This was posted by me on Veterans Day and I am serious. I have already started sending e-mails.

    ———–

Thanks to the Veterans, I can post to a blog and have my right of free speech.

Now if I can just get HAL to cooperate

Okay, now that I have gotten over the “thumpin’”, I want to determine the interest in a grassroots EFFORT to get our lame-brained politicians back to speaking for their constituency and not getting rich from the special interest lobbyists.

I want to see one vote for one bill. No attached riders, no midnight meetings and no special called sessions where we wake up and our “leaders” have all gotten raises.
We the taxpayers pay these guys enough money as it is. They have huge expense accounts, give their staff raises that we again pay for and don’t know if the people are even “working”.
If the politicians deserve more money, allow the taxpayers to vote raises on a merit basis.
I am sick to the point of a damned near civil unrest. These PC bastards read something in the paper and feel that it is gospel without any investigation. How many ever read a single bill that is presented to them in its entirety. Hell how many registered voters know what they are voting on.

How would we begin a charge that would make the politicians answer to the people again and not the special interests?

I am going to send blasts to as many local, state, and federal people that I can. I am not expecting much in the manner of response other than automated responses.

Since Dan Patrick is not one of my elected officials and I am not politically connected I need some advice from someone who is and I would like to know if this is a screwed up idea or if there is a chance in hell that we can stop this eventual train wreck.

I know that history repeats itself (a la the Roman Empire) but I also know that it doesn’t have to.

    Damn I need some guidance

Note to self. Buy more ammunition.

  4. MadDog on November 14th, 2006 at 10:28 am

Please let’s do something to get the politicos -both Dem and Rep - back to responding to us. Let’s get them to read the bills. Only vote on 1 issue at a time. Cut the pork. Cut the midnight raises. Let the taxpayers vote on raises.

How do we get started?? Seriously!!

  5. Sm1ley on November 14th, 2006 at 10:29 am

Um…. I really don’t know where to start. There are just SO MANY obvious refutations to each and every one of his bullet items that I just don’t know where to begin . . .

    This is just so laughable.

  6. hefitz on November 14th, 2006 at 10:32 am

Funny……..I don’t remember M.M. name being on any of the recent ballots.

    Was he elected to something??

  7. jphilb on November 14th, 2006 at 10:35 am

    Beware Liberals quoting Scripture.

“Love your enemies,” “It is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle than for a rich man to enter the kingdom of God,” and “Whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers of mine, you did for me.”

Sometimes you have to kill your enemies. Have they ever heard of the concept of “smite, smiting, or smote”?
And I guess that THEY will make sure there are no rich men. When you die, gubment gets everything.

    Scary.

  8. fasternu426 on November 14th, 2006 at 10:37 am

    What he really means:

“We will not take away your hunting guns”
    ***We will take them all

“When we raise the minimum wage, we will pay you ”
***From the taxes we will squeeze from “rich white guys”

“We will respect your religious beliefs”
***Unless you are a Christian (especially an evangelical)

“We will not tolerate politicians who are corrupt and who are bought and paid for by the rich.”
***Unless a Dhimmicrat, or a lawyer, and besides, most are already rich.

Nope he was not. HOWEVER his “contract” is indicative of the current Democratic Party thinking and coming legislativge initiatives.

Unfortunately in our society now, economic situations dictate that both spouses have to work to provide. That leaves less time to get “involved” in politics (and unfortunately in raising a family) and too many turn to the liberal media (aka alphbet channels and CNN) for supposed information. The good thing is that with the internet, more reliable and accurate information is now getting to the busy people and 9/11 change everything. The “tax and spend” Democrats are being exposed as people realize there tax bills are going up while their wages stay the same. So change is a coming, and hopefully sooner than later. Those of us who don’t have the intelligence to decipher the complicated proposed laws and regulations have to turn to people like Dan, Edd and Paul for help. Thank goodness for them!!!!

  11. collegewatcher on November 14th, 2006 at 10:55 am

Hey Squawk: NOTICE HE SAID AMERICANS… what about all of those in the country that are not Citizens? Does that mean he’s gonna dump them? Send them back home, deny them health care?

