Something to keep an eye on:

Is Bush Admin Flipping on Gun Rights? Early in President Bush’s first term, the Justice Department adopted the “individual rights” interpretation of the Second Amendment. According to administration attorneys, the weight of historical evidence and academic scholarship supported this view. Now, however, it appears that at least one federal agency (the Federal Aviation Administration) is endorsing the “collective rights” view in a rulemaking concerning whether firearms should be allowed during space travel. Given that proposed rules are supposed to be subject to White House review in the Office of Management and Budget, the question is whether this one just slipped by, whether it represents a sign that the Administration is backing off the “individual rights” interpretation favored by most supporters of gun rights, or whether this is something that only those of us who with scheduled space travel need worry about. And on the “what the heck” list:

SEPTEMBER 12–North Carolina cops are searching for a guy who successfully passed a $200 bill bearing George W. Bush’s portrait and a drawing of the White House complete with lawn signs reading “We like ice cream” and “USA deserves a tax cut.” The phony Bush bill–a copy of which you’ll find below–was presented to a cashier at a Food Lion in Roanoke Rapids on September 6 by an unidentified male who was seeking to pay for $150 in groceries. Remarkably, the cashier accepted the counterfeit note and gave the man $50 change. In a separate incident involving a different perp, Roanoke Rapids cops Tuesday arrested Michael Harris, 24, for attempting last month to pass an identical $200 Bush bill at a convenience store. Take a look at the image of the bill. They should arrest whoever accepted it.

I have an idea to bolster our military without a draft and at the same time see how much illegals really want to be citizens. Put uniforms on them and send them off to Iraq. If they make it back alive in four years give them citizenship. If they refuse to serve send them packing to their country of origin.

    Good day.

    HITLER’S THANK YOU DINNER
    Speech by Herman Grundig

    (snip)

“We only have to worry about three rogue nations who will resist the German people’s will,” continued Herman Grundig. We all know these outlaw nations. First is Britain, a stubborn people who fiercely defend their peculiar thousand-year tradition of liberty that protects their citizen’s so-called “individual rights” against so-called government tyranny. They will oppose us to the end.”

“Then there is America, the bastard offshoot of Britain, with the same stubborn anti-government tradition as the British, but even worse. The Americans actually allow their citizens to own guns. Can you imagine that? That so-called “right” is even written into the Second Amendment of their despicable Bill of Rights. We understand that their courts and legislators are chipping away at this “right to bear arms,” as the American fools call it, but it will take another sixty years before their legislators finally confiscate all arms in America. So right now, America will be our most dangerous enemy.”

“Finally, right on our door-step, is Switzerland. This renegade Republic has had so-called representative democracy for over 600 years. They are a fierce people who cherish their so-called liberty, and have refused all our efforts to convince them to pass gun registration and confiscation laws. Their leader even had the nerve to tell me that every citizen in Switzerland not only has the right to own guns, but that the Swiss government actually requires every citizen to have a rifle in his home, and to practice using it. As a result, he told me that all their citizens are deadly marksmen. They claim that this law has kept the Swiss free from invasion by other countries for over 600 years.”

“Well, we will respect Switzerland’s armed citizens . . . I mean, neutrality. We will not force our views on them if they are so stupid that they cannot see that it is Germany’s destiny to rule Europe. Our generals have told me that we would have to fight every man, woman, and child in every house in every hamlet, valley, and mountain top in Switzerland if we ever invaded . . . I mean, sent our troops justly into Switzerland. Our generals have therefore wisely decided to respect Switzerland’s neutrality, as a gesture of generosity by the German people.”

Apparently, the revolving door is still fully operational.

Or should I say “la puerta que gira todavia esta trabajando?”

  33. Jaime on December 29th, 2006 at 11:16 am

#26 And how many of those, just because they wore uniforms, will understand and, more importantly, live by such concepts as Natural Law, Common Law, constitutional limited government, etc?

