Heads up, westsiders:
The Briar Forest entrance and exit ramps to the Sam Houston Toll Road in west Houston are closed today through Jan. 12 for re-striping.
Further lane closures are not expected, the Harris County Toll Road Authority reported.
A week seems like an awful long time to paint two ramps, doesn’t it? Anyway, you might want to take a detour.
We’ll have live video from LST’s NewsSkyJetChopper1 just as soon as we get it out of the shop.

Would that be a chop shop?
Why do *we* have to complain about everything? Perhaps they are doing you a favour!
Who’s complaining? I’m trying to help the flow of traffic. If you really want to sit on a closed ramp while crews spray a nice yellow line across your car, you have my blessing.
Anyway, I was right… a week IS a long time to paint two ramps. Channel 2 is reporting that HCTRA will also install new barriers along the ramps.
And…I’m still *fourth*! Oh! Dear! Wake up, up there, you lot!
Sunny
Pipe down! You woke me up!
Great… I use the northbound Briarforest ramp almost every day…. I do use the EZ tag lane next to the booths, instead of trying to dive across 4 lanes of traffic to the normal EZ tag lanes…
Oh well… I wish they would hurry up with the lane expansion north of Hwy 290!