Does he have two mouths, or speak with forked tongue?

Tell me what is this character saying?

    1. We need to get out of the mindset of refering to politicians as “leaders”. They are supposed to be representing us - doing our bidding - following our lead. QUIT CALLING POLITICINS “LEADERS”!

    2. Maby each state should determine how much their representative get paid. Then they would have to go to the voters to get a raise.

IMO Mr. Moore is saying this

“Folks of Amerika(sic). All your lives, money and possessions are belong to us. We are going to take care of our “pets” at your expense.”

I think more people will get involved once they realize who is raising their taxes. Unfortunately for now, both parties have become generic politicians who let the power get to their heads and tried to buy votes by spending for anything and everything to stay in power. That’s where Dan’s grassroots effort will take time. And since rising property taxes affects both Republicans and Democrats, change should be coming sooner rather than later.

During this last election I saw the argument too often that the time to change was during the primaries. That is way to late the damage has already been done. My argument is that is not really the best time to become involved.

This last election is a prime case where we the voter did not hold our elected officials feet to the fire through the two years prior. Look what happened.

I am a strong believer that “CONSRVATISM” has worked EVERYTIME it is tried. This last bunch of Republicans got away from conservative principles and WE the electorate said nothing. Oh we got wrapped around the axel a couple times but other than that we said nothing.

I watch the LibDems raise hell with their politicos all the time, but Conservatives don’t. We need to be engaged in the smallest of ways starting now. I saw bunches of fear voting going on. That is abhorant to me. You build a party in years not months. Waiting till the primaries is too late to voice our opinion.

  18. tedtam on November 14th, 2006 at 12:00 pm

My hair was already curly, but this sure did tighten it up! I don’t know whether to laugh at his lies, snicker at at his naivete, or be frightened as hell.

    Maybe all of the above.

    God help us all.

    Reply to No. 17:

In the primaries is where you get your first and only chance at nominating a conservative. If that rino gets to the general election it’s too late, we end up voting for the likes of Perry because the alternatives are worse. In the primaries, technically, only Republicans get to choose. Now whether those Republicans are moderate or conservative is sometimes in question.

And your right the Dimwits raise more hell because they have the liberal media to help them. One thing I noticed about the Republicans is they don’t know how to lead from the majortiy. They are easily intimidated by loud mouth Dimwits with help from the liberal media. They are afraid to stand up and be heard. But ultimately, its the “power” that does them in. They abandon the principles that got them there.

I still think the “property tax revolution” will do them in, especially the Dimwits, because high property taxes affects both Republicans and Dimwits alike.

  20. Squawkbox Noise on November 14th, 2006 at 12:25 pm

    Robert
I agree that the primaries is the place to cast the first vote. HOWEVER the RNC has a habit of throwing their weight behind the candidate that “they” feel is most electable. With the sluff to the center by the Republicans that I seeing going on now, I believe we as the ELECTORATE need to send a loud message now that this is unacceptable. This message needs to be repeated by the ELECTORATE over and over again.

We need to punctuate the message of Dan Patrick locally, statewide and nationally with our continued voice.

  21. desmond on November 14th, 2006 at 12:33 pm

If ever an elite wrote, this is it. It is a pity the mental Hospitals do not accept ‘nutters’, because this is a loon.

  22. TexasDrifter on November 14th, 2006 at 12:46 pm

Okay, that fired me up to attempt to respond.

    1. That’s why you ban the use of the name “GOD”, and prohibit saying ‘Merry Christmas’, displaying the ten commandments, or nativity scenes, RIGHT??

    2. And also encourage single motherhood leaving many children without good father figures and role models involved in their everyday lives.

    3. So it isn’t your personal whim to abscond with others’ hard earned money to give to someone who chooses to not work and move up in the world? Some need help as circumstances are sometimes out of our control, but make it a hand UP, not a hand OUT.

    4. You CANNOT promise that, because there was no lie, and unless you are omnipresent you will never know, except through hindsight if it was either.

