONSERVATIVE.

What got blasted here is Republican Party NOT Conservative ideas.

I just listened to Bush on the radio. What he referred to was No Child, No entitlements, “Immigration reform/amnasty etc”. Oh goody. And Bush sounded just like he was going to give away the farm. He even used the “Do the jobs” statement.

Squawk and TRL3 - I ain’t blaming the voters. I am simply saying that more voters voted for Dems than they did for anybody else. The majority obviously feels at this point that the Dems can do a better job than the Reps can.

Make no mistake, the Republicans’ inaction is why the majority felt this way, but the voters voted for who they thought would do the best job, and the majority of them didn’t think it was Republicans.

Why is that so hard to swallow for so many people?

    He’s baaaaaaaaaaaaaaaack……… C’mon - invite him over…

    sargevining Says:

“Polls on the issue” show that the nation is divided this way, ranked in order of popularity:

    1. We need to stay there until we we win, the way the war is going, we aren’t winning, so we need a new strategy to win.

    2. We need to stay there until we win, and the only thing we need to do is send more troops and stop fighting a “PC” war.

    3. We need to leave, but not before certain conditions are met—which may or may not mean “winning” because the only way this is going to be over is for a poltical solution among the Iraqis themselves.

    4. We need to leave, and we need to set a time table for leaving so the Iraqis will get off their ass

    5. We need to leave right now.

The Democrats have NOT told us which one of these—or perhaps something more brilliant—they are going to do. all they have done is tell us they are planning to come up with a plan.

Now the ball is in their court, and Rumsfeld’s leaving is GWB telling them:

    Put up or shut up.

The Left has deluded themselves into beleiving that dissatisfaction with the war among the population is equal to a desire to leave regardless of the consequences. The ice-cold water of having to run this show has been tossed on the Democrat Leadership—be careful of what you wish for, you might get it.

We now get to see which way the Dems want to go, and they can start paying the political price for anything that goes wrong from now on, that’s what Rumsfelds move is all about: giving them exactly what they want so that we can see that what they have been doing is playing poltics with the lives of American Soldiers.

Because if they haven’t been playing politics with the lives of the best young men and women we have, they will come up with something new right away. If not, they will continue doing what’s being done, but put a new ribbon on the package and try to sell it to us as “new.”

The new SecDef will be called the Democrats SecDef,” not Bush’s, because they will hold the majority in both houses and will be holding all the cards for confirmation of the appointment. They can no longer tell people it’s “all Bush’s fault.”

The next two years would be fun for a guy like me if the stakes weren’t so high. Watching those who have been pointing fingers, laying blame, and lying to us, without having a plan of thier own—just sot they could get into power–now have to show us they are worthy of that power and able to deliver what they told us the other guys weren’t.

But now it will be the Democrats base who gets pissed off at them for not coming through with what they promised: getting our troops out of Iraq and back home.

Because when it comes down to the nut cutting, those folks have been getting the same intel breifings that the Prez has been getting and they know that leaving will be a bigger disaster than staying.

I want to see how the KosKids and the rest of the nutroots Left react when Pelosi and Compnay sign on to sending 30,000 more troops.

All they need to do is convince the KosKids of that, and put out a contract on Cindy Sheehan and Micheal Moore.

The last time the Left got dissatisfied that thier leadership didn’t pull out of a war they wanted them to—there were riots at the Presidential Convention.

    DJ:

You just lost the Border Security issue. the Democ
