by David Benzion · 01/04/2007 9:10 amGlory belongs to the bold, so here are my utterly ungrounded, retrospectively idiotic predictions.
What we know–Director of National Intelligence John Negroponte is leaving the post to become Deputy Secretary of State.
Here’s what’s coming:
- Dick Cheney out as VP, becomes Director of National Intelligence and Repressor in Chief; moonbats freak, conservatives rejoice, America remains safe;
- Condelezza Rice moves up to VP and runs for President in ‘08, thus neutralizing the Democrats regardless of whether they go with Hillary or Obama;
- Negroponte replaces Rice as Secretary of State

How about this one: Dick Chaney decides to run for President and chooses Condi Rice as his running mate. The conservatives are happy, the minorities are happy and the Republicans can offset either or both Hillary and Osama, I mean Obama.
We could do worse .
Dr. Rice has no baggage I have ever heard of.
But you can bet that will not stop the
Clinton (RODHAM?)2008 team from making some up
I would gladly, and have told anyone that will listen, work/volunteer/whatever to get Dr. Rice in the White House.
However, there are some very ugly rumors out there about her. The best part is, they are completely irrational…
One is that she and President Bush are having an affair and Laura moved out because of it; the other is that Dr. Rice, um, likes women more than men (I mean, she NEVER married, right?)
Isn’t that rich? It’s like, pick a team folks, you might be believed…
What these “rumors” tell me is that there is NOTHING on Dr. Rice. In order to “get” her, you have to make it up.
I don’t know about this, but I’ve said for a long time that Condi Rice was probably the only Republican that can beat “Hitlery” and mark my word she WILL be the nominee and she will win the Presidency if the Repuke-lacans can’t find a viable candidate. That said, I think that the DumbocRATS in control of the House and Senate can only help the Repubs. I guess we can wish though.
Ree Cee, You can bet that they’ll bring out their Junk Yard Dawg, AKA, Corporal Cue-Ball Carville, to try and dig up anything they can and of course she is an Uncle (Aunt?) Tom, never mind that she has doctorate degree, is very skilled in foreign affairs, and is an accomplished pianist.
sounds like genious to me.
Heck…. Why not????????????
Rice is too smart to run for office.
# 8. I bet you are correct, she would not want the bull that goes with the office. But I WISH she would run because I know she could win. But most likely McCain who we know is too weak to win will be the one.
Curious to hear what people think of Mitt Romney?
It looks like some others are thinking along Benzion’s lines (but not exactly like it):

Rice would be the right pick, which is exactly why the Republicans won’t do it. Why would they want to break such an excellent losing streak in 08?
If you’ve read much about her, you know that Dr. Rice is a brilliant woman who would do this country proud as President. But on a personal note, I would love to be able to rub it in the faces of the liberals that the Republicans were the first to have a black and a woman as President. Wouldn’t it be sweet? The icing on the cake.
Sorry, but Rice has done nothing so great. Not really. I never thought a 3rd party would ever have a chance in America, but if it’s Rice vs. the Hildebeast, there will be a chance for a 3rd party to win!
A real man, a tough man, who can kick some Muslim a$$, could win as a 3rd party candidate…
You heard it here first…
##12 Peter, You’re right, as I said in my #4, I think she can beat Hitlery, she’ll get a lot of the black vote, (not the majority, that drinks the Kool-Aid), she’ll get a lot of women votes from both sides, and any true Reagan Conservative will vote for her. You have to remember that the DemocRATic women are not all “hairy legged feminists” I think some would only vote for Hitlery if it was a last resort. Also as I said before Hitlery WILL get the nomination, and I just don’t see any Repuke-lacan that could beat her.
P.S. I’m glad that you got that medication adjusted ;=),…Just kidding, you always crack me up with FIRST, TENTH, ETC.
Poor prognostications.
1) Mr. Cheney will not resign as VP to become the director of National Intelligence because he would have to be confirmed by a Democratic controlled Senate. The confirmation hearings would require Mr. Cheney to be placed under oath and we all know how averse he is to testifying under oath. The Democrats would love to question Mr. Cheney about the Iraq war, no-bid contracts (i.e. Halliburton, etc…) while he is under oath. For that reason alone, it will never happen.
2) Ms. Rice, regardless of the crazy rumors Ree-C mentioned above, is too tied to the clusterf#@* in Iraq to win the GOP nomination, much less a general election. Didn’t any of you pay attention to the election in November?
Iraq, unfortunately, is the new Scarlet Letter and Ms. Rice is stained a bloody crimson.
David I like your thinking, seems almost plausible?
Not so sure on the Condi thing myself, need more input, however, she is brilliant and certainly more classy than hillary in her dreams. But to want condi for the motives above may not be the best thinking. Peter you forgot SINGLE, CHristian- black women. I mean if you are going for the Lib factor
Willie get a sense of humor man. Wrong about Chaney under oath, and the election was not about Iraq as much as other things! If it was Liberman, would be home writing a book, with a few others.
Jean: What were the “other things” you write of that swung the election to the Democrats? I would be interested to discuss those.
The esteemed Senator from Connecticut would not have retained his seat if not for the name recognition that comes from being a multiple-times re-elected incumbent. Had this been his first re-election, the junior Senator from that state would be named Lamont.
I thought I had a good sense of humor. Go figure.

Willie, you said “What were the “other things” you write of that swung the election to the Democrats? I would be interested to discuss those”.
Well it’s painfully obvious, the conservative voters stayed home! The Rhino’s that were elected before didn’t do the job that they were hired to do. The DumbocRATS won by default! The damn Rhino’s gave it to them. DUH!!
Cheer up though, because your favorite communist, Hitlery will more than likely be the next President. I do hope that you don’t have any Grandkids, because they will be the ones that pay for your stupidity!! Mine Too!!
#18 Make that, my Grandkids will pay for you and all the other communist’s votes for the BIT*H!!
Willie, ok maybe you do have a sense of humor
But the post of David’s was not truely serious.
Anyway besides there was a meriad of things on the election, but the hard core Dean Democrats didn’t usurp the Repubs, it was moderate dems that won. You take the villification of DeLay while Jefferson had CASH and FBI investigation going on and the difference in the coverage. In the uniformed electrate all Repubs are crooks! Had the coverage been real the Dems would have had a harder time winning on the “corruption” issue.
Plus when Reps don’t stand up for their positions as they should, like the immigration thing it chaps us off. and the Spending was made to look like for the FIRST TIME IN HISTORY Congress spent money!
It was a bunch of things, IMHO.