    5. So you too in 10 years can pay out of pocket anyway because you have to wait months for cancer treatment you needed months ago, as it is now happening in Canada

    6. So you can have firefighters and other innocents die because prior permission could not be granted to get water from a nearby lake. We want conservation too, just not when it costs human lives. Maybe if you allowed nuclear power plants and other cleaner sources of energy to be built, we could move that direction faster.

    7. Of course you believe child molesters should be allowed freedom to molest your children, murderers to plead insanity when they really are not, allow petty thieves sue you because they were injured when breaking into your home or business, etc.

    8. Some of us have come to accept that we cannot change the abortion stance, but not when the baby is that far developed. We also want an expectant mother to be certain and not make a rash decision that may scar her for life (you want two weeks to purchase a gun, why not the same to kill a potential life?) Maybe if parents had to be told if underage he/she would take a lot longer to unzip those pants and get an unwanted pregnancy in the first place. As for the marriage issue, that is not “marriage”. Somewhere along the way it changed from having spousal similar rights (hospital visitation, inheritance, etc.) to infringing upon other’s definition of marriage, but we are free to hold our beliefs as long as they align with yours?

    9. So you will be sure that the police departments, that you persecute everyday when they have to use force to subdue someone trying to kill them or someone else, will be present wherever you are, whenever that might be to protect us? Maybe just hire bodyguards for all of us with the increased taxes. You can afford that luxury, for the rest of us, a one time fee of around 500 dollars and a permit affords US the same luxury. Besides the founding fathers felt it was important for us to protect ourselves and prevent the government from taking our firearms.

    10. Will you raise the pay of all the people who have worked hard to earn that wage that you are forcing employers to pay? I guess the not so subtle message is that they are to be punished and their hard work to earn that wage was for naught. As for women’s pay, when you directly compare their experience, time in position, and other items that do not pertain to gender in this comparison, then maybe we will view this even closer. For that matter when you stop promoting racism by choosing hiring standards and college entrance based on race rather than accomplishment and character (If I recall correctly, I believe MLK’s dream was judging by the content of character rather than color of skin). It is too bad his dream has been twisted to keep some in power and remain in the spotlight.

    11. Re: the response on 1.

    12. Wasn’t a democrat with this belief driving intoxicated and let off without further incidence? Any of us would have spent time in jail and lost our license to drive. Another walked away from an accident, a jailing offense for us also, how about perjury, sexual harassment, Tyco and whitewater (or something like that) etc? Those in glass houses….

    Reply to No. 20:

I know the RNC has a tendency to dictate the nominee and support that person. But Dan is a perfect example of what can be done with a good message for why there should be change. Dan didn’t have the support of the Austin Republican types but he managed to win against three career politicians with connections. He beat them soundly and it was a shot heard around the “party”. So change is a coming because sending e-mails didn’t quite get it with the “Austin bigwigs”, it took grassroots effort from Dan to get it done.

  24. Squawkbox Noise on November 14th, 2006 at 1:10 pm

    Robert
Dan is the perfect example of the right person at the right time. I believe that success is built by preparation. Dan has been listenng to the grass roots for years. Thus he was prepared.

We build on that success. If the din is loud enough the bigwigs will wake up nationwide not just locally.

The problem with the bigwigs in office now is the voters have sanctioned their actions through silence. Hell the Dems scream loud all the time and “thier” people listen, it is time for the CONSERVATIVES to do the same. Hell my local and national Reps know who I am and my face too.

I am not saying that anyone would go that far I am just saying that we need to start voicing our opinion.

  25. Robert on November 14th, 2006 at 1:39 pm

I think we will know what direction the “Party” is headed by its actions over the next two years with respect to who the party’s nomination is. We will know currently by the type of leadership the Republicans choose to lead the minority in Congress. We will know if we have anybody step up and take the initiative like Dan. All is not lost but it surely is getting away!!!!!!

  26. Squawkbox Noise on November 14th, 2006 at 1:47 pm

    Robert
I am genuinely curious why you have a wait and see attitude.

