    Yup.. no accountability..

How about when they are cured, they get the death penalty, since you can’t put to sleep the insane?

Anyone know of a good island to move to? I don’t think Antartica has a formal gov’t yet. Maybe we can start over there.

I do wish someone would explain to me why someone who is an insane killer cannot be put to death. Is it considered cruel? if so, wasn’t what THEY did cruel? Did THEY make sure it didn’t hurt? Did THEY give their victim(s)a fair trial?

#2 Because of more insanity from the Warren Court ideology. Radical liberals used judicial activism to overthrow common sense and bring about a whole new era of crime and fear to America. The madness of the Warren Court can never be underestimated.

Just think about the logic of M. Dukakis releasing convicted Murderers on weekend furloughs… That’s the same kind of people who say we can’t execute “insane” people….

Remember, in the Andrea Yates case, had Rusty did the same thing that she did, he would have been fried! I couldn’t believe that in the great state of Texas she could get off on an insanity plea. Everyone on the planet knows that Rusty Yates was an A$$ hole, but this woman drowned her kids one by one; she could have walked away at anytime. I think that the BIT*H knew that the only way she could hurt her sorry husband was to kill his kids.

Woo-Hoo! Next time I get married, and I kill my husband, I will plead insanity! I will be proven insane, by my ex-husband (and children), go to a medical facilty, take lots of drugs, be released, and still take drugs! Dang, America is great! eeerrr, don’t have medical insurance. Will the government pay for my meds?

I don’t buy this not guilty by reason of insanity if the person knows right from wrong and obviously from reading the story, this woman did know right from wrong.

did a republican judge help here?

It’s easy. If you want to claim you were “insane” while doing something, then it’s clear you are actually admitting you DID it!

    Guilty by reason of insanity.

Once you are “cured” of your insanity, then you go to jail to START your sentence.

there was a followup blurb in todays chronicle about how there is a move afoot to change it back to “guilty but insane” If I get a chance later I’ll update the post
