The crack tech services group tries to diagnose HAL 9000’s latest malfunction.
Ladies and Gents, you may have noticed that our beloved HAL 9000 has been acting a bit squirrelly of late. Crashing at inopportune times, frying the AE-35 unit, locking users out, refusing to open the pod bay doors, killing the crew, etc., you know, irritating stuff like that. Our crack(ed) Tech Services crew have diagnosed at least part of the problem. HAL is being buried under the onslaught of conservatives looking for a political home to call their own. We welcome you to our humble server day in and day out, and we contributors in turn are enriched by your time visiting here. However, we simply have outgrown HAL’s bandwidth capabilities. Unfortunately bandwidth is not free. We contributors work our fingers to the bone bringing you witty humor and shocking insight for no money, and we are more than happy to do so, but the server people must be paid somehow. Seeing as how you erase what doesn’t conform to your desired remarks confirms what some suspected and many will learn - rinos are everywhere and must be eliminated.
Actually, what happened was that Squawk nuked his entire post because he thought there was some formatting error he had made that was causing the page to not render correctly, as it turned out it was an open center justify tag in Ree-C’s post generated by WordPress’s own WYSIWIG HTML editor. (WordPress has bugs too!). so instead of reposting it and having two posts that were basically the same Squawk asked if he could replace my picture with his and I agreed.

I don’t see the connection with begging and being a RINO. I’ve seen these guys write a lot worse things about themselves then what was said in the deleted comments. All Smacktle said was that it was getting irritating and Benzion replied that it was an attempt at humor while begging. If that makes one a RINO, the zoo is gonna be full.

Let me see, create something that’s free hoping to make money. When the dough doesn’t start rolling in, start begging. Sounds like a business plan to me. The thing that needs to happen is someone needs to sell ads on this site, but the problem is,
first, this is too local. Who gives a shit about spelling errors in the Chronicle. Second, this place gets really right-wing sometimes, so they appeal to a limited group.

You have always been a great LST “cheerleader” and I am sure LST appreciates all your significant contributions. This is just from me, though, so thanks for all you do for LST (including cowbell!). I thought the last bleg was fun, bidding on stuff. And you’re right about the ads. I’m trying to get my boss to buy one and have emailed David for more info.
For those who might not know, Smacktle purchased the LST Cow Bears and Headshaker had them made! They are indeed collectors items! Thanks Smack and HS!

I have a set of three Harley shirts (all 2XL, in a boxed set). They are from Singapore, Malaysia, and (I think) Indonesia. I haven’t had a chance to bring it up, due to the paucity of BHH’s lately, and conflicts with my travel schedule, but I had planned to offer them up as “auction items,” proceeds of which to go to LST.
Of course, LST will have to hold the auction themselves. If ever I’m in town when a BHH is held, I’ll bring them in and pass them on to whatever resident LST staff is there.
Also, Neo, I got your boss something, too. I think it was a shot glass from somewhere, that says Harley Davidson and wherever I got it…. I think it was Singapore. But I could be wrong on all accounts. I was going to surprise you at the next BHH, but it’s beginning to look like that may not be until way in the future.
I don’t do paypal, and can’t donate from Bahrain. I’ll take care of that detail next time I’m at a BHH, as well.
Now you can all see why I was pushing so hard for a Brewhaha, the last time I was in town.

Anyway, FYI, I looked up to see what hosting company LST is using. Hey, I’m a computer geek. I sure hope they give great support. As the price is about %20 more then the national average. Otherwise, if HAL needs a new brain he might as well shop for it.
Other then the fun DNS server changes, changing hosting providers is not THAT painful.