I agree all is not lost. However I believe politicians are like little kids, we the adults need to keep “teaching them a lesson” or they will just go on the direction they think is right.

I blame the electorate for this last mess. NOT because people did not vote straight ticket Republican rather because through silence the politicos took there actions as an Okie dokie from the electorate and many Conservatives and conservative voting independants stayed away or just said the hell with it.

I believe it is time that the electorate puts the “We” in “We the people” back into the daily process.

  27. ThunderHawkk on November 14th, 2006 at 2:19 pm

Whoa, does anyone think that maybe, just maybe, Dan P. could be in a position to rise up through the ranks of Texas politics to then make a run at the Presidency in maybe 2016?

I’m serious, does anyone think he could do it? I’m not even sure I’d vote for him, but wouldn’t that be wild?

  31. jimb on November 14th, 2006 at 2:25 pm

And some of them are downright lies. For example:

We will not spend your grandchildren’s money on our personal whims or to enrich our friends.

    Sorry, but thats absolute BS…

And finally, I don’t want the Left “balancing my checkbook for me”. I’d rather do it myself. That’s the whole problem - the Left believes that we can’t do anything for ourselves, so the benevolent socialists have to do it for us…

    Squawkbox,

    Thank you for this post.
I started putting together a list, starting from
precinct to president my representatives and other
politicians I want to advise, “if you want my support, serve me conservative”, I found that many
possibly prefer to be FAXED. Fax’s are quicker and have, I think, better potential to be read.

If Trent Lott becomes whip I intend to fax him
letting him know I forgive him for being a compromiser in the past and that I am looking forward to seeing him be the man I am sure he is.

  35. The Dude on November 14th, 2006 at 3:42 pm

When Republicans are in power, the government is “intrusive” but then they take the wheel, it’s benevolent….

Insurance for a continued “benevolent” government:

“A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed.”

Oh… that’s right. We don’t need the second ammendment now. The “benevolent” guys are in power. What was I thinking?

    Robert,

It’s not the primaries, It’s right now.
Rom Emanuel is the man credited with the Democrats
success. He picked the blue dog candidates and put them in the primary. Rom Emanuel ran the show. There is a Republican equivalent to him at every level and those people are working right now to get “there man” in the primary.

If you want “your man” in the primary let those people know, “if you want my support, serve me conservative”. Otherwise you will take
    what they serve.

We have to “wait and see” who steps forward. Remember Paul Bettencourt almost ran for Delay’s position. We have to wait and see if the new RNC chairman is serious about changes or is it business as usual. A lot can happen before the 2008 primaries and you know the attention span of a typical voter. To get the voter back into the scheme of things, I believe the property tax issue will the the “straw that broke the camel’s back” as people start seeing more and more of their paycheck go to taxes.

  39. ThunderHawkk on November 14th, 2006 at 3:53 pm

Better be sure to get some elephant ammo, in case Moore himself comes after me…. It’ll take more than normal to stop that load….

Can you imagine Michael Moore banging on the door at night to take away our guns? It’s okay, though, he’s going to leave us the hunting rifle….
    yeah, right….

So in the meantime we let the status quo go unchallenged?

I respectfully submit that is precisely what brought the Republican party to the mess she is in. We have a Republican party with elected officials that are signalling that they are leaning more to the center. I cannot sit by and watch that happen and “hope” for the next primary.

To each his own I suppose. Nice chattin with you.

Doesn’t matter if you are a primary voter - tell ‘em you are! It gets their attention! I learned this from Dan’s campaign. We had a list of voters who were tracked by their voting in the primary. In fact, the lists of the voters we blocked walked and handed out literature indicated that they had voted in at least one of the last three primaries. All the telephone calls we made were to primary voters.

Republicans in the US House are as we speak working on a new minority leader and all other leadership positions. If you don’t want another Hastert, raise hell now with your congressman. Tell them you want the “face” of our party (House anyway) to reflect conservative views and values and to be clean and to articulate our message positively and accurately.

The time is now, stay involved. They are voting this week. Don’t let the ones who did this decide our future without your voice heard!