They will still be a net loss in our battle to constrain the Central government. They will probably be even worse off. People who accept a highly centralized government already, that is supposed to give them craddle-to-grave care, trained in the one system that requires total subordination. Imagine those Foreign Legions taking order in a New Orleans style operations.

    Please spare me.

Another Romanesque non-solution that will further destroy what’s left of the Republic.

  37. Jaime on December 29th, 2006 at 11:40 am

#35 “Outstanding citizens” means exactly what? That they keep their lawns cut and are nice neighbors, while supporting the eviceration of our historical rights and the enlargement of government’s intrusion into our lives? I do not doubt that the people you refer to really want to become American citizens.

I question their understanding of what that means and, in many cases, their desire to understand.

HB29: Relating to the imposition of a fee for money transmissions sent to

Get off your butt and do something…anything.

It’s all the liberals fault! Yeah, that’s it. It’s those damn liberals! Stupid, no good, cowardly, commie pinko ba***rds they be. Now of course, me being Republican makes me smart, classy, brave, freedom loving, and a good Christian. The fact that I’ve registered as a republican is a true indicator of my high moral and ethical status.

Those dang liberals have ruined our world in the last 26 years even though the GOP has retained control over Congress or the Oval Office for the last 26 years or so. With the minor exception of 1992-1994. Things were bad then with ol’ Slick Willie in office and the Demoncrats runnin’ congress. During that time, I could feel the flames of H.E.-double hockey sticks burning the feet of all Americans. Things were awful around here.

Thank GOD we regained GOP control of Congress in ‘94 and kicked Slick Willie’s party to the curb in 2000. In the last 6 years, things have really improved with virtually no control from the other side. Now I know what you’re thinkin’ September 11th, a war, corruption, immigration. Those things are all the liberals and main stream media’s fault. If they only focused on the real stories about that no good JFK wannabe Kerry eating lunch alone, then we’d be in a righteous place.

If we could just exterminate them dang liberals and censor the public media. We could have peace in our nation while fighting in others. Heck, we could send all the dang liberals over to Iraq! They’re probably all Muslim, antifadeh, dhimmi, jihadist, turban wearin’, pig-hatin’ anti-American mongrels anyway.

Darn illegal immigrants, the Dhimmicrats want to pay to have ‘em in our nation. The liberals just want them so they can vote for their stupid commie party. Takin’ my tax dollars while they kill our innocent wimmen and children.

  64. Yellowdogdem on December 29th, 2006 at 1:17 pm

Sarge-if we lose our liberties, it will have nothing to do with the fact that we do or don’t have guns. It will be do to the fact, and this pertains to both liberal and conservative, that we are largely an apathetic and do nothing country when it comes to our government and politics. We have a lower percentage of people voting than almost any country in the world. Most people don’t know who their congressman is. They don’t know who their state reps are. They don’t read newspapers, magazines or watch t.v. news shows. This will be our downfall. Someone who would take away 1st amendment rights is a much scarier person than someone who would try to take away second amendment rights. Our power and ability to influence government flows from our 1st amendment rights, not our 2nd amendment rights

  65. sargevining on December 29th, 2006 at 1:22 pm

    YD

I agree that the solution is that more people should vote.

But DJ claims we are being manipulated by the governmen/media complex and therefore such a solution is only window dressing. I mean, a government that can pull off 9/11 as a false flag operation can do just about anything, right?

At least, that’s what I get out of his posts for the past two years and his avoidance of giving a direct answer to my question.

We have to dismiss these media conspiracy nuts on each side. They use tthe media as a crutch. Media is nothing but a filter. An intelligent person will take from many different sources and draw his own conclusions, then vote his conscience. In fact i have even suggested to a few of the local talk radio hoststhat when someone ones to go on the air and complain abnout government, that they should be pre-screened and if they can’t answer basic question such as who is your state rep, who is your u.s. rep, where is your polling place, etc., etc, then they shouldn’t be able to voice an opinion.

Too many in the military WILL follow orders to disarm citizens and too many citizens will comply, submit and snitch.

You are right Sarge, we have gone so far to the left that the Central government has NOTHING to stop them in whatever they wish to do to us in these uS.

