This means that Iran has a functioning nuclear reactor and can therefore make plutonium. plutonium does not need centrifuges to separate from Uranium. Bismuth Phosphate or Lanthanum Flouride is all that is required to chemically separate it from the Uranium. Plutonium bombs are more difficult to build, but the technical sophistication required is not unreasonable.

You are correct, the triggers for the plutonium implosion are a difficult engineering problem and should take the Iranians a good deal of time to design, really, I mean, how likely would it be that some idiot would go and post the specifics of trigger design in some massive dump of documents on the internet, that’s just not gonna happen.
#8, even that is not THAT big of an engineering challenge, I mean for christ sake, it was done in 1945 using the technology of the day. I just read an open source article about how researchers in england (University of Southampton) discovered a way to make a transistor work at up to 110Ghz, the previous record was 70Ghz. Using ion implantation of fluorine into a standard boron doped transistor design. This is territory that used to be the realm of vacuum tubes.
Besides they have engineering help from the North Koreans who already know how to build triggers.
Besides, I saw the design in a 1979 Encyclopaedia Brittanica. If I can understand it without an advanced engineering degree, don’t you think that some of the PhD’s that we’ve trained can understand it?
