Who are we to criticize the customs of other countries?

How judgemental and ethnocentric of us..

She had a 4 year old daughter, probably a good bet she’s had sex…LOL.

Is that budegoning - by reading the article I believe it was bludgeoning. Rack another up for HAL

  6. emmekelley on November 11th, 2006 at 6:54 pm

My question is, if it was the custom, why did it take four years for this mother to commit this murder? My other question is how long have they been here in the USA?

  7. Rorschach on November 11th, 2006 at 7:21 pm

First off, yes it was supposed to be “Bludgeoning”. It’s a typo, get over it.

I believe that she was a widow, hence the 4 year old. islam however does not allow a widow to have sex outside of marriage, it is adultery and is punishable by death. If she had found a boyfriend and was even seen alone and unaccompanied, she would be considered an adulteress.

Story doesn’t say anything about her being a widow, nor any comments by the family. Lots of “what if’s” and “speculation” in your observations I’d say. Let the investigation continue. Then comment.

IF - and I’d bet that the speculative reasoning holds true - it’s just another example of the “religion of peace”. But then, this is an prime example of the biggest difference between Judeo/Christian and Islamic societal ideology - Islam has no concept for Grace. To the Islamic mindset, allah is a god of wrath and judgement.

I thought I made it clear that I was speculating. But I’ll bet it turns out I’m right, or at the very least damned close.

    Ok gang!
    Something you need to understand.
Middle Eastern people (muslin) dream up new ways to kill each other nightly. They relish killing anybody, even their own kin. The more the merrier.
A simple knife to the heart would have been sufficient, but no.
It took a damn sldege hammer to fix this young lady. Probably right in the face. “Bludgeoning” is too nice of a word for this. UGH!
This is the religion of peace????? crap!
This is what we have to resign ourselves to. We already have a muslim congressman or Senator, I forget which. Their presence here is rapidly growing.
Next we will see our teens wearing head rags as a protest against their mom’s & dad’s.
Kind of like the rags they wear while skate boarding or at school.
We always are forced to comply with their backward/brutal cultural ways and accept it as normal.
That has already happened with the illegals form south of the border.
Enough! I ramble on too much.

This case has as much to do with Islam as Pastor Ted Haggard boinking a male prostitute while doped up on meth has to do with Christianity. You can’t find a justification for what he did in the Bible, nor can you find a justification for what this Woman has ALLEGEDLY done to her daughter in the Koran. You nutjobs are a disgrace to the fairness and justice of our legal system which ENSURES the very freedoms you profane. INNOCENT UNTIL PROVEN GUILTY. Allow our brilliant law enforcement to DO THEIR JOBS and in the mean time SHUT UP and worry first about your clergymen’s preference for molesting little boys and hiring gay prostitutes.

  13. Rorschach on November 14th, 2006 at 4:26 pm

#12, I will not shut up. I don’t have to because one of those freedoms is the freedom to speak my mind. I made it clear I was speculating on the motive and I still feel that it will be shown that I am close in my speculation. You can be assured that I will continue to follow this case. And I will report the result. A justification for it does not have to be in the koran for it to be part and parcel of Islam. Female genital mutiliation and 72 virgins for martyrs aren’t in there either, but yet they are common beliefs/practices. Islam twists and distorts the Koran to justify it’s own base needs.

And since when am I catholic? or even Christian? You obviously haven’t done YOUR homework.

Female circumcision a.k.a. “Female Genital Mutilation” is practiced mostly in Africa and primarily by NON-MUSLIMS. African and some Middle Eastern Muslims may practice it as a LEFTOVER from their Pre-Islamic Animist traditions. It is done in complete ignorance of Islam. This is what Amnesty International says:

    “Religion
FGM PREDATES ISLAM AND IS NOT PRACTICED BY THE MAJORITY OF MUSLIMS, but has acquired a religious dimension. Where it is practised by Muslims, religion is frequently cited as a reason. Many of those who oppose mutilation deny that there is any link between the practise and religion, but Islamic leaders are not unanimous on the subject. The Qur’an does not contain any call for FGM, but a few hadith (sayings attributed to the Prophet Muhammad) refer to it. In one case, in answer to a question put to him by ‘Um ‘Attiyah (a practitioner of FGM), the Prophet is quoted as saying ”reduce but do not destroy”.

MUTILATION HAS PERSISTED AMONG SOME CONVERTS TO CHRISTIANITY. Christian missionaries have tried to discourage the practice, but found it to be too deep rooted. In some cases, in order to keep converts, they have ignored and even condoned the practice.

FGM WAS PRACTICED BY THE FALASHA (ETHIOPIAN JEWS), but it is not known if the practise has persisted following their emigration to Israel. The remainder of the FGM-practising community follow traditional Animist religions.”

What they cite as a “reference” by the Prophet Muhammad was actually a CENSURE of the practice. When he said “reduce but do not destroy” it was instruction that only a small part of the clitoral hood should be trimmed (”reduced”), but that the clitorus should not be cut (”destroyed”). This actually ENHANCES a woman’s pleasure in sex as the clitorus is more easily stimulated. This is NOT the same thing as what is practiced amongst African peoples.