  71. DanielJames on December 29th, 2006 at 1:36 pm

    Call it manipulation or whatever.

Day in and day out we see missing woman, dead hikers, car chases, etc.

Why did the media not cover Joe Bannisters victory over the IRS?
Why did the media not cover the fact that CAFTA was passed even though several congressman said they voted no yet their votes turned up yes? Are car chases moere important?

Whatever the media decides is news is what we get. Whatever light they want to shine on it is how bright it gets.

  72. Jaime on December 29th, 2006 at 1:43 pm

MSM will never go too far. They are a dog on a leash and they know it.

  73. DanielJames on December 29th, 2006 at 1:46 pm

Charles Taylor of NC voted against CAFTA. The media shunned this real news. Why?

Sarge thanks for serving our country. Our country is calling you to duty again. You just dont hear the call.

Also thanks for demeaning my border watchs. I almost lost my life last October sitting there with my cooler and binoculars by nice hispanics looking for work. I wouldnt have been sitting there if our government was doing its Constitutional duties.

Until you are in your grave you have a duty to serve.

I keep hearing your call DJ…and I keep asking you what I should do.

    And you never tell me.

Maybe it’s that kind of thing that keeps us as “do nothings”

all you do is “warn” us about the destruction of our liberties, the government/media complex, the fake 9/11 attack—and then you tell us we’re all doing something wrong by not “doing anything”–but you never tell us what we should do.

Jerry Doyle questioned everything he thought was wrong with our gov on both sides of the aisle. Out of the blue he was gone. I emailed 700 as to why he was replaced by the ever so popular vitamin guy. I never received an answer.

It’s Friday afternoon and I’m sitting here thinking New Year’s is upon us and so we need some New Year’s resolutions. I contacted the Dimwits and this is the “Top Ten” Dimwits and their New Year’s resolutions:

    1) Bill Clinton: To bag as many babes as possible before Hillary makes her presidential run.

    2) Hillary Clinton: To develop a personality that doesn’t seem so b*tchy. And do something about Obama.

    3) John Kerry: To actually stay on one side of an issue and to avoid contracting “foot-in-mouth” disease.

    4) Ted Kennedy: To quit drinking so as to avoid red cheeks and a red nose and be confused for Santa.

    5) John Edwards: To mess up his hair a bit and look more middle class.

    6) Nancy Pelosi: To make sure there is enough Botox in here makeup case.

    7) Jesse Jackson: To somehow attach himself to Obama and get to the White House.

    8) Al Sharpton: To make a better plan and become a perpetual runner for President.

    9) Queen Sheila: To become more photogenic so as not to crack anymore camera lens.

    10) Harry Reid: To become more respectable and hope that Tim Johnson recovers.

Please feel free to add to my list.

You think that Dan Patrick is part of the government/media complex because he cancelled Jerry Doyle?

If I’m not right—then please tell me which conspiracy his cancellation DOES conform to.

Me, I thought it was because KSEV looks at the arbitron books and the bottom line—you know, like most businesses doo…

But wait—there’s that Government/Walmart complex going on too——

No, she chose the name, with the help of Smacktle and me and some others. Smacktle just told me that my friend was crazy! Not because of the name, but her personality! She is a nut but I have known her so many years, when she does or says something crazy, I just tell everyone, nevermind, its just a “Nancy Thing.”

Ahh, a good ol’ Texas Pig Race!!

I called at about 3:45 and the gal said there were a lot of people there and they would have the races.

After avoiding rain, tornado watches, thunder, lightning, and I-10 traffic I arrived in time for the fireworks at 6:30. Got to meet the whole family, really nice folks. Lots of media there - Ch13, etc.

Crowd estimate from constable and others approx 250-300, in and out.

There was plenty of parking across the street and it was very well organized. Refreshments, porta-cans, and security were on site. Bleachers surrounded the racecourse, and round bales of hay sheilded the site from the roadway.

A good time was had by all! Next Friday will be another one.
